Unrepentant: Kevin Annett and Canada's GenocideUnrepentant documents Canada's dirty secret - the planned genocide of aboriginal people in church-run Indian Residential Schools - and a clergyman's efforts to document and make public these crimes.

First-hand testimonies from residential school survivors are interwoven with Kevin Annett's own story of how he faced firing, de-frocking, and the loss of his family, reputation and livelihood as a result of his efforts to help survivors and bring out the truth of the residential schools.

This saga continues, as Annett continues a David and Goliath struggle to hold the government and churches of Canada accountable for crimes against humanity, and the continued theft of aboriginal land.

Unrepentant took nineteen months to film, primarily in British Columbia and Alberta, and is based on Kevin Annett's book Hidden from History: The Canadian Holocaust. The entire film was a self-funded, grassroots effort, which is reflected in its earthy and human quality.

  1. I knew Kevin. As a matter of fact he married us in Port Alberni in the 1990's. He is a good man, truthful and straight up. The United Church of Canada royally shafted him to maintain the institution of their church.

  2. Hi is this offered in the French language?

  3. Thank you so much kevin! I'm subscribed to ur YouTube channel and watch all your videos. Just watched the new one today. Thank you for everything you do, you have done so much. I'll keep fighting along side you. From prince Albert, sk

  4. Thank you Kevin Annette for breaking down the Cult Walls of the Catholic Church. I,myself did battle with the church against the elderly/disabled. We need to take back the churches and the wealth then feel the hungry and care for the suffering around the world.

  5. Kevin, brother, you and your efforts to address racial genocide in Canada have helped inspire my wife and I to do what we do. My life's experience, especially, my involvement with different church organizations in the lower '48, parallel yours. I still hold a ministerial license with a large, independent church, but they are afraid of me and what and who I advocate for. I am a tribal elder living on the reservation near Petoskey, Michigan, not far from the infamous Holy Childhood Indian School. The video documentary "Unrepentant" continues to be a siren across this continent.

  6. The Catholic Church is the Great Whore, Mystery Babylon, Mother of Harlots, and Abominations of The Earth. Revelation 17:4. This is not yhe Catholic Church, but nontheless, it is themother of all churches.

  7. Thank you for all your hard work Kevin and the BS you had to put up with. I know because I lived in Port Alberni and Kevin married us in 1993.

  8. thank you Kevin Annett for this lovely documentary which is helping me on my research on residential school system and cultural genocide in canada..thanks a lot..you did great job.

  9. There was no policy to eliminate the aboriginal population in Canada. The population of aboriginal people actually increased after European settlement. Why would you educate, cloth and feed people you planned to kill? 50% of aboriginal people live in urban areas, are educated, have jobs, raise their kids in safe and civil communities. Some genocide.

    1. you have no clue what you are talking.first read the history of canada, cultural genocide and residential school system in canada, then you say..Europeans exploited that land specially British Colonizers mercilessly by killing aboriginal children in residential schools in the name of civilization and education. I am doing a research degree and I think i know more than you do. so stop showing your arrogance level.

    2. You have buried your head in the sand and one ask Bill Phipps about this...

    3. Your post is dated 2016. It's now 2020. I trust you have educated yourself somewhat since your really ignorant conclusions of residential school.

  10. Every knee will bow before the Lord. We will give an individual accounting of our lives before the Lord. No one escapes. Revenge is the Lord's, so that we do not sin. Yes, and the one's who legally refuse justice to the victims are included. Thank you, Kevin Annett, for your bravery, and courage in shining the light of truth on the abominable darkness.

  11. I delight in the details on your web sites. Appreciate it.

  12. Brandon. Be cool. Not all white people are evil. The ones that did this were evil. Not all white people are racists. Please stop lumping all whites into one category. That is what racists do.

Not all Native American tribes were all 'pure' either. They all had plenty of fights amongst other tribes. Those who did this evil horror are not following a peaceful God, they are demons who are following satan. God exists, but religion is corrupted by man. The messages of the highly developed souls who came to earth are the same- love each other. The religions eventually become corrupted by evil intentions. The Bible (Living Streams Version from Living Streams Ministries) shows that the Catholic Church is the Harlot who sits upon the many waters and will be destroyed by Antichrist.

  13. Great job Kevin! I am a white Canadian married to a native lady from Canada. What we did to the natives was wrong and to this day they still live in riotten conditions with little power and no clean drinking water. All you white people on here commenting about natives should get over it your f--king stupid and shut your face. If what happen to the natives happen to us white folk we would be crying like big babies and saying how unfair it is. White people have a history of treating everyone who isnt whtie like they are less then we are. Well it's not true white people are the real terrorists and religion is fake created to divide us even more. If you kill in the name of your god, then your god sucks, if you judge others in name of your god he sucks too. You believe in religion then you are already brainwashed by the higher ups. We need to make peace with each other right the wrongs and show peace and love.

    1. Brandon D, Everything your saying is true. I believe that the Vatican created a lot of religions to divide people. They also wrote the bible. The Vatican own the usa government, uk government, canadian government and many others across the world. Our Queen of England was involved the the Canadian genocide. She is also the queen of Canada from my understanding.

  14. No wonder that pope Francis didn't visit Canada in his recent 'tour' of North America. Also explains why there were so many security people and cops around him, I guess they didn't want Francis to get surprised by a subpoena too.... These people are pure evil. The only comfort I get is from reading Revelations where the unrepentant like these scum of satan will end up burning in the lake of fire for their horrific sins against the most innocent of all...children.

  15. Finally, for once we get to hear some horrible discrimination happening to the natives of CANADA and not the US. Everyone likes to point fingers at the US for their abuse of their native peoples, but no one seems to care about any other country doing so. This has only taught me that humans are terrible everywhere. Causing misery is one of the things we do best.

  16. Hideous crimes have been done against Australia's Aborigines as well, even to this day, but conveniently it's never reported on mainstream media. You know what they say "out of sight..out of mind"...and that's how the Australian government likes it. Shame on us for staying silent...for our silence is the fuel they need to carry out thier crimes.

    1. I have lived in Australia my whole life and have never even seen and Aboriginal

  17. Thank you Kevin Annett and all the Native Americans who were brave enough to speak the truth. I am deeply saddened that we are facing genocide and I said we because it is happening in Mexico and all over the world. They, the powerful, are killing Indians. I wish more people could watch this documentary and become awakened of what is currently going on with the missing Native American women in Canada. We need to stick together and share this information. I am sending positive vibes to humanity.

  18. I quote Kevin Annett: "Assimilation is a play word for genocide."

Africa for the Africans, Asia for the Asians, white countries for EVERYBODY.

Everybody says there is this RACE problem. Everybody says this RACE problem will be solved when the third world pours into EVERY white country and ONLY into white countries. The Netherlands and Belgium are just as crowded as Japan or Taiwan, but nobody says Japan or Taiwan will solve this RACE problem by bringing in millions of third worlders and quote assimilating unquote with them.

Everybody says the final solution to this RACE problem is for EVERY white country and ONLY white countries to “assimilate,” i.e., intermarry, with all those non-whites. What if I said there was this RACE problem and this RACE problem would be solved only if hundreds of millions of non-blacks were brought into EVERY black country and ONLY into black countries?

How long would it take anyone to realize I’m not talking about a RACE problem. I am talking about the final solution to the BLACK problem? And how long would it take any sane black man to notice this and what kind of psycho black man wouldn’t object to this?

But if I tell that obvious truth about the ongoing program of genocide against my race, the white race, Liberals and respectable conservatives agree that I am a naziwhowantstokillsixmillionjews.

They say they are anti-racist. What they are is anti-white.

    Anti-racist is a code word for anti-white.

  19. Kateye70
as you might have figured out i am native Canadian (Metis). and members of my family had to live with the morals, traditions and culture that he claims that his religion provides(in that specific province and religion). that is why i felt is better to move the discussion here for that aspect. we had children ripped from their homes. beaten, abused and in some cases die at the hands of this morally superior culture. so no i refuse to think that inflicting that onto future generations to be nothing but a crime against children on a large scale

    1. I can certainly understand your feelings on the subject. I believe I have seen at least parts of this doc on tv a few years ago, but was under the impression it was in the US, since similar situations took place here.

I find it odd that it was a united church minister who stood up, since the catholic and anglican churches seem to have operated the vast majority of the schools. I remember when the Wounded Knee protests took place; that was when I first became aware of the true cost of European immigration to the Americas.

I can't believe that the Bureau of Indian Affairs is still in existence in the US, even today, although it does seem to at least have Native Americans working there. It is rather disheartening as euro-american to realize how much harm my own ancestors did, either intentionally or unintentionally.

    2. Kateye70
i would like to point out that i do not hold the poster in question or the members of his province or religion personally responsible. but when he held up the organizations that i do hold personally responsible, opposition was demanded. i am biased and this subject is not something i can debate while guaranteeing to remain logical or reasonable. i do respect your posts and felt you deserved an answer.

    3. Thank you. I appreciate your sharing this information with me. And thanks for the link. I know it is a complex subject with a long history and no easy solutions. Upon further reflection I guess I'm not surprised that the dominant forces won't admit any wrongdoing.

I've been thinking about this overnight. I hope you can further separate laity from clergy, particularly in the case of the catholic church. As I've stated in posts elsewhere, it was a similarly disrespectful and harmful attitude toward women that first pushed me away from the religion I was raised in. But I moved a lot when I was young, and do not have childhood ties to any specific region; I will identify as Texan but only loosely, since I was only four when my family moved away, although I still have many relatives there. I realize I view the world differently than people who live in one region most of their lives.

My only defense of the original poster was that I that understood his impulse to belong to the community he obviously grew up in and has strong ties to. He was clear he didn't advocate the religion, but was partaking of it for the social reasons we had been discussing. I felt his decision was being speciously attacked and that he had as much right as any of us to express his views on that other comment board. Also, I do believe the Vatican is writing off the first world except as a source of income, and focusing their attention on more susceptible populations.

Some changes only come from within an organization; I chose to remove myself from it; perhaps someone else might have the opportunity to force changes from within. My cynical side says no, it is a power structure like any government or large corporation and abides by its own aims. Which haven't been 'spiritual' as I understand that term, in a very, very long time.

The thinking that led to the type of abuses documented in this film have nothing to do with good and everything to do with power.

  20. Kevin Annett it took a lot of bravery to open the truth up. i personally had no idea about this problem but since i have begun to look at things via the truth i am learning a lot. All my life i have only read the bible and have had no care to look at other books so if people like you don`t stand up to these things people like me would never know. For the life of me i really don`t like books and have not desire to read them. But because of people like you willing to spread the truth this way i have been enlighten to the truth and isn`t that what we are supposed to be searching according to GOD. So i cannot thankyou and all of the people seeking the truth and putting it out there for others to see like me vwho would never get educated via books. Thankyou again for your work in uncovering the truth. Your Sister in CHRIST.

  21. I've seen some of these faces inside and outside and the places in East Van and this was a well done from the heart true thing. Thanks Kevin and the others... your courage is appreciated.

  22. As a "white-face" who learned he is Metis' I've needed to sort out some very personal issues related to my heritage. What the documentary taught me is the reason WHY my Great-Gran DENIED her own Metis'/Cree ancestry. It was because she was AFRAID! This story has nailed the lid shut on the coffin. Pretty tough singing "OH CANADA!" or "GOD SAVE THE QUEEN" when the truth of our history is shared so deeply. My Gran's Grandfather was a surveyor for the Hudson Bay Company . . . married a Cree woman . . . the rest of us followed. Shame is toxic . . . what have we done!

  23. wow started watching this late last night about to finish the remainder of this one up.. this is sad and an awful amount of hatred to people..

  24. A heart wrenching powerful reminder of the travesty committed not only centuries ago but in our life time. It is a shameful, sad thing that these abuses against our fellow man continues today.

  25. I'm amazed to know that there are natives in Canada - how ignorant am I? Can't wait to watch it.

    1. You're kidding, right?

  26. Normally, I search for documentaries which present viewpoints that are not necessarily popular but well-founded and definitely debatable. Personally, I have no interest in flashy “conspiracy theories” or one-sided newsflash reports about an apparent under the carpet public travesty. I don’t believe this approach to raising public awareness is valuable; albeit, it is effective. That is, if people are persuaded to believe ideas that strike a sentimental chord as is clear in the power of religion.

That said, I was really excited when I read the title and short prologue about this documentary, “Unrepentant” by Kevin Annett. The mistreatment and alienation of native aboriginals in Canada is of particular interest to me being a proud Canadian myself. I was hoping for a well-informed documentary supported with concrete evidence. The aboriginal segregation which has occurred in Canada has lasting effects that are felt to this very day. Keeping in mind, the evident environmental degradation and contemporary dilemmas such as the Alberta tar sands due to logging and other capitalistic interests. Admittedly, I did expect a somewhat biased report, as expected, when a documentary aims to tackle a very controversial and historically convoluted issue. However, my initial skepticism was swept away once I realized Kevin Annett was apparently a learned man that must have some insightful perspective. Considering the basic background knowledge I gathered about him from his Wikipedia page.

From the start, where particular bible verses were collected along with a melancholy selection of music and opening scenes, I knew this documentary was garnering a simplistic theme. Nonetheless, I continued watching trying to remain objective and absorb the following presentation as a significant composition of rational thought. However, the documentary did nothing but head south from there. The whole documentary is built on the pretense of Kevin Annett’s experience in the west coast with the United Church and subsequent political institutions. Kevin Annett’s experience is filled with its own confusing subtext such as his marital divorce, supposedly financed by the church, and being fired from his job as a local minister at the church.

The whole documentary goes back and forth between a closed opinion-based discussion focused on Kevin Annett’s experience, featuring clips of random aboriginal people recounting their trials and tribulations including stories they had heard or allegedly witnessed. Kevin Annett tried to build an argument for the “genocide” of aboriginal society in Canada loosely based on random sources of information such as newspaper clippings and books from the early 20th century. Throughout his discussion, Kevin utilizes the fact that he’s articulate to paint a picture about the current political and historical situation and causes to justify an apparent “Canadian genocide”. Annett presents no real evidence in opposition to his argument and does not have any discourse with his own subject. Instead, he uses words and allusions to describe the dark, evil, and twisted conquistadors of the imperial west bearing the flag of Christianity and Canada.

How this documentary has yet to receive any clear negative feedback boggles my mind. I’m assuming knowledgeable viewers, who did not have anything directly invested emotionally into this issue, stopped watching shortly after it started. Anyway, I do not recommend this documentary for anyone, not even aboriginal people. Kevin doesn’t give any recommendations for collective-action instead he persuades viewers to sympathize with his “heroic” mission and presents a recipe for anarchy. Legitimate political action does not arise from stigmatizing political intuitions and officials as the “enemy”.

All in all, the only thing this documentary did for me was clarify just how complex and divided this issue has become as a whole. My heart goes out to those who did suffer and are still suffering but this type of thing just isn't useful.

    1. I don't think he's making strong allegations of genocide based on "some news clippings and random evidence". While I agree that the documentary is based on his work and experience (you must remember that the title of the documentary contains his name, so it shouldn't be so much of a surprise); it is quite hard to get BOTH sides of the story when the other side is so naive and strongly-opposed to anything brought against them.

For the same institution to try SO hard with the government to stop the allegations shows something. its not just some fking conspiracy that hes making, and you as a Canadian should consider the evidence presented along with OTHER evidence that you can well easily obtain on your own that the natives went through systematic torture, not just torture. then again, us Canadians love to think of our country as an amazing peacekeeper, who abolished slavery first over the states, and lead many peace keeping missionaries. oh we're so wonderful..especially with what we do to our own people.

Since the documentary at least CLARIFIED the complexity of it, continue the path toward finding out the truth. it wont take you long to find out that labeling residential schools as "genocide" is not so far-fetched

    2. The academic proof you seem to demand to be convinced exists. It is not taught in school. Genocide in Canada was about the attempted erasing of language and so culture. A genocide.of a culture cannot be denied by Canadians who are still kicking and screaming because they don't know these stories are true. You seem intelligent so do some research beyond this film and you will find out through independent sources that all of it is true. Your bad for not finding the truth, which is certainly out there.

    3. You must have been paid off by the crown or the church to believe the bs flapping out your lips. I have worked with First Nations in Alert Bay BC and Kamloops BC and assure you Kevin’s details are 100% correct. Most aboriginal people have more honour honesty and courage than 99% of the white population. Your denial of these FACTS shows your extreme ignorance. It’s lucky for everyone that Indigenous people only want reconciliation not revenge.

  27. I'm a Métis Canadian. It's disgusting, saddening and very frustrating that hatred is still a real problem in 2011.
    Msit mimajuinu'k weskwijinu'ltijik alsumsultijik aqq newte' teli wkpimte'tmut aqq koqwajo'taqnn wejkui'aqmititl.
Translated it's Article 1 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. "All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood."
If only that document was already thought of and in place by the time the colonials first came to the americas.

  28. So how many of the 10 commandments were broken during this atrocity? Hm.. Let's see. First I'll have to brush up on my 10 commandments.. Here's what google gave me:

ONE: 'You shall have no other gods before Me.' [ x ] They appear to worship money so there's one.

TWO: 'You shall not make for yourself a carved image--any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.' [ x ] again, money.

THREE: 'You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.' [ x ] using the name of god to make excuses like this MUST count, right??

FOUR: 'Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.' [ x ] conspiracy doesn't take a day off.

FIVE: 'Honor your father and your mother.' [ x ] indigenous people... we were ALL hunter-gatherers back in the day. Our ancestors, ALL OF our ancestors, are probably disgusted.

SIX: 'You shall not murder.' [ x ] duh.

SEVEN: 'You shall not commit adultery.' [ x ] (i can only assume)

EIGHT: 'You shall not steal.' [ x ] again, duh.

NINE: 'You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.' [ x ] haha... yeah sure..

TEN: 'You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor's.' [ x ] that's how this all started, yes?

So there you go. 10/10 commandments got raped by the people who insist these commandments must be followed.

    tisk tisk. Burr...

    1. Well said @Ella.

    2. ah, religious hypocrisy never ceases to amaze me. One problem is that religious people still look to the 10 commandments as a relevant piece of moral literature. Half of them people know instinctively, and half are just stupid or not really possible...requiring further hypocrisy lol.

  29. The sad truth is.. this isn't the only country to do this. Google Dongria Kondh. Google the Bushmen. Google the Russian aboriginal reindeer hunters. Google the Ainu. Check out survival-international.org

It's not just canada. This has been AND STILL IS a global genocide of indigenous people.

    1. agree, and people should know about the Australian aboriginals also

  30. You know it's funny.. i always said if i were the devil, my tactic would be to masquerade as god. I'm not a religious person. I'm an agnostic. But i like this idea. The best way to fool fools is to make yourself out to be exactly what they're looking for. These dillrods are still trying to hide this s***. Which makes them look stupid. We all know the truth now. It's pretty common knowledge. We learned this in grade 11 history.. I remember talking about it and writing a paper on it. We know all about the lies and the blackmail and the abuse. We know about the politics and the games and the evil. We know. It's time for a f***ing apology.

    1. The United Church and the Catholic church (I am not of either of these) have both issued several apologies. Didn't you notice that the genesis of this documentary is done by a man of faith, whatever church he is part of now... give credit for the evolution of church people. Times have changed. This would never happen now.

    2. they apologize for child abuse to , and it still happens and get covered up. wake up miss Mcalpine

  31. People are always remembering the Holocaust and honoring those victims, totally disregarding the actual Holocaust that happened here in Canada, the disgusting disregard for humanity and life itself. The Canadian Government along with the churches effectively broke my people and 'cleansed' them culturally and spiritually. Now we see the intergenerational effects of this breaking of my people. Thankfully, we are finally publicising the autrocities thatt have been hidden for so many years!!!

  32. WOW!!!! I CANT BELEVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PORQUE MATABAN A ESTAS CRIATURAS?

  33. The writers of modern history have done a really great job of helping everyone FORGET about the original inhabitants of this land.
    I am a native/white mix.
Natives were kept as slaves just the same as the african slaves. In fact my own white ancestors kept natives and blacks as slaves 5 generations ago. I have also experienced the chasm. To whites I'm brown, and to browns, I'm white.

  34. All religion sucks, most of the evil in the world is over religion. It gives people an excuse to be greedy and cruel, even to it's own worshipers. I hope we as a species grow out of it soon.

    1. I agree that people can be cruel and greedy but the end of slavery in commonwealth countries, literacy programs, salvation army, food banks, housing for the poor (Habitat for Humanity, etc), breakfast programs, fair trade crafts, MCC well digging in Africa, Mercy Ships (Medical Ships offering no charge medical/dental services) and numerous grassroots projects are all created by people of faith. I agree that this group of people SHOULD have a higher standard of ethics, that is is appalling that the United Church co-operated with the government agenda in the residential schools. We do have the right to expect better behaviour. However, it is a big mistake to ignore the good that "the church" has done and it only throws into relief the shocking nature of its misdeeds when they occur.

    2. Hell's Angel: Mother Teresa by Christopher Hitchens just watch this

  35. ES TRISTE SABER QUE EL MUNDO ALBERGA SERES TAN MALOS , PERO LO MAS TRISE ES SABER QUE TODO ESTE GENOCIDIO FUE CON AYUDA DE GOBIERNOS Y DE LA IGLESIA CATOLICA, SOLO SI ES VERDAD LO QUE ESTA POR SUCEDER CON LA REINA ISABEL Y EL PAPA BENEDICTO.
ME DUELE!!! Y NO LOGRO PODER ENTENDER PORQUE LO HICIERON , DONDE ESTAN SUS CONCIENCIAS??????ME DA ASCO ESTA CLASE DE HUMANIDAD, MIENTRAS MAS CONOZCO LA HUMANIDAD MAS AMO Y PROTEJO EL REINO ANIMAL.
    QUE DIOS NOS AYUDE.
    OLGA FROM COLOMBIA.

  36. Thank you for sharing! I’m glad I found it though, will be checking back soon to see what other info you have.

  37. @Tom:

Nothing personal, but I still see you are preaching your "Jehovah Witness" stuff, I realize it is a mandate for JW's to get new recruits,

But there is no preaching allowed on SeeUat Videos per Vlatko's FAQ. you should read it.

  38. Jack1952, I agree with you that there are problems in every religious organization because there are bad apples in every religion. It is ultimately God who judges and He reads people's heart. - "For Jehovah is a lover of justice... as for the offspring of the wicked ones, they will indeed be cut off... The righteous themselves will possess the earth,
And they will reside forever upon it." - Psalm 37:28,29

  39. The problem of abuse is in all of us. Every one of us. No exceptions. The sooner we all look inward instead of outward for solutions, the sooner abuses of this type will end. The minute you believe that you are incapable of committing misdeeds, you are more likely to commit them. Fight injustice when you see it but do not generalize about the perpetrators. It will only help to justify your own abusive behavior. Most atrocities were committed by individuals who believed that they were doing the right thing.

  40. Tom,
Couldn't of said it better my self !!

  41. The traditional churches do not represent the God of the Bible. Jesus and his apostles foretold that there would be apostasies (abandonment from true Christianity) after they died. Apostates would gradually introduce pagan ideas into Christianity and pollute it such as Christmas and the veneration of images. The apostasy became official when the Roman Emperor Constantine the Great adopted so-called "Christianity" as the universal (catholic) religion of the Roman Empire in the year 325 CE. Ofcourse, the "Christianity" that he adopted was no longer the Christianity of Jesus Christ, but a counterfeit one. This false form of Christianity got passed down through the centuries and continued to degrade down to what we see today. The Inquisition, the sales of indulgences and the latest sex scandals and cover-up should make people look somewhere else for true Christianity. The Bible foretold:

“There will also be false teachers among you. These very ones will quietly bring in destructive sects and will disown even the owner that bought them . . . Also, with covetousness they will exploit you with counterfeit words.” - 2 Pet. 2:1, 3

“The inspired utterance says definitely that in later periods of time some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to misleading inspired utterances and teachings of demons.” - 1 Tim. 4:1

Also read what Jesus said at Matthew 13: 36-42.

  42. Amber,

    Well said!
It was a pleasure reading your Comments, if you had written 10 more pages I would of read ALL-OF-IT.
But truly I don't think that the comments were an attack on Canada or Canadian people as a whole, (Well I hope not, If it were I can only say that ignorance has some how consumed them), but instead an attack on the system that was so long (And still probably happening TODAY 2010 Dec 21) being allowed by the community/public (Not being the Natives). I guess the community/public or what want call it makes the place, AKA CANADA.

FUNNY THING ABOUT IT IS: The Natives, what does the word Native implies on even means because this is where the real gross injustice lies.
Consider this, your house, your family, your property, someone or a group of people comes into/onto your property/home and if for an instant you in any aspect/way shape or form within a mili-fraction of your belief, think that harm is going to come to your family you would annihilate even kill them and think nothing of it.

I DARE ANYONE WHO SAY THAT THEY WOULD NOT TAKE ACTIONS OF THESE SORT TO WRITE BACK AND SAY/MAKE THEIR POINT.
Assuming that no one disagrees, We all think that this is Wrong, Wrong, Wrong and not in any way acceptable.

Going back to the word Natives or what it implies: "One of the original inhabitants of a country, esp. a nonwhite as regarded by European colonists or travelers".
Yes there are more meanings to this word but I'm sure we all can agree that in this case this one is implied.
On this note "The Native" are the true Canadians everyone else came after are Foreigners or Migrants, Make Note: this is not a Disrespect or insult in any way to the Now Canadians, not my intent. And yes people I know that the Original is not Canada, it is Katana the name was changed in 1535.

Amber once again I agree on everything you said, and to enforce on what you said America/Americans Should Never Ever Ever Ever ....... Have Anything To Say About Injustice By Way Of Comparison To Them Self or In Reference To Trying To Scold Anyone.
They are respectfully the worst in this matter.

    As for Kevin Annett,
Boy................(Sigh) you have some amazing strength I commend you "Kudos" Because I'm sure that as much that was said, there was a lot that wasn't.
I want to encourage you to keep going strong.

    All-in-All, this is very SAD.

Not that I accept or excuse this, because this the hight of foolishness/wickedness,
But these things happen every day all over the world even worst, way worst, It's only that we are expose to this.
And as long as the Hearts of Men (Male/Female) are fill with ANYTHING-OTHER-THAN-GOOD and the TRUE-ENFORCEMENT-OF-GOOD.

IF our (Human Beings) value was realized, the true uncontaminated form of who and what we are, would be easily be seen.

Picture this: A product given free, perfect in every way, almost totally self maintained, just need fuel 20lbs solid give or take 5lbs and about 5-gal water or less a week.
Note: The solid and Water comes from earth so it's also free.
So, Product Free, Fuel Free and all you have to do is put the fuel in the product.
So who on earth wouldn't want this deal.
What was just describe, if you haven't figure it out as yet was an individual human being, yes us, we already have this deal.

What's my point, we only need what we need, we don't need what we want, we only want what we don't need, there is nothing wrong with wanting, we will always want for this is in most of our nature, the problem manifest when you enforce your need for your wants at someone else expense.

Also for all of you who don't see the relevance, be humble with in your self and don't be blinded by ignorance.

For all of you out there who want to debate these comments, go right head, Don't Care either way, this is my opinion.

Peace to everyone, Health, Strength,True and Real Happiness, these things in Spirit, Mind and Body.

I sincerely wish everyone the best and that we all excel to a greater mindset and realization of who we really are as Beings called Humans, maybe then can we come together as one and see our Power, Ability and Potential in it's true and pure form.
The Greatest accomplishment to date compared to our true form is nothing, literally, ok, I'll try to explain.
The only reason nothing exist as something is for us to know what is nothing, other than that it would not even be known or exist because it's nothing, vice-versa in the respect of our now Greatest accomplishments, us being in our true form would view it as far less than minute, Insignificant it would only exist to us, for us, to know about it, because it would be nothing to us.
Our value, sense of direction, our very existence would be to uplift, help, heal and excel to make good for the betterment of Mankind, the Monetary system would be Abolish!

    Think About That!

  43. @ Amber : reading your statement made me proud to be Canadian, haha.. you tell them girl.

As for the video, I took an entire University class based on intercultural communication, most of which focused on Canada's relations with the Natives. Anyways, in one of our classes, we looked at the apology Harper issued about residential schools last year (yes, there was an apology). Our class concluded that Mr. Harpers apology was not genuine, based on the fact that he nor his gov't took ownership for the past gov'ts actions. He was not sincere, and finally he failed to assure that it would never happen again.

Harper made an even bigger blunder at the G20 meeting last year in which he made the statement, "Canada has no history of colonialism." Other countries are approaching Canada and are "taking notes" on our relationship with first nations peoples, we are counselling other countries on how to create a better relationship with their native people. I think before we do this, our gov't needs to be more accountable for this, and really acknowledge our dark past. We have to truly look at ourselves critically before beginning to counsel others.

Residential school are a black chapter in Canada's history, however we only have to look at Amber's wall post to recognize the ways in which much of Canada's history is vibrant. Even though it is a dark chapter in our history, it should not be a secretive one, I'm amazed by how few people knew about residential schools. Once this issue becomes more transparent and is taught in our history classes, we can then truly examine the ways in which we erred and begin righting the wrongs.

  44. I am 25 years old, a Canadian born and raised in BC, and I know more about native history than English. I am "White" and my dad married a native woman who lived through the residential schools. She is the meanest nastiest old thing, and is constantly discriminating against me because I'm white. I didn't even know there was royalty other than Queen Elizabeth II, and I don't even know how my grandparents came to Canada from England. My dad was adopted and my mom ran away when she was 14 and refuses to tell me anything about them. Now every White person i know has either a grandparent or a parent from overseas and they couldnt tell you why they came here. Every native I know knows their grandparents story, they have their native traditions and culture. I went to a religious school and I consider the education very pathetic and outdated. We have catered to natives my entire life as I can remember and they are still unhappy. Forgot paying money all the time they needs psychiatrists so we can ALL move on.
And let's not forget the Americans who put a price on their heads, literally. If you wanted a reward you had to scalp them and return that for the ransom.

  45. @ Reb

So what your saying is that abortion is morally reprehensible? Many women have fought for that right and we will continue to fight. Sure some women are irresponsible, but they shouldn't be having children in the first place and it is naive to think that all children put into adoption are adopted. I agree that women owe it to themselves to take precautions and have enough self-respect to protect their own bodies as it hurts them the most, but I wouldn't use that as an example to illustrate the decadence of the United States.

Anyway... I didn't want to start a troll war about abortion, this is a documentary about Natives, so it would be irrelevant.

  46. Mr. Annette,
I just wanted to let you know as a white caucasian Canadian that you Sir are a Warrior, you are a brave and I am proud of you for what you are doing for these people, never stop fighting for proper justice, I believe God must be very proud of you as well. I can't imagine the fustration you must be feeling fighting these mass control institutions. Keep up the great work and be proud that God has chosen you as his Warrior for truth.

    1. Amen

  47. As the subject and co-producer of Unrepentant, I want to thank you all for thinking, for speaking, for caring. Stay tuned for our next documentary and my new book Unrepentant: Disrobing the Emperor (Amazon Books). Strength and Honor.

  48. Dear Andrew. First off this is a horrible event in our history that has happened I agree. The thing that strikes a chord with me is there is about two dozen events in american history that are just as bad if not worse that have happened in your country. We can start with the slavery of the african Americans in you country for years along with the lynchings of them and just straight up abuse. Have you forgotten where you come from the good ole us of a give me a break you redneck and get a education about canada then you will realize that we teach you about life and then you will be a honest to god north american. Love proudly CANADIAN

  49. @Laura: You said, "Americans have a grisly history as well, but at least they awknowlege it and know what happened."

You may be surprised to know that children of the USA are routinely taught that the Indians were savages and we came here, found them, tried to help them and then they turned on us just because they didn't want to share their land. We don't usually find out the truth unless we are interested enough to dig for it once we have gotten out of school.

I am currently reading "Lies My Teacher Told Me" by James W. Loewen. It compares the facts to the textbooks that are used in history classes in the US.

    1. The US was different in that the colonists fought land wars with the Indians. Spoils of war and not colonization.

  50. In 1891 Cecil Rhodes along with other wealthy Englishmen founded the Committee of 300, where Rhodes wrote their intentions;

"And we are rich in an inheritance of honor, bequeathed to us through a thousand years of noble history, which it should be our daily thirst to increase with splendid avarice, so that Englishmen, if it be a sin to covet honor, should be the most offending souls alive..." He goes on to say "If we had retained America there would be at the present moment many millions more of English living. I contend that we are the finest race in the world and the more of the world we inhabit the better off the human race. Just fancy those parts that are at present inhabited by the most despicable specimen of human beings, what an alteration there would be in them if they were brought under Anglo-Saxon influence."

"The extension of British rule throughout the world, the perfecting of a system of emigration from the United Kingdom and colonization by British subjects of all lands. from the occupation of the Continent of Africa, the Holy Land, the Euphrates, the islands of Cyprus, the whole of South America, the Seaboard of Chinaand Japan, the ultimate recovery of the United States of America as an integral part of the British Empire, the consolidation of the whole Empire, the inauguration of a system of Colonial Representation in the Imperial Parliament which may tend to weld together the disjointed members of the Empire..."

I think this is bigger than Just the churches, crap always rolls down hill, every thing those Elitists planned has come about and were living it... God didnt kill those children! Its your Rulers that are to blame for all genocides, Hitler just copied what committee of 300 brought about, or maybe he was one of theirs. The Wicked always crave positions of Power and gravitate to levels of control. Don't Blame God for our mess, But I pray God raise up the people to put and end to such evil tyranny.

  51. Isn't god wonderful? Why does it have to take so long for 'humans' to realize that everything to do with this concept only generates more misery?

  52. Wow seriously, I just can't believe this. I posted my first comment before actually watching the film, and I'm watching it now.

I can't believe that so many Canadians really don't know about what happened in the residential schools. I remember studying a single chapter in high school on the subject, but we were taught to sort of down play it. Americans have a grisly history as well, but at least they awknowlege it and know what happened.

Its embarassing to think we as Canadians are so ignorant about our own past. I'm from Edmonton, and to think this went on in my city only 50 years ago. I feel very uncomfortable watching this...

  53. @Willis, I know exactly how you feel about being racist towards Canadian First Nations people. I'm a proud Albertan and I feel like I'm in the same position: I work part-time at a liquor store on the outskirts of Edmonton and right outside a First Nations reserve. I've seen a lot, and there really is a lot of violence on the reserves, teen pregnancies, alcoholism, gangs - everything. I'm sorry to say that the vast majority of theft, vandilism, and violence in my neighbourhood is related to the First Nations people (I can't believe I just typed that, I feel terrible saying that.)Its just so sad, and most of the time you feel so powerless to stop it.

The treatment of First Nations people in this country is definitely one of Canada's biggest problems. I've been to a few reserves in Alberta, and its like stepping into a third-world country; there's so much poverty and its unbelievable to think a place like this exists not only in Canada, but less than 20 km away from my home. I'm very curious to see what an American Native reserve looks like - is it roughly the same? As Canadians, we have to overcome these sterotypes and really find an efficient way to help these people.

  54. First off...

People should watch who they insult!
Americans on this site commenting on how much better they are then Canada only reduce themselves to being like the white males in this documentary who hurt Native americans. How could you possibly think you are better then us? It is mentalities like that that cause the hate in the world and horrifying incidences like the Holocaust, Rwandan genocide, and the mis-treatment of Natives.

And by Americans saying how disgusting this is of Canada, maybe you better look into your OWN historical treatment of Native americans before you go calling the kettle black!Or maybe we should Point out America's historical treatmeant of blacks? its worse. Canada and the USA were all one country at one point, just a giant block of mysterious land populated by what was considered "backward people". Before the countries were even divided, the populations of Native people were slaughtered, raped, enslaved and diseased by white invaders landing in South America to Canada. It was not and is still not only Canada who presents Natives with a poor life-style. In canada Natives are paid to stay in highschool, their university is free or discounted, our government sends teachers to their reserves to attempt to educate them, especially the most isolate reserves in our Northern territories. They dont pay one our taxes on food, smokes, EVERYTHING! They need no license to hunt or fish and they ARE allowed to perform their religious and cultural practices. Natives fight for their rights on both sides of the border.IN general they have been used and mis-treated since WHITE people stepped onto the shores of the new world THINKING THEY WERE BETTER!

And as for the ignorant comments against the country I was born a raised in...you only further the world's beliefs that America is PACKED with ignorant war mongers, who believe the world belongs to them, Canadians all live in Igloos and that there is apparently (some where) "weapons of mass distruction". Before you go hating on everyone else on the planet and disturbing their lives, maybe you should take your nose out of everyone elses business and look to yourselves.

You wanna throw comments? Fine I'll play your ignorant, comparitive game. Canada is great! We have less unemployed people then America, less teen pregnancies, less drug addicts, a higher standard of education with more students graduating highschool AND university/college. The world likes us more, and the only reason our standard has gone down in recent years is because we are neighbours with the united states! Yes we have debt and yes our government is a bunch of retards, but atleast they are not retards who cost their country 1/3 of the entire worlds war debt and Canada isnt so economicallty f--ked from importing more then we export. Want to know something funny? Canada exports their garbage and dumps it in YOUR states! Your government would rather take money from Canada to dump garbage, then put money into much needed social programs! Americans come across the border or MOVE here in order to recieve FREE health-care and surgeries, sure the wait is longer, but atleast it wont cost me a second mortgage to have a child. Our government embraces its diversity and tries to help all the different people who live here! We also are the bread basket of the world, as in we produce and export so much grain (especially to the states) that we keep the planet populated with bread. We have the most fresh water on the globe in our possession, We are less polluted then you, animals run free in our VAST open areas, we have fresher air and more space per human being then you do!

Canadians have fought, died and demonstrated enormous amounts of courage in every war, most notably in WW1. We die in a war in the middle east we didnt even start or care about. You would think that America would be the more mature, stable nation beings as its much older (independantly) but in reality we are the quiet, mature neighbour to the north. We may be quiet but as soon as it comes to American walking all over us, historically and to this day we dont take your shit. We kicked your ass in the war of 1812, so be thankful we gave back all the land we took from the 49th parallel to Virginia (ever wonder where your oh so precious star spangled banner comes from? or why your white house is white? oh thats right! you tried to take us over but instead we pushed you all the way back to your capital burnt down your white house and all that was left standing was the American flag!).

Canada has faults, dont get me wrong there are many things I wish I could change about this country and the way our government runs it, but do not go spouting your mouth off about Canada, because there are way to many good things about us compared to you, and there are way too many Canadian things/people you think are yours. The man who invented the telephone? Canadian, from Brantford ontario.Thomas edison (electricity/lightbulb)came from Canada. Wayne Gretsky? Mario Lameux? Sidney Crosby? well almost 3/4 of the NHL and someting like 95 of the top 100 hockey players of all time=Candian. Zippers, Zambonies, Mike Meyers, Jim Carrey, Catherine O'Hara,Donald sutherland, Elisha Cuthburt, Ryan Reynolds, Rachel McAdams,Eugene Levy, Keanu Reeves, Kim Katrell,BASKETBALL,electrical cooking range, electric prosthesis for children, snow-blower, snow-mobile, table-hockey, lacrosse, the list goes on and on!

Oh, and we won more gold medals then you did in the winter olympics, meaning we had more WINNERS (1st place) then you... oh, and we beat you at hockey too...
there you think that sounds stupid and ignorant? That is EXACTLY what Americans (majority) sound like everytime they open their mouths and thier extreme concieted-ness comes pouring out...all about how GREAT they are....

In the end...all this ranting is to demonstrate that while Canada may not be perfect, by GOD the USA is far from saintly and perfect!
Dont talk shit about some one else, because they can talk shit right back at you USA!

And as for those americans on here who actually stood up and put the ignorant Americans in their place, by demonstrating that there is alot wrong the with states too and dont be a hypocrit, GOOD JOB! if there were more Americans like you, it would be a better place. If ALL countries had more people to step and and say "hey were not perfect either..." what a wonderful world this would be.

PS: my family has lived in North America (including the states) almost since the beggining of white people settling here, and NONE of us are inbred. And I am pretty sure I had heard the same inbreeding rumour coming out of the American south too...those piss ass tiny towns, hicks marrying cousins-and your OWN people say that! Again anything we are supposively, you are too!

So keep your mouth shut... and I am sure some overly proud American is going to come back at this long statement I have written at full force, trying to prove it all wrong and bash Canada like mad. But here is the difference...I dont care. I know the reality of things. Spout off as much as you want, but I have the world agreeing with me...who you got? Diss Canada as much as you want, but I can sleep at night because there is less murder and crime, the world doesnt hate me, the government helps me pay for my university, I can be accepted for who I am, i am not unemployed, it wont cost me an arm or leg to fix my other arm or leg, I love my couch, i dont live in an igloo (its 35 degree celcius right now), I enjoy pop not soda, beavers are great and so are tuks, balaclavas, snow-mobiles, drinking legally at 19 years old, I dont actually say "eh" every other word,I like being able to leave my windows open at night and my door unlocked, peace-keeping is the way to go, its (sounds) ABOWT not ABOOT and ROOF not RUFF...and its ZED not ZEE (Z) Colour not Color, Theatre not Theater....I can go on.
If you dont like Canada...we dont care...cause we dont like you either....so say what you want..Ill sit back and not care...
Oh...and the documentary...shame-ful, shame-ful....never should of been like that!

    1. all i can say is....WOW......lol and thank you for being proud of our country even with its faults......again thank you :)

  55. The catholic church, it's policies, complicity's & hierarchy = fear & loathing - be very, very afraid. The New World Order is not new. Do NOT be poor and 'dis'-connected on this planet. I can get behind this man, even though he is a christian - he is a christian with a humanistic soul, his message is mighty - amazingly brave and correct man.

  56. @ Proud Canadian

Actually, you DO hear of Holocaust survivors passing on the same torment to their children and grandchildren. And survivors of Japanese internment camps. And Native survivors of genocidal attempts on their cultural, spiritual, and physical lives. (just to name a few)

It is called "historical trauma" or sometimes "intergenerational trauma." Historical trauma was originally defined by Maria Yellow Horse Braveheart (Oglala Lakota) in the late '80s as "cumulative emotional and psychological wounding over the lifespan and across generations, emanating from massive group trauma." She's been largely responsible for spreading the word about this amongst native populations, but it actually comes from work done by numerous Jewish scholars on the same phenomenon occurring amongst children and grandchildren of Holocaust survivors.

Counselors and other people who work with Native/First Nations populations are increasingly using this theoretical framework to address substance abuse, interpersonal violence, and emotional issues amongst these populations with great success! This idea rings true with a lot of people, I think...

  57. First of all, I am a PROUD Metis Canadian. It is not just Canada that these atrocities happened. If you look into your American History books, it happened in America as well. It is very sad that any of this ever happened. We also know that The First Nations People will never get a formal public apology. What I don't understand is why they don't try to move on, and rise above it. I really think that because of everything that has happened to the First Nations People it is now impacting the lives of thier children, and thier grandchildren. Why not stop the cycle of abuse now? You don't hear of Holocaust survivors passing on the same torment onto thier children, and grandchildren.

  58. It is easy to see why history is not mandatory in schools, so much of it is tainted or Americanized anyway. Luckily the British had Native allies who fought for Canada in 1812-14...(they were not decimated as in the USA) Bring it on General Custer... The Canadian Gov needs to settle a few land claims with the Original Peoples...who were OK until the conquering Europeans f#%*ked things up! Some people who make insidious comments have trouble seeing past their nose! ADVISE -101 GO VISIT A LIBRARY

  59. @experimental designation. your scatter-pointed sermon makes it very clear that you were born in '91. you sound like a cultist.

  60. and we are still carrying on with the very same patterns of behaviour in every day life (albeit in more subtle ways)...people need to wake up and smell the coffee...then we will all have peace

  61. I am from Vancouver Island and attended the United Church for 12 years there. When I was younger there was no mention of the history of the local Natives.
As I got older and I went to college I started to realize how racist I was towards Natives. It disturbed me and I wanted to find out why the Natives from my hometown were in such bad shape.
The disgusting past of how we treated the Native population is horrible and people in Canada still don't know why a lot of the reservations are still unable to recover.
This is a great documentary and should be watched by all Canadian high school students. We can't chnage the past but I hope we can do far more to help our Canadian First Nations brothers.

  62. @Shugga

Your absolutly right. I was assuming it was about colonial times. After watching this I can't articulate the shock and disgust I'm feeling right now.
I've alway's assumed the majority of problems with native comunities was due to an apologetic government handing them check's every month and a general lazy attitude and sense of entitlement.
I never dreamed of something so devious going on. In fact if I hadn't heard it comming directly from the mouth's of those effected, then common sense would not allow me to believe it.
I'm completly sickened, and I vow to help them somehow.

  63. @allan

Dont comment if you have NO idea what this is about.

Your views are almost childishly simple. Furthermore, this doc is not at all about land, it's about the systematic torture of CHILDREN.

Please think before you post your offensive brainfarts!

  64. I haven't watched this doc yet but my intial comments are...if you can't beat em, join em. We've created a wel-fare state for the first nations. This needs to stop, we should not feel guilty about any of this, land is taken by war, it's a fact. These treaty's are f'in rediculous and embarressing. By the way, I'm half native.

  65. True, Vatican wealth "Truly astonishing"

The Vatican has a treasure of gold to be estimated at more than several billion dollars, and with todays gold prices, could be double.

But that is just a small portion of their wealth.
The Catholic Church is the biggest financial power wealth accumulator and property owner in existence.

She is a greater possessor of material riches than any other single institution, corporation, bank, giant trust, government or state of the entire World. Minimum worth to be 15 to 20 billion dollars. But their may be much more that is unknown.

  66. Yavanna, no need to despair, celebrate your own inherent worth! detractors can go where they like...

I will delve into RCC and freemasonay. I had a book on The History of Freemasonary in America, but of course lent it and it's gone.

RCC was involved in a scandal because they had shares in contraceptives! Word is that Pope John Paul I was murdered because he was going to expose other nefarious deeds of the RCC. He had made statements that pretty much stated his position to clean house.

What a system we have, somebody always vs somebody and not in the sense of progress but annihilation. Look how much of our lives involves this polarity. No wonder the Buddhists want to get out of this cyclical existence.
I like the ideology of the yin-yang. It explains so much but I hope that the current state of seeming unbalance especially human affairs will soon shift to something more uplifting and caring. Think I am despairing of this occuring...

  67. Yananna Bananna I dont mind - this must be "be nice to yavanna day" some days I despair...

Sunny you mention you are conspiracy driven but so few CTs menation the RCC's involvement with freemasonary - just a lead you might wish to research. Start with knights of Malta, CFR etc.

    They are very inter-connected.

As for the financial aspects of the RCC - Provincial churches and districts are kept destitute but the main body is not only politically powerful but immensely rich. They control corporations, governments. They reputedly own satellites and Nasa probes. Depending on what stories you wish to believe of course.

My view of history is becoming like this: Catholicism Vs Islam. The current world events seem to confirm this and historically that's what its all been about.

  68. OOPs! It is Yavanna not Yananna...sorry...

  69. Hi Yavanna!

You are welcome, I like discussing these matters with intelligent/thoughtful people.
I don't understand why religions act like this either. My aunts and I ponder this often. One thought I have is that the people in charge are stunted, power crazed, and insensitive. They most likely were abused themselves. I question whether they believe what they preach or just love the power they have.

In the RCC it was a practice that at least one child would become a priest or nun, imagine being coerced into a position you did not want?

The other thing is that historically the RCC became a political entity in order to survive. This is why its name is the Roman Catholic Church; in order to stop the vendetta against early christians the church agreed to recognize the Roman emperor as it's head. Also, when Constantinople became a christian and commanded his people to follow christianity it wasn't due to the BS story of his remarkable conversion. It was a political move between him and the early church. So if one looks at this religion thing from this perspective it is based on a faulty foundation of pride and lust for power not love. I may be a bit conspiracy driven but I think the RCC is still a major player in politics, eg. for what reason did George Bush rush over to the Vatican after he invaded Iraq? He looked pretty sheepish.

All of the other so called christian churches are just off shoots of the catholic church. It is so funny how the protestant churches all claim they have the truth and say the catholic church is wrong when their root is the same and they use the same bible.

The local RCC's have taken financial hits. They've had to sell off land and buildings. I'm not sure how much gets to the victims or if it goes to lawyers (probably protestant ones hehe).

It is a terrible disgrace the the RCC is still not taking responsibity and remains unaccountable. I am amazed there are still people attending this outfit. The pope could flog some paintings or some of the gold inside the Vatican. The pope could be flogged for spreading so much misinformation and enslaving minds.

I don't know what exactly is behind this universe but I do think that there is something. I call it a higher mind, great spirit or whatever as I can't think of a different term and the word god has too many connotations that I find reprehensible. Logically I can't prove it but as Yananna noted it is built into us. I've had experiences that speak to me on an intuitive/psychic level. Whatever it is, it is bigger than our minds can fathom at this point.

As for the bible there are some useful tools in it. But I don't think modern people understand the mindset of the ancient writers. Many of the words don't mean the same thing as we think, the symbology also comes from a different psychological framework. And it has been manipulated so much over time who knows what it originally said. The words are still manipulated by those with personal agendas. Then of course there is how it was compiled in a time when people were still superstitous and narrow minded.

If Pelgarius had become accepted more than Augustine we would have a whole different way of looking at the bible plus religion wouldn't be so punative and controlling.

The best explaination for this book that I've heard so far is that it is a Kabbalistic (not that Madonna crap) text that describes in metaphor the development of a person.

*There was a really good doc series on PBS a few years ago about the history of popes which explained the churches history as well. Sorry can't think of name off hand.
*I found The Book of Judas (on this site) eye opening.

  70. Does not surprise me. Everywhere the white man invaded you will find this story over and over and over and over again. Interesting documentary, but like everything else nothing will be done about it. PEACE to the human family who spreads knowledge, wisdom, understanding, freedom, justice, equality, food, clothing, shelter, love, peace, and happiness.

  71. blue eyed WHITE man is the SATAN walking like a hungry lion...

  72. Thanks Sunny1

That makes a lot of sense, thanks for the reply. We as mankind will probably never know the absolute truth and therefore it might never be discovered whether or not there is there is such a "mind" or consciousness which began creation. I think this sort of spirituality is part of all of us and most of us would wish it to be true in one form or another. I`ve even heard Richard Dawkins say this.

But for the religions to arrogantly proclaim the truth based on books thousands of years old written by bronze age nomads: it offends my sensibilities that modern people still believe in such. And more still they still follow their religions when they can (and do) easily learn their dark history and the ongoing abuses perpetrated.

Sunny1 what I don't understand is why religions behave in the way they do towards the people that follow them. And how they can possibly expect people like yourself not to become disenfranchised. It's almost as if they are deliberately driving people away.

Take the Canadian issues in this doc too. The RCC could compensate the victims in a heartbeat; out of pocket change. It could return lands and help individuals suffering from their abuses to recover. The RCC is considered to be in control of half the planets wealth despite its pauper act. That sort of collateral would go a long way in repairing their image and redressing it's harms.

  73. Response to Yavanna: I absolutely do not follow this religion or any other organized religion. This was in part due to the hypocracy I saw between love vs power/control and because in my teens I noticed in church one day that we were all saying the Lords Prayer yet I was thinking about other things. I thought that there was something seriously wrong when your mouth says the words but your heart and mind are elsewhere. The rituals are meaningless and the sermons are meant to disempower people. Ever since then I have searched elsewhere.
Except for one aunt who became a nun no one else in my family is Catholic anymore.
I do believe that there is a "mind" behind creation but do not espouse the common "god" view that religions spout. I believe we all have our own path and our own experience of the divine. Religions are just prisons for human growth and potential.

  74. This really opened my eyes to how little I know about Canada and it's history.

Sunny1's post is interesting. May I ask; do you still choose to follow this vile religion knowing what you know and how you have personally experienced it's abuses?

    1. I have loved ones who are catholic. They live their faith! These are bad men to them as they are to us. They blame the men and not the church.

  75. This is so ridiculous they were practicing genocide to eliminate the natives yet now Canada is a multi-cultural society. The government allows so many immigrants from other countries but we eliminate the ones already here!? Why shouldn't Natives be equal Canadians like the rest of us.

Oh and I do not take responsibility for any of it. I did not make any of the decisions. I never have. I do not accept being considered part of this culture - I do not identify. I am a individual dammit and I was born in 1991.

Kevin Annett’s values are humanistic. The fact that some of his values are written down in some verses in the bible is not amazing. After all the bible is a work of men and contains both a little good and much evil.

But forget all notion of good and evil. This world is about survival of the fittest. Power and dominance.

God is imaginary. Whatever good we find in Christianity can exist without it. This minister merely likes the nice idea that 'Jesus' brings - justice for the outsider, the little guy. but this is what he has taken from it - He ignores the rest of the bible. God is invisible - we give 'him' form by adding our power, our values like love, joy, etc. We give the invisible man clothes.

Organized religion is evil. This film makes me sick. Their is no excuse. No backpedaling. No excuses or apologists. Lets deal with reality and move forward. Their is no God. Only People. Powerful people, evil people, simple people, wise people.

So the light of truth should finally shine - Utopia (comparatively) above the 2000 plus years of mid-evil darkness. 2000 years of turmoil. Of mental anguish. Of ignorance.

  76. Christianity is a imperialistic religion. Religion is the only method to get good people to commit evil deeds.

God is imaginary. God is the ultimate excuse. The bible is usefully contradictory - it contains a definition of hypocrisy but is itself hypocritical.

Ancient and traditional Organized Religion is the enemy of all notion of human rights - and must be destroyed.

  77. This is a widespread aspect of colonisation. Australia has the stolen generation, Magdalena Girls in Ireland.

    Sunshine is the best disinfectant.

  78. Some of you are sooo funny, wish I'd thought of it....
Well, this doesn't make me proud at all not in any country to any person.
I'd like to point out that blacks in Canada weren't treated exactly as equals, the Chinese still are wanting an apology, the Japanese were treated abominably, the East Indians (especially in the '70's) were jeered at, everyone that immigrated was called a DP when I was a kid in the 60's, even as a child born in Canada I was teased about my Hungarian roots so nobody has gotten a free ride (except maybe WASP's and who know what went on in their homes).
Also, I went to a Catholic day school for 6 years. 98% of students were Aboriginal. There was no discrimination between white or native, we all got beaten and abused equally.
    When will we play nice???

  79. If anyones interested the website hiddenfromhistory.org has a lot of interesting articles relating to this.

This is so heartbreaking, but it confirms what I had already suspected. I feel as a white Canadian so much part of the problem just through complacency. It's hard to know what to even do! How could I possibly make right, what a government and (false) church has made so wrong. I think it's important for all Canadians, however helpless we feel to at least acknowledge that we believe what these people are saying. I hope the next time that I see an aboriginal on the street that I can have the courage to approach them and tell them that I simply believe them, what happened (happens) to their people and it breaks my heart also.

  80. @ Andrew

...you're kidding, right? If so: good job.

    If not, it's even funnier.

  81. i have not watched this i cant due to abuse that i sufferd from age 6 to 11, i do know the story behind it. i am canadian and my closest friend is of the onida peoples. his family settled on the muncie reservation after forced from there land by the american goverment. (good example eh andrew)across the road from my house is a small church which was the last stop of the underground railroad do you know what that was andrew. my best friend even acknoweledge the fact that the beliefs of people are diffrent now and we must forgive old ways if we are to move on to new ones. the canain goverment has made a public apoligy and set up a compensation board although thier is no way to compensate for such behaviore. i have one question what about all the people out there like me abused by john and yes jane doe (abuse by weman is on the rise)were is our compensation

  82. Well said SeanP. Me love you long time.

  83. Andrew

The blame is borderless. Both Canada and the US have treated the native peoples of North America in an appalling manner. There is no justification for any actions this vile but to take one incident and blame the blatantly planned genocide of the the entire population of north America on one event is naive and insulting to the millions of people who's lives were destroyed by all European coming to the Americas. Schools just like these ones were found all over the States with over 100 000 children forced to attend. The sexual abuse and forced assimilation was just as rampant and horrific. In 1987 the FBI found evidence that John Boone a BIA teacher (bureau of indian affairs) was found to have molested 147 boys in Arizona. This is not an old problem it is an ongoing one.

In short stop pointing a finger, acknowledge the problem as a whole and vote accordingly.

    PS

I must apologize, we Canadians rudely overlooked your moral example. Our attention was diverted by the loud noise of your constantly rattling sabers.

  84. @Mike--

I'm pretty sure American slavery and our own (related to Canada's) genocide of natives is much, much worse and went on much, much longer than Hitler's reign in Europe. Don't let the Zionist media wash your brain, defaulting your perspective to think that 'the Holocaust' was the worst thing to ever happen to humans, etc. Nonsense. Silly sheep.

  85. Kevin Annett, Another leading example of a true solder of the Light. He says it right in the light in the end how it is Bro!

  86. @Andrew buddy..

I think you are completely mistaken. Who told you that b*******? How could the United States be any kind of example except on how to be a tyrannical nation sending war wherever it wants, killing millions of innocent people for resources??? Your a fool and should not open your mouth EVER!
And to those who say they never thought Canada was capable of this. All humans are capable of this as well as all humans are capable of compassion, dont start grouping a whole country of people over what a handful of evil people did 50 years ago. Germans are not all nazi's. I hope you get what im trying to say, that judging a group of people because of a fews actions is wrong. If you want to learn more on this subject and who the "bad apples of canada and america are look up the idea of Eugenics. That is the cause of this genocide in question and the Jewish genocide. Again dont just think you know do the research

  87. Andrew, this nation aborts more babies than any other country on the planet. We have a larger drug problem and almost 250,000 children disappear each year. We are over run with pedophiles and we march all over the planet killing and stealing in the name of a monster god.

  88. @ Andrew

I think we American are the last people to pass judgment on anyone (well except for the Germans)

with that said, this is pretty disturbing. never thought Canada was capable of this.

  89. @ Andrew:

Moral example??? (LMAO) You must be from the bible belt!

Inbreeding?? explain that to me. I am Canadian.

  90. We Americans really go out of our way to act as a moral example for you Canadians, and then you go and do something like this. It seems like all the worst, most vile people come from Canada. I saw a documentary that this is because of all the inbreeding.

    1. @ andrew --- soo to follow your "moral example" canada should start wars with poor countries, kill innocent men, woman and children, steal their countries oil, gold and anything else we can get our hands on, set asside 708 billion dollars just for war oh oh oh and threaten other countries telling them if they do not help us we will cut them off of everything they get from us and go to war with them??? im glad canada has its own morals.....although this doc is something as a canadian i am NOT proud of......oh i you should update yourself on "your" country as it has a high rate of "inbreeding" as you like to call it. grow up and get a clue. or maybe you cant because your inbred.....

  91. Dustin, you are 100% correct and as a white American, this issue causes me shame just as the regret I have for how my forefathers treated black people. The Indians were much more kind and civilized than these so-called christian mongrels. It takes the lowest of scum to rape a child and pedophilia has always been rampant in all religious but far worse in all forms of christianity.

We all need to wake up and free ourselves from political and religious lies and treat each other with compassion and kindness. I saw this video about a year ago and it broke my heart. Animals don't treat one another the way we 'humans' do.

  92. My uncle married a native women from Greenville, British Columbia. Her father ran to the mountains and lived wild untill it was safe to go back to the village. THE INDIAN ACT HAS GOT TO BE ABOLISHED. This time in Canadian history is very dark indeed. As a Canadian that is close to this issue but not native myself I see peoples attitudes towards first nations and it makes me cry.. People just dont understand what they go through. My cousins are both white and native, but to white people they are native and to native people they are white...We are all human, please treat others the way you would like to be treated...

  93. Religion sucks..
