'Terrorism' is obvious double speak; it's use should be avoided. Also, 'fascism' was always an inadequate description of repressive regimes.
Really good and rare coverage here. I could sure do without the background music though. It's distracting and does not serve to promote the views presented.
a_no_n, The british g'ment placed Iceland on the same list of terrorist when their banking system was collapsing so they could dispossess them of their property on English soil.........just saying, what was initially drawn up for use against terrorism, was eventually used against corporations, to protect the interest of its citizens, still outside the scope for the creation of the bill.

I care not to watch this movie but have found alot of great info in the comments. America. After watching politics for over 45 years I can agree,this is not the America envisioned by the founders. the silenced masses has some great comments. My question is: what can we do about it so late in the game?

All this documentaries suggestions would do is create a massive power vacuum that would be eventually filled by either the Mafia or some sort of corporate entity.
Do these people not see that the ones who fight the hardest for smaller government and no regulations are the richest people in society...does that not tell these people something?

The American government has taken away so many basic constitutional rights pertaining to individual freedom that it is ridiculous anyone could try and make an argument that Americans are free, because they can own guns. America does not rank in the top forty countries for freedom of the press. Social inequality is the worst in the world. The American government has overthrown more democratically elected governments than any nation in history. The government is bought and paid for by corporate interests rendering America democracy meaningless. America is a plutocracy and individual freedom is an a badly maintained illusion
You think that American freedom only comes from Gun ownership?
Whilst i don't disagree with the notion that American politics has been bought of by corporate interests, do you not see that the NRA and the industry it represents is a huge part of that? The NRA has one of the largest funded political lobby's in the entire world, it is a direct contributor to that problem.
In England, we have a pretty much zero tolerance to Gun ownership, but if i wanted to, i could start now get myself licenced and own a shotgun or a rifle before the end of May, for less than a thousand pounds...
Bearing all of that in mind, what freedom have you actually lost?
(EDIT: after a second thought it would probably cost closer to £1500 because you have to buy and install a particular standard of gun safe...i hadn't considered that cost in my initial figure.)
I'm not American, I'm Canadian, and we are in the same boat as the US and the UK. If you honestly have no idea what freedoms we have all collectively lost, than you have not been paying attention to the news for the last 14 years, and you must have no historical knowledge of your own rights and freedom or the right constitutional rights of Americans and Canadians.
A quick internet search will open your eyes. There thousands of articles on this subject along with academic papers, books and documentaries. I'm sure you must be aware of the fact the the British people are the most watched people on the planet, with the more CC cameras than any other country.
Take the time to learn what our governments are doing in the name of "national security"
So naming just one shouldn't be all that hard.

1st AMENDMENT FREEDOM OF SPEECH
• The Patriot Act broadly expands the official definition of
terrorism, so that many domestic groups that engage in
nonviolent civil disobedience could very well find themselves
labeled as terrorists.

of any other records if they reveal that the government
requested information on their clients or members in the
course of an investigation. It has become a crime for these

that you are under investigation.
1st AMENDMENT FREEDOM OF ASSOCIATION
• Government agents may now monitor the First Amendment-
protected activities of religious and political institutions, and
then infiltrate these groups with no suspicion of criminal
activity. This is a return to domestic spying on law-abiding
religious and political groups.
• You may now be the subject of a government investigation
simply because of the political, activist, or advocacy
groups you are involved in, or the statements you make
within these groups.
1st AMENDMENT RIGHT TO ACCESS
GOVERNMENT INFORMATION
• A U.S. Department of Justice directive actively encourages
federal, state, and local officials to resist and/or limit access
to government records through Freedom of Information Act
(FOIA) requests.
• The Government has conducted immigration hearings in
secret behind closed doors. Such proceedings were once
open to the public. Hundreds, if not thousands, of immigrants
have already been deported in secret.
4th AMENDMENT FREEDOM FROM UNREASONABLE
SEARCHES &SEIZURES
• Law Enforcement authorities may now conduct secret searches and wiretaps in your home or office
without showing “probable cause.” They need only to claim that intelligence gathering is “a significant
purpose” of their intrusion, even when the primary goal is ordinary law enforcement. They may also
monitor where and to whom you send and receive e-mail, or where you go on the Internet, recording
every e-mail address and website you have been in contact with.
• Law Enforcement may now demand any personal records held by any source including your doctor,
employer, accountant, or library. All they have to do is claim that it is related to an investigation into
“terrorism.” The record keepers may not reveal that your records were provided to the government.
• Judicial oversight of secret searches has been effectively minimized. The Patriot Act directs judges to
consent to secret searches based only on the Government’s assertion that a “significant” purpose of
an investigation is gathering information related to “terrorism,” as the government defines it.
5th AMENDMENT RIGHT TO DUE PROCESS & FREEDOM FROM BEING
HELD WITHOUT CHARGE
• Americans can now be jailed without a formal charge & without the right to confront the witnesses or
evidence against them. American citizens are now being held in military jails without charge and with-
out a clear path of appeal for their indefinite confinement.
• Hundreds of Arab, Muslim and South Asian men were rounded up in the Ashcroft raids following
September 11, and held for weeks without charges until all were cleared of terrorism charges
6th AMENDMENT RIGHT TO LEGAL REPRESENTATION
• Hundreds of U.S. residents have been detained for months at a time, and denied access to the advice
and advocacy of an attorney. The Government may now monitor conversations between attorneys &
clients in federal jails.
• The Bush Administration filed papers in court that arguing that an American citizen held in a military
jail without charge should be denied access to legal counsel because such access would interfere with
the process of his interrogation.
6th AMENDMENT RIGHT TO A SPEEDY AND PUBLIC TRIAL
• The U.S. Government may now jail its residents and citizens indefinitely without charge & without a public trial.
8th AMENDMENT FREEDOM FROM CRUEL AND UNUSUAL PUNISHMENTS
• The U.S. Government has taken into custody individuals they identify as “material witnesses,” trans-
ported them across the country, and held them for months in solitary confinement without charge or
contact with their family.
• According to the Justice Department’s own Inspector General, immigrant men rounded up in the
Ashcroft raids following September 11 and held in the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, NY
were subjected to a pattern of “physical and verbal abuse.”
14th AMENDMENT RIGHT TO EQUAL PROTECTION
• Over 82,000 men from Arab, Muslim and South Asian countries registered with the Government
under the Special Registration program. Over 13,000 are now in deportation proceedings. None
have been charged with terrorism.
Now take the time to research for yourself and learn about all the other rights people throughout the West have lost under the false pretense of "national security"
And, no, it wasn't hard. So what's your excuse for not taking two minutes to do it yourself?
Ok cards on the table, that is a really good argument, and you do most certainly have a very good point, but dispite all of that, whilst these abuses of power certainly chip away at your rights, they don't actually take any of them away, you can still say whatever you want, meet with whoever you want, you can still request information, etc etc.

You're problem is two-fold. First you don't understand the concept of constitutional freedoms, or, why they are important and how hard past generations fought for them. If you understood these things, you wouldn't be rationalizing the attack on our freedoms.
Second, this is a gradual, on-going process that has been going on for fourteen years, and each year more rights are being taken away.
Here in Canada our government is trying to pass the some of the most repressive laws in all of the "democratic" West. Under the new proposed laws protestors can been deemed terrorists, meaning many of their constitutionalists can be denied. Worse still, the new laws will make certain forms of torture legal. Hows that for "freedom"?

Two minutes in and I knew this was one of those "throw it at the wall and see what sticks" documentaries. Calling a person a corporation is a huge leap beyond the function and definition of the word. I think it's been proven that an infant can neither sign it's own birth certificate or have the legal understanding required to make this a legally binding document in the manner that's presented to the viewer. So the premise that we inadvertently signed on is utter nonsense. And if we were corporations we wouldn't be treated like human beings; instead we'd be treated as corporations, which would make all forms of incarceration illegal. There's just too much wishful jumping here. Are we salves? We have created a society that requires money as a necessity of survival, so in that sense you could say we have the choice to be a slave that can choose their master, or we could become our own masters buy creating our own businesses.

I call BS. You cannot sign your inalienable rights away. A signature is meaningless, and no one need account for signing anything, ever. If rights are taken away, they can only be taken away by force. That is the way of the world.
If only that were actually true but in this system there is more than meets the eye.
Does anyone posting have a law degree? Can we really walk into court and declare no legal ties? Can we really drive without a licence and insurance?
You can do those things but I doubt it will work out that well. Wishful thinking. Try to tell the arresting officer that you don't need a driver's licence. I think he'd still write you up and impound your vehicle. You could try and stop him but I think that this could land you in jail. Try it and let us know how it worked out. It would be a great social experiment.

Our 'inalienable' rights are rapidly disappearing! From the PATRIOT ACT to the recent NDAA, which has removed the last vestige of guaranteed due process. This should terrify everyone but Americans have not even blinked! These laws are written to include Americans and have literally left us on a knife's edge subject to a whole host of laws that are rife with the potential for abuse. If history has taught us anything it is the 'absolute power corrupts absolutely' and so it is just a matter of time until they are horribly abused.
I'd like to know why he's using the Baron's banking definition of certificate to a birth certificate when they have nothing to do with banking... here's a regular dictionary definition "An official document attesting a certain fact, in particular" - that certain fact would be birth.
The guy at 24 minutes got towed, and he had to park his vehicle at his home. They didn't let him drive it away. The rest of the vid is on utube, it is cut from this documentary. The whole thing feels like cherry picked video...I have never seen the 'sovereign defense' used successfully. Even if the case is delayed or dismissed, they harass and fine the 'sovereign' anyway. The only answer is to have it fail, utterly and totally, and start over. Even the soft 'answers' are as corrupted as the minds of those who perpetuate the laws.

Why do low-skill documentary makers have to include gratuitous scenes from popular movies, anyways? Probably 50% of the film.
I agree with you there. A short 15 minute film where the author presents his most important ideas would be a lot more convincing than 84 minutes of bad music and worse editing.
