I made this documentary many years ago while in college. The Agency has gotten larger and less accountable. They use food to starve nations that are not agreeable to US policy and even poison children to discount Muslim and Communist countries.

  2. Abdul Baten

Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was killed by the CIA.. The government of Bangladesh did not reveal the secret of this killing to continue the friendly relations with the United States.

  3. moll

The CIA are no friends of democracy just look at their history and the involvement in killing Kennedy. They work for an elite cabal not the people.

  4. Challenger

@ aweful_truth you need to do some serious reading about the Vietnam war before you post anything else on the internet.

  5. meltonmark

. and as for the BS about OBL and 9/11...just hysterically ridiculous.

  6. meltonmark

It is all based on the grotesque notion that America has the right to invade and plunder other peoples' countries. Every single element of the West's propaganda, military, schooling etc, is based on this corrupt, evil belief.

  7. Sid

Well there's more. if anyone thinks the CIA has stopped most of this stuff, they'd be sadly mistaken. The CIA is still a rogue institution, is the most corrupt agency in the US and is a $30 billion black hole of murder, influence and propaganda around the world.

Simple, the CIA continues to this day, to do exactly anything and I mean anything it wants to do to effect a US world hegemony plus the political control of the US govt. The CIA did in fact create Osama Bin Laden and had the code named Tim Osman. He toured America in the 70's, he was a CIA protege. There is no moral compass.

Presidents do what they need to do...to stay alive.

  8. Bdoon

You people who sound so shocked about the CIA make me laugh. This is old news. You probably think you live in a real democracy too. Real political democracy is impossible without "economic democracy". Plus I have to question how good democracy really is when I see folks like Bush and Obama elected POTUS.

    1. John

      An treasonous Trump!

  9. awful_truth

The CIA is what happens when you tax the public, and give hordes of money, (and no rules) to a manifest destiny fascist dictatorship. Ultimately, the premise of their mindset is simple. Better to have everyone dying, and displaced abroad, then at home. Of course, you can do this as long as everyone at home is alcohol intoxicated, and brainwashed. (patriotism)
This does not mean that the Russians, Chinese, etc are any better; just that they are little less destructive, since they have less to lose.
The awful truth is humanity is a wretched thing, and if we think that we are the pinnacle of intelligence, it is because we have set our standards so low, (apathy) since we only think about today, at the cost of tomorrow!
    Any questions?

  10. Frank Thomas Morehouse

Actually, The Phoenix program was a success at every single level

    1. awful_truth

Okay, I'll bite. (how bad can it be?) Pontificate away as to what you consider 'a success at every single level'. (you have implied no down side, no failure)
P.S: let me drink the kool aid first before you respond so I can join in on your immoral dillusion!

    2. Frank Thomas Morehouse

Disruption of enemy communications, elimination of enemy personal and remember The Americans did not invade Vietnam they were there to help their ally the government of south Vietnam and the Phoenix program helped protect that government and those people. If it is killing your opposed to well then, too bad!

    3. awful_truth

No, the U.S 'invaded' Vietnam 'lying' about being attacked in international waters (Gulf of Tonkin incident) as a justification for its actions. (invasion) Furthermore, the U.S didn't help an ally, they created one by attempting to divide, and conquer Vietnam to help France maintain it's colonization, even though every member of the U.N voted for Vietnamese independence after the 2nd world war. (only America, and France voted against it; since America had a veto, that was the end of it) Vietnam fought alongside the allies in the 2nd world war - not just the south, but the entire country. The U.S has a habit of removing dictators, and democratically elected leaders by supporting insurgence which has caused irreparable damage around the world. (Iran, Chile, Cambodia, Korea, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Afghanistan, etc)
Since you appear to have no problem with killing, and displacing millions of innocent people for greed by subjugation, there is little chance for a rational discussion between us.
It should be noted that the U.S lost the war in Vietnam, which is why the sovereignty of the entire country of Vietnam is still intact today. (Losing is not success) Your lack of knowledgeable history has dealt you a tragic dis-service; it would appear that 9 11 has taught you nothing.
P.S: I don't have a problem with murderers being killed, just innocent people! (the difference between us)

    4. Frank Thomas Morehouse

Wow, your delusional, do not confuse the justification to the US people with the response to the South Vietnamese people. You are the only person on the planet that thinks the USA invaded vietnam. Try to control your emotion before your write next time

    5. awful_truth

Stating the facts has nothing to do with emotion. Your attempt at speaking for what everyone thinks is delusional, a by-product of American superiority propaganda.
P.S: Your concern for the South Vietnamese people is touching; too bad it hasn't translated beyond political boundaries to all people who are wrongly subjugated!

    6. Frank Thomas Morehouse

The United States was there at the invitation of the Government of South Vietnam, nod once if you understand this. The USA did not invade. As I said read your history books and its ok if you hate the USA, but there is no need for you to make simple mistakes, I suggest a college degree, maybe in world history...

    7. awful_truth

To begin with, I don't hate the U.S, or its people. (just hypocrisy) Secondly, how would you feel if California invited 500,000 Chinese troops to support them if they were no longer happy with American federal government policy? (sounds like an invasion to me) I am sure if you ask most Iraqi's today, they would gladly take a nut like Saddam over your so called liberation.
(another invasion into a foreign country who never attacked you)
I speak the truth, call a spade a spade, and am not interested in your brainwashed semantics.
Did you know that in Vietnam, they refer to your 'invasion' as 'the resistance war against America'. It would seem that your college degree in world history is useless outside of America.
P.S: American educators also teach their students that they won the war of 1812, even though the White House was burned to the ground, and Canada still exists today. It would appear that you make many simple(ton) mistakes!

    8. Frank Thomas Morehouse

No matter how much you try, the USA did not invade Vietnam. You have shown time and again that you hate the USA and you will twist even the most simple of facts to try and bend reality to fit your delusional scheme. Here is a good example, in 1963 when the were less then 500 American combat advisors (I did not look up the actual total), were those 500 men "Invading" Vietnam on their own or were they there on the behalf of the government of South Vietnam? Get your facts straight. Wow, you will even go to the War of 1812 and you are wrong again. I was taught the facts about the war of 1812 in school and no where was the word victory used. It was a complicated war and any attempts to simplify it just do not work. So to sum up again, the United States of America was in Vietnam because South Vietnam was being invaded by North Vietnam.

    9. awful_truth

Since you have no desire to educate yourself regarding how the issues in Indochina were created to begin with, you will never understand your own hypocrisy. All you know is the polarized idea of communism vs capitalism as a justification for your country to involve itself in affairs that were never your business to begin with. This is also why you cling to the idea that I somehow 'hate' the U.S. because I refuse to support imperial fascism any more than low brow communism. (George Bush - 'if you are not with us, than you are against us')
P.S: I am all for human solidarity, but at least I can question the motives of greed, and subjugation. (true terrorism) As with all people, I wish you the best, and hope for your sake that you never have to experience foreign intervention in American internal affairs. Just remember Frank that karma is a nasty lady, and considering the U.S reaction to 9 11, I would hope that empathy would translate into the American psyche for actions that killed millions! Take care, and best wishes Frank.

    10. Frank Thomas Morehouse

Seriously, what is wrong with you?

The facts are there for all to see the USA went to Vietnam becauses it ally (the people of South Vietnam) were under attack from the people of North Vietnam. I am sure we can at least agree on this. There really are not many people that can not figure this out for themselves, you can not. I have explain this to you as if you are a child. When you understand this let me know.

    11. awful_truth

Yeah, let us look at American allies. Iraq was an American ally who you armed to the teeth to fight Iran. Iran was an ally until they threw out the Shaw. (The man you put in place after the CIA deposed their democratically elected leader Mohammed Mosaddegh in 1953) Now their religious fundamentalists are running the show. (how is that working for you?) Bin Ladin was your ally trained by the CIA to help Afghanistan fight Russia. Then again, Russia was an ally in the 2nd world war until they had a nuclear weapon to match your own. (should I go on?)
The awful truth is you only have allies until they no longer serve your purpose, but hey, don't sweat it man. Now, you have 924 military installations in 155 countries around the world. (Hitler would be jealous)
America's attempt at manifest destiny (world domination) is not the American people's fault, The only thing they are guilty of is refusing to apply critical thinking,
Ironic how this mindset comes from a country of people who immigrated from Europe to get away from British control, yet now they are one of your best allies, because their empire is crumbling.
I attempted to end our discussion last time with best wishes, but you refuse to desist with your brainwashed, immoral bi-polar nonsense. Many people, and countries around the world used to look up to America, yet now they absolutely despise you, and now look up to Canada instead. Note: This is now at risk since King Harper has destroyed our peacekeeping attitude. (thank god he will soon be on his way out the door)
There is a reason why Canada was not involved in the Vietnam war, and why 40,000 Americans fled to our country to avoid it. It is the same reason why Daniel Ellsberg exposed 7,000 pentagon papers about American illegal activity in Vietnam, and was found innocent by the U.S Supreme court. It is also the same reason why Edward Snowden did the same thing, and is now hiding in Russia. It is for the same reason why Canada didn't support the war in Iraq - they had nothing to do with 9 11, and the oligarchs who control your country blamed them just so they could gain control over Iraq's oil resources. (the greed/subjugation attitude I was referring to previously)
P.S: Since my attempt at helping you see reality has failed so miserably, just ignore my comments, and go about your business. (can't say I didn't try!)

    12. Frank Thomas Morehouse

Ok, here is an easy question: On what day did the USA invade Vietnam and with how many men. What losses did they take that day and where did the invasion take place?

  11. citalotus8

    CIA= The real terrorists

  12. joedsavage

Here's a thought: STOP PAYING TAXES AND WITHDRAW YOUR MONEY FROM BANKS. That's the ONLY way short of a violent revolution to put an end to corrupt "government." If that happened watch how fast the powers that be **** a brick. What can the "government" do--throw 300 million people in jail?? Just a thought--which in reality,is the only viable solution.

    1. Gus Guiett

Why dont you go and live in any one of a number of muslim countries that are in the middle of a violent revolution and let us all know how you get on. The world is a mess because of mindless people like you who wouldnt know civalisation even if it Bit*h slapped you every morning. FOOL!!

    2. Terry Beaton

It's spelled 'civilization'. You seem rather too passionate over something you can't even spell properly. fool-

    3. disqus_hjAn0GwJz9

yeah and who is behind the revolutions in those countries, the BANKS. GO BACK TO SLEEP YOU SHEEPLE

    4. GonChalabas

You'd still be existing on whatever cash you've stashed and continue to earn, a currency that is value via relocated misery, and you'd travel Their streets and breath Their chemicals, not to mention all the food you'd eat has been dragged through the equivalent of The cleaning products aisle at costco.

  13. Jamie

Good video but it just toaches on the evil the CIA is involved in.They are the worlds biggest arms dealer and drug smuglers in the world. There is a book out I have not read it yet as the librarys are sold out and we have to wait because there is none ready to send at thins time, anyway the book is called Killing Hope by William Blum.It deals with all the known military and CIA intervensions since WW2.It tells about the death and distruction cused by the CIA.Look at JFK he said he was going to dismantle the CIA and rear it apart, also he said Israel would get nucular missels over his dead body.Well after JFK was muderd possible set up by the CIA and Israels Mossad.Today Israel has over 200 illegal nucular weapons, and when LBJ the vice president and president after JFK was assasinated did everything tottaly different than JFK said he would do.LBJ was in on it corrupt our threatend to do what he is told. The president don't pull the string I belive but if they told the public that the government was corrupt and he was threatend I think the military police and citizens would stand with a president that is a good person not a good politician.

  14. Mistymoo

Wow so basically they are terroists - how scary - didnt like this documentary

  15. Salah Brooklyn

what morocco has to do with this???????

  16. kerimartin

I WANT TO KNOW WHY THE CIA DO KILL PEOPLE but thas the cIa hate morrocco pleas waiting for your answer

    1. Tom Wheeler

morocccan shot callers have been 10 toes deep with another fraternal paradigm;one that gets their way, holds grudges, and operates/kills over generations(just like the cia or oni.) groups like that and other groups within groups like the jesuits or thule who organize things like the oss or cia never got along in 1000 years.
one of the best docus ever made came out a while ago that focuses on when spain was controlled by islam 10/10 just for the visually stunning and super detailed explanations of islamic architecture/art/poetry/history/philosophy/medicine/etymology/etc about the pre-radicalized islam of antiquity and it's relationship to european social movements;tons of detailed facts that explain the origins and agendas and bad blood between certain occult agencies you asked about. to have any real power in the intelligence world, you have to be born into it. the info in the docu. is common knowledge to those types, but the average honest citizen will definitely benefit from a little backstory to help grasp the abstract occult traditons and agendas on both sides of the crusades or the powerstruggles and influences, even the social awareness at crucial times like awakening from the dark ages to the rennaisance, which was just one result of islamic north african control, activity, and freedom of knowledge/technology brought and left on the european continent. for example: the arabic numbers we still use...even the design of some specific surgical utensils have barely changed.

sorry to write you a novel, just killin some time ;)

  17. JerryHarden

i would love to buy 35mm films on the cia

  18. Freeman1776

Its ironic to hear at the end of the video the woman say "American people say no, we cant do that, its immoral, its wrong, its against everything I believe in, its not patriotic" and as she is saying this, probably in the 1990's, we still haven't done a thing about the CIA or FBI or NSA or Homeland Security.

We swallow hook, line and sinker the notion that Freedom of Information act is really a transparent exposure of truth which is owed the American public. In fact, we are being pacified and allowed to believe that we've made headway in closer monitoring and regulating these agencies while we actually have lost total control. They, the named agencies which includes the CIA, have not more power and larger budgets and their involvements have now spawned into not only international ventures but the monitoring of American citizens as well.

No longer is there a mystique about covert operations, but instead, we abhor the unlimited freedoms which they have gained while we, the citizens, have lost ours.

Today the CIA as in the past, are taking their orders from a shadow government which entails the Council on Foreign Relations, The Trilateral Commission, and at the forefront of issuing orders is the National Security Agency which is one of the most powerful agencies in the world.

    1. Jason Farrey

Sure. Give the right to form a mob and have not a single agency help investigate it. Right to bear arms? With what policy. You sound like an anti legal. This is CIA. Forget about all the other agencies you lunatic. And dont say there isnt a difference. Some have more resources and protocol to follow than others. More information access is the only thing I see people bitching about. You want protection or not!!? You should be happy youre not near Taliban, and with an attitude like that, its easy as chewing a damned marshmellow to manipulate you people into one of the biggest mistakes you'd ever make. Ill tell ya what.

  19. forthetimebeing

This film intro needs a date, as does every documentary. Not a bad idea to have dates on the comments too.

This is an excellent film, which deserved vastly better production values. It is perhaps time to revisit this subject in a new film, which includes the context of the CIA, the economic hit men, the WTO, Congress,`tax dollars, and the covert budget allocations.

Amazing to see Sen. Moynihan call for dismantling the CIA. At least there was hope then and may yet be a glimmer.

  20. Osama Bin Layden

If the CIA where that good they could have put me up in a better cave. I want a 5 star ritz carlton cave, not a motel 6 cave

    1. vastawake

Yeah and then they could've mummified you and put you on display for all to see instead of giving you a muslim sea burial and having the american public read about the details of your life from your mistress in the National Enquirer... Will the madness never end?

  21. dan

this stuff is pretty much all true, everyone watching this should watch a video or read a book called confessions of an economic hitman, john perkins has come out and told his story, he was forced to make bogus economic reports that justified making huge loans(backed by the international monetary fund, and the world bank)to the third world, a debt so big it can never be repaid, all the while gathering interest, the money went to infrastructure projects which benefited only a few wealthy people in that country and the politicians who are playing their game and saying "look im modernizing my country" leaving the poor slaves holding a huge debt. then the USA government can come back and say hey you owe us money, let us build a military base in your country, or privitize your water system or school system, or sell your resources to us for real cheap, or vote with is in the next united nation meetings. a subtle global empire, the cia is partly in charge of breaking down governments that see what the USA empire is doing. there is probably still alot of horrible things the cia is doing that we just dont know about.

  22. Farren

As 9/11, the "War on Terror", the Patriot Act, the bumbling bullying TSA, the ballooning of the "defense" budget and the draining of money, resources, and jobs from the rest of the economy, .... and all of these other events show,

we must wake up as a people. To be a true patriot these days (November 2010, since date and time are not shown on comments anymore) means standing up to the very establishment that controls all mainstream media. They have a great many people in their grip, with opinions and incorrect news that suit the establishment only. The CIA is behind this "war" in Afghanistan, the "terror plots" that keep popping up on schedule, etc.

wake up, wake up, wake up, wake up, ad infinitum

  23. Inediblehulk

The CIA is an enormous hurdle to clear on our path to civilization, but so were irrigation and spaceflight. Little comfort to past or present victims, but many future generations can and will live free.

  24. Jonathan R

So what is the solution?? This dosen't say anything about the Nazi involvement in the early CIA & their fight against blacks
