The PresidentsThe Presidents is an unprecedented eight-part survey of the personal lives and legacies of the remarkable men who have presided over the Oval Office.

From George Washington to George W. Bush, The Presidents gathers together vivid snapshots of all 43 Commanders in Chief who have guided America throughout its history - their powerful personalities, weaknesses, and major achievements or historical insignificance.

Based on the book To the Best of My Ability, edited by Pulitzer Prize-winner James McPherson, The Presidents features rare and unseen photographs and footage, unexpected insight and trivia from journalists, scholars, and politicians such as Walter Cronkite, David Brinkley, Wesley Clark, Bob Dole, and former President Jimmy Carter.

About the only useful info was who the presidents were and "SOME" of the things going on at the time. Definitely not the commentary.

The commentary about those things were often hogwash. For example the commentator on progressive(which means socialist-communist) Wilson that his instituted Federal Reserve has maintained stability of the currency is a bald faced lie. Where was the reporting that Wilson stated that he made a great mistake by signing that central bank act into law?

Any 8 year old shown the percentage theft of the value of the dollar since the Banksters took over via the Federal Reserve would agree. Clearly the intellectually bankrupt collectivist rot out of academia has been around for a long time and they keep feeding it to our kids.

Quite the white wash of the white house occupants. A misinformation of history. A clear lesson that one should not limit themselves to singular sources of information.

It seems clear who owns the History Channel.

I have this film and I find it useful although I find some of the individuals commenting on the various presidents to be extremely bias in their remarks almost to the part of slander. "Historians" are suppose to be objective.....what a laugh! Some of these "hitorians" are nothing more than propagandists for their leftist ideology.

Five middle school students looked in the mirror today and saw an ugly person for the first time in their lives after being forced to sit in a dark American classroom and watch this terrible documentary.

This "unprecedented" president documentary has the same production quality as a GED video. (In case you've never seen one, it's cheap crap.)

I wish I could use this video for toilet paper. North Koreans would enjoy this more than I. Did the music team understand that George Washington wasn't an astronaut? Just because you've learned how to use the movie effects on Power Point doesn't mean you should start making documentaries. If I could get paid to narrate a program by reading from a 5th grade text book, I would try to sound the least bit excited.

I agree Davross. The background ''music'' is an absolute crime against the intelligence. Good documentary sullied by the constant drone of elevator music.

      i didn't even notice it ~ (%) ~

  6. Davross

what is with that constant, annoying background music?

Interesting that the last President on the list will probably be remembered as the worst. Or very nearly. "Not intelectually curious". That about says it!

Great doc. I think Taff is my favourite for some unknown reason but despite his religiosity Carter has a spot in my heart for honesty and hard work.

We really glossed over the mexican-american war there, didn't we...

Now that's a doc I`d like to see...
