Scientology And MeScientology and Me was a television documentary broadcast 14 May 2007 as part of the BBC's Panorama series. Reporter John Sweeney visited the United States to investigate whether the Church of Scientology was becoming more mainstream.

The programme gained particular controversy before and during filming due to unresolved differences on content and approach between Sweeney's production team and Scientology members, who did not want detractors or perceived enemies of the church to be interviewed or included in the documentary.

John Sweeney investigates the Church of Scientology, endorsed by some major Hollywood celebrities, but which continues to face the criticism that it is less of a religion and more of a cult.

Some former members claim the Church uses a mind control technique to put opponents at a psychological disadvantage. During the course of his investigation, Sweeney is shouted at, spied on, visited in his hotel at midnight and chased around the streets of LA by strangers in hire cars.

    Scientology is Satanism

This "religion" has a more sinister pyramid scheme than any company I've ever heard about. The whole thing's like one big soliciting/advertising campaign. Their only ideology revolves around how to get the most money from their members. They should change their name to $cientology. I also like how all the reporter has to do is stand back and wait for the members he is interviewing to make themselves look completely batshit crazy. XD

The question is DO they leave people free?

The XENU DOGMA IS told to those in OT III as verified by ex-CO$ members! I SO respect Mr. Sweeney for putting up with Tommy Davis' abuse. Tommy now is blown as well??? He's in Texas working as a managing director at a branch of Colony Capital!!! His wife, Jessica Feshbach, is now a realtor! What did they do to get on DAVID MISCAVIGE's bad side? It also amuses me that as spokespeople for CO$, Tommy & Jessica were the best at public speaking, which is such a 'discipline' for CO$! Most what you hear & read online are from those who even after spent thousands of $$ on 'courses' on communication...CAN'T!

I would just like to point out, that when he's talking at 5:40 (part 3) regarding the inter-galatic warlord. That isn't true, Hubbard wrote Science fiction novels and dedicated some of his work to the church of Scientology. As an individual who is fascinated by religion, this reporter has totally discredited himself by presenting such a biased view.

  7. Lydia Glassman

    this made me giggle.

  8. lol_what_am_i_saying

interesting. sure they r a cult and have a huge screw loose, but ppl r just extremely insicure, afraid of being left out, addicts to some sort of safety net and will blindly accept anything that gives them closure.
I find it interesting how this couple who lost their family to the church, seems to blame the church for the imprisoning of the rest of their family.
no one in their right state of mind signs up for scientoligy in the first place. what's wrong with the human race

This is brilliant....no doubt a cult!

Pre-suppositions are important in any belief. It is they whch allow the belief to continue. Space men!!!!! Enough said. And that scientoligist guy D is a s***!

  11. Justin_Funski

Scientology is not just a cult but the King of Cults. Being a "religion" is important to them only for tax breaks. It's all about the money and how much they can get out of any individual.

  12. Vic Demise

I find it funny that the reporter only starts yelling after being interrupted repeatedly by a man who himself was yelling and refuses to actually converse like a same human.

  13. Myra McQueen

    L. Ron Hubbard was able to brainwash even future generations into thinking they could cure their problems by going back into some past life, and there is no proof there ever was a past life, and how would any human know how to find it, if there was? But it made $millions for this dead guru while he lived. Unfortunately, he had to leave it for other merchandizers who are just as mercenary.

You can't get more incriminating evidence than top level Scientologists on camera stalking and harassing a journalist. Not to mention the money one pays to the organization, the reliance on the cult of celebrity, the targeting of desperate people like addicts and criminals, the disengagement of followers from family when they leave the "church", the huge propaganda machine, the smearing and defamation of dissenters of the organization, etc. This is a very interesting snapshot of how this organization works.

    1. Deborah Macaoidh-Selim

There are churches doing exactly the same. Not single thing you mentioned hasn't been done, and worse.

Scientology: More dangerous than any cult "aka "religion" that has come before it. The evils of scientology make all the evils "in the name of religion" of the past look like childs play.
    This is dangerous stuff...
    Very, very dangerous.

Liken l ron hubbard to the likes of hitler.

    1. Robbie Walters

to the likes of hitler. really. more akin to a suave leader like Jim Jones, but I guess, tomato, tomato.

    2. Robbie Walters

oh yes, and ... whats the difference between a cult and a religion, besides the number of followers? if enough people believed in scientology, maybe they would think your religion was the cult?
just because there is a majority view or majority belief really means nothing without more critical examination.

  19. BABS2U

ALL RELIGIONS, BY IT'S VERY DEFINITION, WORSHIP A CREATOR GOD OR GODS. CAN ANYONE EXPLAIN THE GOD OF SCIENTOLOGY TO ME? JUST WHAT DO THEY BELIEVE IN AND DO THEY EVEN HAVE A RELIGIOUSLY BASED DOCTRINE?

WHEN ANYONE USES ANY FORM OF MIND CONTROL, LIE DETECTORS OR METERS TO REGISTER THOUGHT PATTERNS TO ALTER ANOTHER HUMAN BEING'S RIGHT TO FREE WILL OR USES HYPNOSIS OR MESMERIZES THE SIMPLE MINDED WOULD BY EVERY DEFINITION DEFINITELY BE CONSIDERED A CULT. WHY DO SCIENTOLOGIST SO VEHEMENTLY REJECT BEING CALLED A CULT, EXCEPT THEY MIGHT LOOSE THEIR TAX RIGHT OFF IF THEY DIDN'T INSIST ON BEING CALLED A RELIGION.

WHAT I FOUND SO APPALLING WAS POOR SWEET KIRSTIE ALLY, SELLS HER HOME IN CALIFORNIA FOR AROUND 6 1/2 MILLION DOLLARS, BUYS LISA PRESLEY'S HOUSE IN FLORIDA FOR AROUND 1 1/2 MILLION SO SHE CAN BE CLOSE TO THE SCIENTOLOGY HEADQUARTERS AND THEN GIVES THE 5 MILLION DOLLARS PROFIT TO SCIENTOLOGY.

I HAVE HEARD MANY STORIES OVER THE YEARS ABOUT SCIENTOLOGY'S FOLLOWERS GIVING THEIR LIFE SAVINGS TO THEIR SO CALLED CHURCH AND THEN IF THEY SHOULD DECIDED TO LEAVE, THE CHURCH LETS THEM GO EMPTY HANDED AND EVEN DETACHES THEM FROM THEIR CHILDREN IF THEY CAN. NO GOD LOVING CHURCH WOULD EVER DO THAT! GOOD CHURCHES PROVIDES FOR IT'S HOMELESS AND TRIES TO UNITE FAMILIES, NOT SEPARATE THEM.

BACK IN THE 70'S, SHORTLY AFTER L. RON HUBBARD'S BOOK CAME OUT, I READ IT AND I SURE DIDN'T FIND ANYTHING WORTHY OF WORSHIP IN IT AND NEITHER DID MY FRIEND WHO GAVE ME THE BOOK. ALL I CAN SAY, IS THAT I FEEL SORRY FOR THE THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE WHO ARE SO SIMPLE MINDED OR THEIR LIVES ARE SO VOID OF LOVE AND ACCEPTANCE THAT THEY WOULD TURN THEIR LIVES OVER TO SCIENTOLOGY.

    1. Alan Strife MacDonald

religions do not all worship a deity, thats just wrong

    2. Robbie Walters

Religion does not mean the worship or belief in a god. Its a private connection shared only with yourself, and so in that way, ones religion may not be, by your definition, a religion.

    Helping one's self... Note:

Quit the T.V., ignore the media, read books, wright down your thoughts and ideas, and know that, in this infinite universe we are such a tiny miniscule piece of the puzzle. Too much time and energy is wasted on hate and war, worrying about everything except what's really important ...YOU. Live and let live and get on with a personal movement of growth. YES

  23. John J

Reporter did a lousy job, he mumbled his responses and didn't seem too prepared on how to fight back when your wits leave you, therefore leaving himself open for the offensive spew of Mr. Davis. In my opinion the report alone reveals the facts about a group of people, with whom themselves need nothing but a beleif that they can turn their lives around without the help of any one "religion".

It's all in how we treat ourselves. We as individuals have the amazing mind power to create the life we want to live. The more daily re-conditioning we do on our own, the more we are able to see more clearly the positive place we all need to be. No one said it was easy, and does anyone really have the answer? But as we are alone with are thoughts, we are the only ones to control those thoughts, good or bad.

    1. Guest

Well, that's not all they need. They also need a few thousand dollars from their members. They also need members to disconnect from their loved ones if their loved ones do not agree with the beliefs of scientologist. It is a cult...period. My parents are Catholic. I do not belong to the Catholic church. We have heated discussions about the views of the church and not once did a priest or member or the catholic church tell them to break contact with me.The church passes around a basket during Sunday mass which you can or not put a couple of bucks in.The catholic church is corrupt...don't get me wrong. The Catholic church is not a cult. Not one person from the church even knows I stopped going...that is called free will my friends. WAKE UP!

    Vlatko-I love your site!

The story goes that L. Ron Hubbard was talking to a group of sci-fi authors when a man named de Camp challenged him by saying that if he wished to be really famous, he should write a religion. The group laughed, and a few years later, we have a new religion.

There is a clip on youtube that tell this story. It features Harlan Ellison, I believe.

    Co-exist rationaly, brethren.

  26. Galloway Grumblefield

    @the loler,

I agree 100% with your evaluation of this doc. That is why I say Sweeney did a good job reporting, he mostly stood back and let the Scientologists put their feet in their mouths. Nobody made them act nutsoid, they did that on their own. I think people sometimes have the wrong idea of what a journalist's obligation is. Being "fair" doesn't mean massaging the subject to give the best impression. You ask questions, then you step back and let the subject do whatever it is they do, and you report it.

  27. the loler

lol, if this doc wasnt 'balanced', ie showing as much positive parts of scientology as negative, thats because they stalked the man around town, engaged in amazingly confrontational behaviour and forbid the guy showing any of the interviews with the scientologists themselves. Sweeney showed you what he came across, a bunch of very disturbed individuals. The problem is they knew he would give a balanced report, and they couldnt deal with having any negative points shown so they decided to try and derail the entire show.

I recon Scientology is like North Korea, the whole Jonestown affair etc, social experiments.

  28. Galloway Grumblefield

    @ caduceus merc,

I see the scientologists don't allow the same level of commenting on their guerrilla web site productions (BBC Panorama Exposed) as YouTube, SeeUat videos, or even the BBC. I suppose if they did, we would only see flattering comments about them. I guess Tom "the Freak" Davis's behavior must be acceptable to them, because the web site makes no mention of his stalking behavior.

  29. Spock

Sweeney did a great job. He succeeded because, in his own words, he found the crocodile, he poked it in the eye with a stick, and then he stood back and let us observe what happens next.

  30. Caduceus Mercurius

LOL, I would love to see this encounter as recorded and edited by the Scientology crew. :)

  31. mia

this is a crazy religion sooooo glad i'm not part of it...

  32. Galloway Grumblefield

Great journalism, John Sweeney! That Tom Davis is a f****** FREAK! What a creepy organization. Brrrrr....

  33. The Dude

@ Susan.... You won't get a fair report because the "COS" will not allow reporting to be done that does not conform to exactly what they say. The only way to see what its really like is to go get yourself audited with what appears to be an ohm meter. Let me know how that works out for you. Or better yet, please don't. lol

  34. The Dude

Alex is a Scientologist, you can tell by his post. Xenu is proud of you young padawan.

  35. Hobgoblin

good work Tommy Davis - that BBC reporter is an evil prick who had NO OBJECTIVITY. People with a clean soul will see that. People with a dirty soul with side with the BBC prick. Totally biased and one sided journalism designed to aggrivate the people. But that is journalism. Since when has it been anything else or ever meant to be anything else? No scandal = no story. No scandal? Make one up. Thanks BBC. Go kill yourselves and do the world a favour.

  36. no one

good way to counter a cylon when they babble is to pull out an A.E. Van Vogt book, as he is a much better sciencefiction writer then hubbard and scientology tried to ruin him, just to show their incompetence.

  37. Little Tommy Cruise

I and my fellow alie...uh..."actors" will be monitoring your comments closely. Any derogatory comments toward our cul...uh..."religion" will be delt with severely. You have been warned Earthlings.

  38. Tim Osman

    All religions gotta start somewhere.

  39. rink-a-fink

By the way, the advert on this website for 'a drug free world' is from scientologists!

  40. Kurrrt

I support the separation of Church and hate. Chris Angel has miracles also, is he going in the next bible? Nope. Most likely not. Neither are the Thomas Papers, or the Dead Sea Scrolls. I'm into Humanology, nothing else comes close- next to creation. The simple free of religious life means erase all the clutter out of all humanity. Help each other forgive Christian hatred that Gods evil applied into humanity.

  41. Ien Carlson

Christianity is also a cult, but most people don't like to criticize it because they are already in it. Granted, Christianity is a milder form of cult, but it is far more widespread and thus more damaging as a whole. Like Scientology, it is based on fictional, supernatural beliefs, needs your money to keep going, and makes a lot of unfulfilled promises like "miracle cancer healings". I would like to see more documentaries where Christians are harassed and chased all over the country to prove they are a cult. Until then, I guess I'll have to settle for this documentary.

  42. Lola Hernandes

That dude that's argueing with him looks just like a Tom Cruise knock off. I wonder if thats the dude Tom gives penial massages to? Just my thoughts.

  43. Lola Hernandes

Hey I've got an idea, someone should lock up in room Osama and this Tommy guy,let them work on each other's ideologies and see who comes out swinging...LOL

  44. Lola Hernandes

Who gives a damn about actors...we should be really worried when high positioned politicians will start joining this cracked up cult.

  45. Rocketman

All religions are cults, the Roman Catholic Church, broad based Christianity, Islam, Scientology, whatever - they are all cults and designed by man to control the world population.

As for the actual documentary content, I found it a very one sided affair and if John Sweeney thinks he exposed Scientology he is actually mistaken. He exposed himself instead as a very average journalist.

And yes, Scientology's anti drug program Narcanon is officially recognized by the US military as the one option for drug abuse treatment with the highest / best result of all programs available.

So, if you want to start finding fault with religions go ahead - they are all the same, full of crap.

I'll rather go and hug trees than selling my soul to any religion.

  46. Rob Jones

Scientology is a cult. The fact that cults can make people believe it is helping them in life is not a legitimate claim to be considered a religion, as most cults, including Charles Manson's "Family" cult of the early 70's, also had their true believers, even believing the acts of murder are in their best interest.

Most Americans, if they knew what Scientology is doing, would demand they be shut down and prevented from operating in the United States. The "Freedom of Religion" legal argument is not a legitimate argument and is patently frivolous on its face. Polygamysts are not permitted to have multiple wives, even though it was, at one time, a tennant of their "religion". People who belong to religions who practice human sacrifice would also be permitted if one had the "Freedom of Religion" legal argument to hand out. Scientology is more of a cult than it is a religion. What you saw in the video is nothing more the psychological warfare perpetrated by the cult members on the BBC crew.

Scientology is a cult. Al Capone started a soup kitchen in Chicago during the great depression. It fed hundreds if not thousands of people. It did not change the fact that Al Capone was a gangster, mob Boss, and Underworld Crime Lord.

    Scientology is cult.

  47. James Hunt

I'm gona start a cult called the church of panorama, or is it paranoid.Sorry I have to go I think somebody is watching me.

P.S I hope Travolta don't have Sandy locked up in there, I ain't seen her in a long long time. lol what a bunch of nutters

  48. Noxxie

You know what? I would have expected this to come from something like Star Wars or Star Trek since they are more popular and since you can actually change your religion to "Jedi"

  49. Noxxie

    WoW that was disturbing.
There is such thing as freedom of religion but that there IS a CULT!!! /Shock

Scientologists are retards, like Lawyers and politician's they deserve to be treated like the dirt they are.

    1 point lost in humanity.

  50. Some Guy

Well that just clarified what i already thought of Scientology, to an extreme level. Those people are insane!

  51. Free Thinker

The Co$ deserves no sympathy or tolerance. It not a religion or a benevolent force for benefit of mankind. Quite the opposite.

If you were to go along to a Co$ shop, they will administer a free test, then will tell you you are in serious need of help, mentally. Then they will offer the only cure, at a price. Psychiatrists are out, as the Co$ regards them as an evil force responsible for the holocaust during WW2. Oh, and 9/11. Enlightenment and self "betterment", to use a Co$ term, will cost you. Lots. And I don't just mean money. It may cost you your family and friends if they are at all critical of the Co$ due to their policy of "disconnection". It will cost you your freedom of thought. It may cost you your life. Yes the Co$ is responsible for many deaths due to their "fair game" policy on "suppressive persons"(although they wont use that term these days, the practise still continues), which states that "SPs" have no rights and should be "destroyed" without mercy. They are an evil pyramid corporation making money by brainwashing people, by fabricating in their victims' minds a twisted and dangerous perspective on reality. A reality which, if you are brainwashed enough, have paid enough money, invested enough time, and your mind is ready and prepared for the ridiculous "truth", at its core is based on an insultingly ludicrous science fiction story... And there are no refunds. There is a reason why it is now--in effect--banned in Germany (the Co$ has been reduced to a non-profit organisation with no status as a religion or business and thus, has no power). They know a Nazi when they see one.

  52. Smurfy

Since when is a cult NOT a religion... or a religion not a cult, for that matter?

The important thing to remember if you have a camera and a ranting moron such as these shows up and incessantly begins stalking you and ripping into you and the people you speak to on camera, is to let them speak their peace until they run out of steam. Have plenty of tape/storage and more batteries handy to keep it rolling until they wander off on their own. YOU can edit and insert your responses in between their psychotic rants from the comfort of your own studio, once you've established and demonstrated that they won't let a word in edgewise.

Or take a cue from other TV shows and have SOMEONE ELSE do the interviews with the 'unpopular' people, with the understanding that the questions would be dubbed. Good cop, bad cop. Preferably someone whom the scientologists can't track back to you until it's MUCH too late to disrupt or cancel interviews. Naturally the interviews should be separated by time and space. Doing them at the same times and places would be too easy to connect the dots. Anyway, you can dub out the 'other' person and cut in the 'main guy' voice to ask the same questions of them. A common old ploy that gets good results from people who'd clam up if they saw a famous face.

I wish more of these people would post their uncut video of interviews on YouTube (or equivalent) with the full, unedited rants. There were certainly hours and hours of entertaining video that they shot to make a 29 minute TV story. Save it. Post it online. Put up a version of the story with popup links to the uncut 'most interesting bits'.

Then not only would we have the concise documentary, we'd have the full context of the material it was compiled from. More skulking of the creepy stalkers, more ranting from the suddenly appearing never-a-word-in-edgewise-trivia creep with his own camcorder dude. All the good stuff that gets lost on the cutting room floor, so to speak.

  53. WaDe

  54. julymorning

and isn't it illegal to put up such poster like that about male prostitute in America? I feel like in Scientology world, there's no law of the United States of America. This is insane. Poor reporter, he lost his temper because he was tricked by that crazy Tommy guy. That's why he exactly wants. Let opponent to lose temper and shows aggressive attitude and let their cameraman takes and edits the whole process. BTW they took a movie about BBC right? That's why Tommy acts. ahahaha

  55. julymorning

if they have nothing to hide, why would they stalk reporters? That Tommy guy acts like a Nazi. He doesn't give you a second to speak. I've heard from somewhere that's one of way when communists or fascist attack people mentally effectively. Probably North Korea uses the same trick. As far as I've seen, that Tommy acts and speaks like an Actor, as if I'm watching a movie. is it a coincident?

  56. Lindy

I am an atheist, but it bothers me that Scientology is being attacked here in a way that the journalist would not attack Christianity, which also can not be proved.

  57. denise m

oh god- what legit church stalks reporters like this? talk about crazy! the way they pander to washed up celebrities is pathetic. it should embarass these so called celebs to be associated with this waco cult in any way shape or form. the wacy cult outer space trash is true-freedom of info act allowed it to be released during a court case years ago. i don't know why it should embarass scientology to have their docturn made public-aliens from outer space, h-bombs war lords-and its all part of the court case where church documents had been stolen-these documents outlined this insane church scripture-and dispite scientology's best attempts to keep the substance of these stolen documents out of the public eye, because it had been in a court case the freedom of info act allowed this inner church docturn to be made public.i'm still laughing. pretty sad to be that embarassed about what are supposed to be your beliefs-and they try to say its not a cult. how can anyone be so messed up to be asociated with these wacos?
in closing i'd just like to say they can deny it forever-but it doesn't change a thing-their still a big old crazy as hell cult. cult cult and did i mention cult? yep, cult. if your embarassed maybe that should be telling you something. cult

  58. eddie

to sunson: "He allows the critics to speak in their own words on camera but edits out the actors who support Scientology, giving instead his summary of what they said"

You must have not heard his explanation for doing this. He would have LOVED to show the interviews, it would have given him more viewers if anything, but he wasn't able to because the celebrities' lawyers threatened to sue him if he did show the interviews.

  59. benado

Freaks!! Didn't Germany vote to kick this cult out a while ago?

  60. Sunson

While its true that the scientologists are out of order with the way they've handled the interviewer talking to their detractors, you have to admit that the interviewer himself has not done a good job of being balanced. He allows the critics to speak in their own words on camera but edits out the actors who support Scientology, giving instead his summary of what they said. Whenever the Tom Cruise wannabe comes around, the BBC guy seems to deliberately try to provoke an angry reaction out of him (Tom Cruise makes it too easy though)... I'd prefer to watch an actual fair report on the church, this is clearly biased.

  61. ben

    @ Matt

I already respect scientology as a religion - that is not at all.
I don't think it being a religion in the UK is a tragedy as most established religions are just cults anyway - just because they are old doesn't mean they are credible.

  62. Matt

As much as I'd like to respect Scientology as a religion, Tommy Davis does not help his cause at all here.

  63. hannah

They should have called the cult the Matrix. Would have suited them better with the whole suit and sunglasses. Thanks for the interview Panorama! I would have lost my voice too if I had to interview those nutters.. you didn't let the general public down!

  64. Karl Andre Bru

    Brilliant video.
A great exspose of a crackpot cult with to much cash.
    Worrying yet very funny...

  65. Alex

I wouldn't be surprised if the "S" is not for scientology but for S...atan...
    1) The guy in th suit was a wanna be Tom Cruz. He was clearly putting on a tough guy routine "Right here, right now!" He was funny :D and... lucky I should add...
    2) Scientology reminds me of the Mormon Free masonry cult. They use similar tactics of intimidation, as the masons do.
    3) But having said that. Let's see the other side of the story.
Reporters who are biased are most of the time fascists in the way they handle any religion. They stick to religionists like a leech, harass them, intrude in their churches, provoke them so to step out of line and then drag all over the media if they do so, they ridicule them, they turn people against them who are not in their religion.
Reporters of course do that in other cases as well, as if they are the makers of rules, as if they are the law, and we should be intimidated to doing what ever they want, especially if they are a little famous. Like cops or soldiers, they can get out of line because they know they have "a whole system" behind them backing them up. You tell them to go away, but most, clearly show they have no respect for your rights... they just excuse themselves by crying: "I'm just doing my job!", and this supposedly gives them the right to be paparazzo in your life; difficult situation to be in.... So, between being immoral and loosing their job, they choose the first. So in a way, they're just getting some of their own syrup from scientologists. The funny thing is, they even expect it as something natural (!)that they rape your freedom and rights! Many reporters have destroyed lives in getting their story; this is the untold story one should make a documentary on (there's probaly some out there). I am not of course generalizing, but the fascism in mass media should be countered, especially by rich people who can counter it. They can make a change, towards the better through their money/power, putting some sense and fear into this system where one is trampled or his beliefs, so another makes a living, and others in higher places make loads of money of them. Evil.

    God bless!

  66. graham

Huh. I wonder who everyone's going to believe. The BBC or Scientology. Have you noticed how Scientologists don't give you a second of speaking time.. they just drill you to the point of wanting to rip off their heads (like shown). I'm against religion, but this is just in a whole new ball park. The biggest cult on earth.

  67. tim

good doc,i am amazed that cruise and travolta are mixed up with this brain washing bullxxxt.its another brainwashing load of dump.that guy tommy needs someone to kick the crap out of him,and i know if he was in my face like he was in the doc i would gladly oblidge in doing that.follow me you scum and you wont have a car or a straight nose for your troubles.

  68. kaz

scientology is disgusting! i can't believe they would harass and defame people just for having an opposing view! especially with the guy who used to be a prostitute. i don't know about american laws, but isn't it illegal to distribute defamatory material like sticking up all those posters? i thought you would be able to sue for defamation.

  69. jason

i think tommy is trying to be tom cruise.

These people seem criminally insane, but it really boils down to freedom of religion. . .

  71. Julia

    Ridiculous!!
Scientology is invented and supported by ACTORS - these are people who play roles for the entertainment industry and make money from that living.
How can anyone believe those mentally disturbed actors on the verge of schizophrenia?!? They lure "lost souls" to collect donations from them. Another way to make money from acting!!

The more I see references to this doc the more it looks like a real miscalculation. Scientology had a well respected BBC journalist, the backing of the US and UK governments. And then blow it because of egotism.
