God's Next ArmyGod's Next Army investigates Patrick Henry College (PHC), set up five years ago in Virginia, near Washington DC. Its mission is to train young fundamentalist Christians to become the next generation of America's cultural and political leaders. Though the separation of church and state is enshrined in the US Constitution, with financial backing from the evangelical community the college aims to rechristianise America; to preserve the world from the sinfulness of man.

PHC students are an isolated group who come from close-knit communities where everyone prays together and shares moral certainties. Most have been educated at home and have had no contact with either the social diversity or the political and intellectual cut and thrust of mainstream schools. Derek Archer, a prospective PHC student believes home - schooling has protected him from the 'moral decay of the world'.

Once at the college, the students ceremonially sign a covenant which commits them to a strict behaviour code: no alcohol, drugs or obscene literature; sex will be reserved for marriage; personal conflicts will be resolved biblically; the students will be above reproach, will uphold the tenets of evangelical Christianity and lead the nation for Christ.

  1. Religion is the ruin of the USA. This documentary is a lie. The Bible is book of myth not truth. These students in this video are home schooled so they are lacking the most important part of education. An educated person always asks questions about everything. Yes that includes the BIBLE and the adults that tell you what to believe. This video is a lie.

  2. It’s about time Christians did this

    1. Christian's don't need to do this at all.
It will happen when Jesus Christ returns as King of kings and LORD of lords, at the Head of His obedient servants. This will be the beginning of the Millennial Kingdom, where those who do not obey the commandments of God will be accursed and will remain for eternity in the lake of fire with the Devil and his angels

  3. "We don't need the world's knowledge" -- Apparently not.

  4. Well, they're in the White House now. Pence is their leader. American Taliban.

  5. I encourage everyone to read two books; "The Christ Conspiracy, The greatest Story Ever Sold" (Acharya S) and Cesar's Messiah.

Christianity like all the other 3000 or so religions is a complete fabrication. Christ never existed and was literally written into existence.

There is only Truth. Everything else is just a waste of time. Seek the truth.

  6. So sad. I grew up Southern Baptist, so I know how completely brain washed these children are. Ignorant bigoted adults should not have children. Home schooling should be against the law. This is what happens. A complete brainwashing of young minds. They are so helpless and are being raised by complete idiots. They will not be prepared for life. If only they had a chance to live and learn and be happy and not carry around some ridiculous guilt of supposed original sin. A belief in some creepy God that is always spying on them and judging them for their thoughts. A creepy God that plans to torture them for all of eternity if they do not repent of their sins. Christianity is laughable when considered by adults who have never heard of it. However when it is presented to a three year old along with the Easter bunny, the Tooth Fairy and Santa Clause as true and Mom and Dad believe it, then it becomes reality. It is brain washing, plane and simple. I feel sorry for this girl.

  7. Good to know Washington won't run out of closed-minded jerks. Do they also offer a graduate program in fantasy-based bigotry?

  8. While not a very balanced investigation of the college (see how majors issues are addressed and classified which wouldn't be found in a liberal college review) radical socialists democrats did the same thing in the 60's and 70's which gave us Obama and Clinton, so this is just the other side of the same coin

  9. disturbing on so many levels. what a misuse of minds, diabolical even. how dare they presume to opine about same-sex marriage -- where is their base of knowledge about homosexuality? mom and dad? that'll work ... NOT! this is a massive big tent of arrogance on the scale of a 3-ring circus maximus. they are so certain of their certainties that they absolutely need to make them my certainties, too. so much dystopian speculative fiction is based on religious fervor, and PHC will be supplying the dybbuks.

  10. I wish all 'God Believers' would be kind enough to offer some proof for their 'deity' before they decide that their 'God' should tell an entire population how to act. Your fantasized 'perfect God', omniscient and omnipotent, has created a world where nearly every creature, to survive, must kill and eat other creatures, usually alive. And the millions of children killed by tsunami's and hurricanes is 'God's Will'? You must be delirious to think that a 'perfect God' would, or could, create three different religions with 3 different 'Holy Books', 'Holy Books' that tell each who they are to kill, and who they are not to kill. Tell me, seriously, if you were a 'God', would you 'create' a universe such as we see around us? Are you aware that God's chosen people, the Americans, dropped more bombs on Laos during the 60's/70's then they did on both Germany AND Japan during the WWII? Laos wasn't even officially part of the war!

    1. But to keep things balance wouldn't nonbelievers have to prove that there isn't a God?

    2. No, not to my mind, but I'm not sure what 'balance' you're referring to. Let's say that 'there is no God' is the default position, since no measurable evidence of God's 'Being' has been produced. Science requires that 'existence', or Being, to be measurable and to permit corroboration, such as our being consists of atoms and molecules and blood, sweat and hairs that can be weighed and measured. But everything about 'God' is unseen, and thus unmeasurable, and thus no one can agree upon anything in religion.

Can you prove to me that 'trolls' exist or don't exist?

  11. this video is quite disturbing. I am Christian but to see fellow Christian's faith get twisted and turned to the undisguised horror I see before me is unforgivable. Sadly, these people are convinced that its GOD's will to lie, go to war, and destroy. This John Henry college is a den of vipers. a warrior of GOD is a person of faith, knowing that GOD will use all (good and evil) to accomplish his will. But to see GOD's name use in this way is like watching the American version of Islamic Madrasa being played out on US soil. Ugly and disturbing. Jesus would have to be crucified thousands upon thousands of time and yet not enough to wash the sins of these so-called Christians.
To the tall lanky blonde kid in the documentary and those of his like mind, if the Earth belongs to GOD, then why is it that the conservatives and GOP have the most wealth and material possessions? R u saving it for GOD or for your selfish personal use? HYPOCRITES.

  12. Oh Lord, you creep me out when you let these sick fanatics speak in your name!! I pray that you open their minds and end their bulls*it - please allow reasoning minds to rise up and lead America, instead of these backward m*rons!!

    1. Reason? Religious believers aren't using reasoning, they're guessing....... Here, read it at Hebrews 11:1:

"Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.' In other words a guess, a premonition, a hunch, imagination, whatever.....

  13. Groomed to do the bidding of the GOP, Koch Brothers, and so on, and not so much as a reach-around.
    Pathetic.

    1. And Hilary and Barack are....?

    2. Touché

    3. The Koch brothers were never all that religious. For them, everything is a matter of business.

  14. Fascinating! I once wanted to be a wolf in sheep's clothing, a Viper(to use John the B and Jesus' terms for these kind of people). But I am a Christian and follow Christ. I am not a disciple of Ciaphas or Saul(though I was certainly tempted to be for a while), there but thru the Grace of God, go I. I shall pray that they repent and turn to Christ

    1. And I shall hope that they don't.

  15. Poisoning the nations well one soul at a time - A tragedy of epic proportions.

  16. Personal conflicts will be resolved biblically. Will they stone adulteresses?

  17. So the earth belongs to the lord, not the state? Does that mean all these Christian politicians and fundies are going to give up their properties? You know, since the earth can't belong to any man...

    1. Yep starting with Manhattan, NY. Let me know who the democrats plan to do this

  18. Creationism? I cannot believe those professors consider themselves "college" professors. Pathetic. Teaching theorys as fact without evidence. Talk about a bunch of m*rons. No sex and rated R movies? Half the educational films I watch IN the classroom are R. These poor kids will grow up learning nothing but silly christian rhetoric that will hinder their chances of embracing all walks/aspects of life.

  19. Why does the English keep doing documentaries on the U.S.? Does nothing interesting happen in their own country anymore?

    1. We are not full of the extreme like the USA is, dont worry we do documentaries on our own country as well. However topics like this effect the world, due to the influence the USA has on world politics. These bible bashing aspiring politician scare a lot of the UK that they are gaining precedence, due to large financial backing of wealthy Christians. And this is all occurring in a country where the church and state should be separate, but in the last 100 years it has slowly creped into their government.

  20. they home school them to brain wash them....****** crack heads

  21. same old ideas, hating queers etc. do any of these kids know any glbt people? No. Their parents likewise wouldn't touch glbt people with a 10 ft pole. and what does that have to do with the unconditional love/grace message of Jesus Christ? nothing...

  22. What are these kids going to do when they (hopefully) discover that the earth is actually about 4,500 million years old (and I'm not even talking about evolution)? It's one thing to believe abortion and homosexual practices are wrong (which I also do), but to sweep all of science under the rug and attempt to create a kind of political theocracy is just absurd. These folk may be well meaning but they are shooting themselves in the foot. Morality is important, but to attempt to moralize society is ridiculous, and actually goes against the Bible.

    1. yeah yeah...and you talk of pushing science under the rug...I wish you were born gay!!! you hypocrit

  23. Enlightenment???! Don't be a fool. People who believe in that have small minds. Enlightenment is a hoax created by the enemy to fool the weak masses. In the end God will send a great delusion so it will be impossible to accept him. Accept him now before its too late.

    1. it saddens me to read some of the commentaries here...our world will be destroyed by us petty humans. And I bet it will have a lot to do with religious fundamentalism. GROW OUT OF YOUR UNJUSTIFIED LUNACY!

    2. Don't ramble on about something you know nothing about.

    3. Check out all the signators on your Constitution and Declaration. bright guy. All those small minds came out of the Enlightenment period.

  24. Wondering if this was a critic or a propaganda! Sort of a 2,000 modern Dr. Goebbels movie. Thank for the infos extremisms can exist anywere on planet earth.
It's about those creationist evangelics who decided to send their kids into a specialized school connected on the US white house.
No democracy here. Not a bit if you see what I mean.
No wonder what runs the USA.

A bit scrary to see these youngsters being flooded by religious propaganda just like those islamic ones. Not much difference as these youngsters sink into sort of a secondary state while singing like zombies.

I used to wonder how a US-Army copter GI could fire on human beings even thought he knows, he sees that it's only unarmed childrens and women.
Now I know, as mention in this doc. :- "I got told to" !!!
None of these youngsters have a their own personality, they are endoctrined. Since their talk come from "Other's brains", they are extremely dangerous zombies. Sort of individuals who couldn't care less about triggering a string of killings in the name of a cause.

Everything considered, it take one to tell another one what's God's way?
    A sickness.

    Pierre.

  25. this is probably one of the more frightening concepts i have ever seen... balkanized, brainwashed children being groomed for surgical insertion into the political process.... that the process is already underway is horrifying... "manchurian candidates" of a doomsday cult... just say no, kids... loudly

  26. In non-existent little goddie we distrust!

  27. A waste of time if you ask me, the college is. To focus your efforts strictly on politics and religion in this country is not only contradictory but also impractical. Nobody's gonna vote for people like this. They're narrow-minded, intolerant, and aren't independent in thought. Behind each smiling face I see a person who deeply wishes he or she could experience all that life has to offer. I feel bad for these kids. If one of them gets elected president count on another war overseas somewhere that doesn't fit into their idea of a christian world. first it's "we want a christian nation" and next it'll be "we want a christian world".

    1. @ andy thompson
"Nobody's gonna vote for people like this."

      They already have:
      George W. Bush.

  28. @C' Aira Carter

Try telling Palin or Bachmann that.

  29. The goal of this school is unconstitutional. This is not a christian nation. The idea that we have to move our nation "back" into christianity is absurd. who says christianity is right or that its moral standards are right? we as americans have rights not to be forced into any religion and to practice what ever religion we want or not to practice at all. if you want to live as a christian then by all means do that, but to have a goal to change our society to fit your beliefs is just wrong.

  30. we are all born sinners only one was not a sinner and that was Jesus Christ and the only way to not be a sinner on our way to hell is to repent and ask Jesus to come in our hearts, minds, lives and serve him. If we reject him we will fall into Gods wrath and be cast into hell. I believe the bible is the word of God and those who don't well all I can say Is I pray for you and one day we all will find out won't we? YES we will Gods word is true and his word will and is coming to pass, we are in the last days turn to Jesus while you still have time.

    1. We are all born sinners?? speak for yourself sugar. We are all born as pure as the wind driven snow.

Your obtuse religions are the ones that categorize the human race as born sinners so they could control the masses with their asinine religions, burn in hell?? gods wrath?? you poor religee's, living in constant fear of your ineffectual gods. You should not come on sites preaching your vile threats.

    2. You assert without support. You know nothing of Biblical history.
You're unoriginal, thoughtless and brainless. You're ignorant and pathetic with no real ability except to twaddle!

Why do modern-day atheists sound so much more intelligent and persuasive than you and those like you. If it's the work of the devil, more power to him!

    3. You reminded me of an afternoon when i was fairly young. I opened the door to a "Jehovah Witnesses" couple who came in preaching their sense. They had nothing to say about themself other than words picked in a old book. Sad. And they left with the money of my piggy bank, mostly pennies. My mom was furious when she returned.

I don't understand why these people are allowed to knock on people's door to door. I can understand in the early 70s but now in 2010?

As for you, it is easy to close the door to your statement and my piggy bank is safe from your congregation.

      az

    4. i can see you have already received some comments along the lines of my deepest antipathy. You did not respond. You most likely will not respond to me either. And, I do not usually find the need to address members of your camp as evidently uninformed as you seem to be; however, it became beyond my control. "Karen Fontana"-- what do you think 'the bible' is? And who do you believe is responsible for the writing? The bible is not even by definition a 'book'. It is a collective narrative comprised of many types of representations--myths, oral traditions, poems, letters, prose, stories, accounts. A large collection include letters possibly written by Paul (although no time to address it here, there is much evidence Paul is not the author, though credited--as is evidence Moses did not himself author). Had Paul (we will assume for the sake of argument) EVER known these letters of 'suggestions' of improvement to church sects would one day be used to justify all that went forth in the name of conversion, war, persecution, condemnation, imprisionment, capital punishment, and discrimination, he would have been much more precise in his words. Because the bible is composed of myth, prose, poetry, letters--it must be interpreted according not to what you think it 'says' but what does it read given the type of writing, the time frame, the purpose of that particular piece, the politices and culture of the time period, etc. There are countless additional determining factors. First, consider that these stories of Jesus were first circulated among the surviving Jews at the time as ORAL TRADITION. The first accounts of Jesus were not written down until decades after his death, so what we have are not eye witness reports to read literally as one would an accident report just having witnessed. Second, the writings whether it be prose, poetry, etc., were translated several times and copied by scribes who were commissioned by those in the political seat of power at the time of the commissioned transcriptions. And just as in politics as we know it today, whoever was in power influenced the message to the order of his liking. And what of the so called banned books of the bible? Yes, there were more accounts, many more not included, not deemed fit for inclusion. This begs the question, why were some accounts included and others not; who rose to the seat to decide the standard; who enforced and advanced this position of censorship among the highest fashion; what was gained by such censorship; what was lost; and who lost above all (i.e., who did it profit the most, who did it hurt to the greatest degree)? It is a sweet dream to think of a god that thought of you, Karen, as such a favorite creation that he would create you, build your Earth, provide you with a divine written guide to the galaxy and remain just a holla' away when you needed something. But, alas, it is not quite as cut and dry. And, if you are a Christain, don't you owe it to yourself and Christ's legacy to dig deeper into his message of life, separating and sifting Christ's message from the politics, divisions, misinterpretations of text, mistakes of transcription, bias of translators and scribes? The universe is a big place. Large enough I think for both science and religion to occupy the same cage. Expansive enough I think for critical thinking and faith to coexhist. I challenge you to explore more. Read: the works of Peter Gomes (Harvard theologian), John Shelby Spong (Bishop of Newark--retired), anything by Archbishop Desmond Tutu, and "The Suicide of Christian Theology". Watch the documentaries "Banned from the Bible", "A Fish out of Water", "For the Bible Tells Me So", "A Flock of Dodo's", "Religulous", "God in America". This just touches the surface, and I am sure you will not take any of these suggestions--but I must submit them to you. I will end with one of my favorite quotes: "If Christ were here now I am definitely sure one thing he would NOT be is a Christian"--Mark Twain.

    5. i dont know how you can put your faith in a god that you describe as so selfish that he would reject a person who dedicates his life to doing positive things just for not believing in him. if a person is hindu, buddhist, muslim, or an atheist but contributes something special to the world-in science, medicine, teaching, art, whatever, any decent god worth worshipping would be glad to welcome this person. no decent kind of god would reject a good human being for his beliefs. the kind of god u describe is unworthy of praise or worship, and i would run from him like the devil that he is [if i believed in devils like your god]

    6. I wondered this too. Then I found an essay by a Christian. He explains that God reveals himself through his creation. So even if you live in the deepest jungle and never heard of Jesus or saw a cross, you can still sincerely wish to know God in your heart. If you do, then God will send missionaries to get to you. If they don't get to you, you weren't sincere and deserve to go to hell. This apparently includes infants. What reasoning. If you never heard of Jesus in your jungle, it's your own fault.

    7. lol typical cult behaviour.

    8. No words to describe this nonsense about your jungle gods, well there are but won't use them. Ah...no I better not!

    9. But god is omnipotent and omniscient, so why do people go to hell if god predetermines who you are? Did god make me not believe in him? Am I not sincere just because I don't believe in an extra-dimensional dictator? This is crazy theist logic. And like you said, if you don't find Jesus in a jungle, than it's your fault because god made it that way...

    10. What is interesting about that, to me, is how religionists (beyond dogmatists, at this point) will make **** up as they go along to justify their actions.

    11. I would like the first few lines that you read to tell you I do have a belief. It may seem like I'm trying to get at you but truly I'm concerned about the number of heads turning away from a belief system all together.

Actually I was born, surprisingly enough, having not broken a single commandment. And those simple guidelines the seven deadly sins with exception to lust have never been broken by me to this day... But I'm still going to hell? Lust... why would a god create us with the need of a neurochemical system incentivising us to break one of his own fundamental laws especially when he himself told Abraham to go forth and be fruitful...Yes bear fruit from the seed of the loin. Yes Abraham may have been married but he had not heard gods voice at this time so he was living in sin in accordance to the laws he later created. So we are all created by a loving god that made us sinful?.. I don't buy it. The scientific community consider several perspectives where as the religious community generally don't. That's what gives appeal to younger freer minds and gives rise to the largest number of atheists seen since before the idea of polytheism, there are fewer agnostics these days because organised religions just won't leave be and more people choose NOT to believe at all... The phrase 'religion and politics should never be disgust at the dinner table' is there for a reason... Everyone will have different views and it is good you have faith but who are you to say mine is wrong.... you see how the argument would escalate from there? A Muslim may even say I'm godless... How insulting can someone get? How can I be godless? I exist don't I?
When I was young I asked a vicar how can I know if god exists to which he replied. ''You can't, that's why you have to have faith... if god wanted you to know he would tell you''. But Christians all seem to 'know' that a Muslim is wrong and vice versa, how can this be? This is why I can't believe in a god trusting only what a man tells me about a god. You must see that within these organised religions the hypocrisy that could only have come from man not god. I would never ask you to stray from your church its the hub of what you believe but you were no more born believing in the bible as you were born a sinful creature. So I ask, with the guidance of your own parishioner, seek your own truth not what 'selfish man' states as true and when you find that truth keep it too yourself.

    12. I pride myself on being one of those freer, though not younger, minds who regard faith and religion as pathetic and the Age of Enlightenment as one of the most significant turning points in the train of human thought and activity.

I can't say I'm an atheist because I'm insouciant to the existence of a supreme being (or perhaps more than one) and damnation and redemption leave me cold.

As one of those freer minds, I admit that there might be something in the romantic concept of subjective truth, but with certain limitations and only up to a point. Have you read Nathan the Wise by Lessing?

    13. From your post, it is obvious that you are pathetically ignorant of the history of the Bible, especially the New Testament and history in general. Yet off you go, raving about something of which you know nothing.

  31. Bad people will behave badly.
    Good people will behave well.
However, it takes religion to make otherwise good people behave badly.

    1. That's retarded. There are plenty of people who do good things purely because religion tells them too. I doubt Mother Teresa would've helped lepers had she not found Jesus. Religion is the excuse for evil in INDIVIDUALS more often than the cause.

Religion is no different than a political ideology. Some people use it as an excuse to do horrible things and some people use it to spread goodwill. All religions, just like all political ideologies, are neither good nor bad collectively.

The problem with religion is that it's not f--king true and it leads to expected behavior based upon the perceived will of an imaginary friend. Sometimes good, sometimes bad but always based upon false information.

    2. I heard Richard Dawkins say this in a doc he made. He was quoting, I believe physicist, after interviewing a man whose religious friend was imprisoned for the murder of an abortionist.

"Bad men will do good things, but for a good man to do evil it takes religion."

    3. the physicist who said the quote is Steven Weinberg, a Nobel-prize winning scientist and atheist. he is interviewed by Jonathan Miller in The Atheism Tapes and is a really cool guy, very smart and with a terrific sensayuma.

  32. I do not see how PH could have become accredited, as it goes against everything that education and scholarship stand for. From what I have read about the institution, especially the article on Wikipedia, it seems that its status is more the result of politic connections than excellence.

I wonder about the caliber of, for example, its biology classes taught from a creationist (read non-scientific) point of view and for that matter, the quality and qualifications of its professors who sign an oath of allegiance to Christianity and the Bible. On the other hand, I learned from Wikipedia that a number of them have recently left in protest against the policies of PH, but that these have been quickly replaced by other hacks.

I wonder if the college offers any courses in biblical history (scholarship) to counteract the continuous stream of religious drivel.

I wonder how mathematics is taught, when the concept of the infinite goes against most evangelical (creationist) teachings

As a matter of fact, I wonder if any of its courses can be regarded as scholastic.

I wonder why PH culls primarily from the homeschooled.

In short, PH is merely a bastion of ignorance, dogma and superstition masquerading as an institute of higher learning.

  33. A note to others: Not all homeschooled kids are like this. Not every one of us ends up a religious wacko, whether or not our parents try to make us into one. We all have different reasons for why we were homeschooled: Mine was that the public schools in my area did not meet my parents' expectations as far as quality education and good teachers (both in their teaching and the way they deal with their students), so they homeschooled me. Religion didn't even become a factor until later on, which is another story. Point being, I find the view that the narration and the homeschoolers themselves take on homeschooling a bit more slanted than it ought to be. Just my humble opinion.

  34. Ugh. Used to be friends with someone who ended up at PHC...he turned out to be such a snake! He wants to be a politician, go figure! We were both homeschooled, and couldn't be more different, nowadays! I hope to transfer to Berkeley someday, and he ended up at PHC...some days, I can't believe we were ever friends. I guess I'm glad he found a place for nuts like himself. Good riddance, I don't have to deal with him anymore, and soon, won't have to deal with any more fundies, if I can help it!

  35. this always puzzles me - they want to train chrisitans to lead the country, but in the end they are republicans that just push policies that don't help the poor and vulnerable, like jesus would have done. 'rechrisitanize' just means banning abortion and gay marriage, not actually making this world a better place to live.

  36. Christian future terrorists and fundamentalist - - - - One more proof that religion is so out of touch with reality, and tolerance - - - - Preaching one thing, doing another - - - all brainwashed idiots, with self righteous attitude are to be despised, and locked up in a nut house - - - -

  37. separation between Church and State is not in the constitution. It was written in a letter by Jefferson. Church and State was not meant to keep the Church out of government, but to keep government out of the Church.

    1. The First Amendment reads "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof ...."

    2. Shame you haven't read the First Amendment.

  38. Looks like a bunch of scared white people.

  39. Tragic, sad and alarming...

  40. Achems Razor~
This is your last warning. Your user name is incorrectly spelled. It should be written as follows: OCCAM'S RAZOR.
That's Occam's Razor. Please change it or there will be consequences.

  41. I couldn't help but notice how lovely and hopeful these kids seem to be...and how repressed they seem to be as well. It surely is the weight of constant self-scrutiny and purgative confession that results in such a dampening effect on those so young. It almost seems to me like a form of “experiential bulimia”---gorging on forbidden behaviors and then vomitting it all back up along with undigested chunks of ‘mea culpas’. Of course, it is precisely during this exuberant, curious period of young adulthood when life and spontanaeity should BE IRREPRESSIBLE. So I’m saddened that fundamentalist, Uber-Christian parents are robbing the life passage of youth from their own children. They are a cult of disfunctional zealots bent on reaching a personal paradise and unconcerned about what or who [including their own children] gets destroyed in that quest. They are as pitiful as Wahabbist Muslims at a beheading.

  42. @Gonzo
    I feel like I am in Nazi-Germany!

The United States of America has devolved into a full-fledged fascist state replete with Germany's Ermächtigungsgesetz (Enabling Act) of 1933, Called here Patriot Acts I & II, a well equipped, well trained 'Gestapo' (Homeland Security) with the infrastructure of detention camps at its disposal, and censorship (as is frequently witnessed even here in the discussion forums of this website).

"Fascism should more appropriately be called Corporatism because it is a merger of state and corporate power."
    ~ Benito Mussolini

  43. Does anyone else feel like they are in pre-nazi Germany right now? Watching all of the fear, and ignorance, fed by a completely corrupt government. I almost feel a need to jump ship and watch it go down from the other side of the ocean.

  44. Who here might recall one of the opening remarks from 'Zeitgeist - The Movie':

    "They must find it difficult...
"Those who have taken authority as the truth,
"Rather than truth as the authority"
    ~ G. Masset, Egyptologist

It is not simply religion which is the problem: all faith-based epistemologies are equal in their toxicity.

  45. In addition, I find it startling that a 121 word comment posted by Mike Manners, opening with the salutation "You Anti Christian bigots," and concluding with the valediction, "One Word. Hypocrites," is NOT awaiting moderation.

  46. I find it truly remarkable that recommending a 'SeeUat Videos' documentary to a fellow contributor elicits immediate attention from those monitoring this website to the effect that: "Your comment is awaiting moderation." The comment in question consists of but three words, namely: "An excellent documentary." It would be interesting to learn how such a comment might be 'moderated'.

  47. @Mike Manners
    "You Anti Christian bigots..."

How very 'turning-of the-cheek' of you!

  48. You Anti Christian bigots really astound me. You really are amazingly ignorant and arrogant.

You are all so angry at the students and faculty of PHC?
Oh..so where is your "Tolerance" and "Respect" that you scream about so much? What about the Freedom to think what you want without people labeling you with bigoted religious slurs?

Why don't you go after the Radical Madrassas with equal vigor? Hummmm?

Where is your Indignation at Female Circumcision/Mutilation? Where is your indignation at all of the be headings and killings of Christians and Jews because they are infidels?

Where is your self righteous, smug, self satisfied righteous indignation when that nut tried to blow up times square?

    One Word. Hypocrites....

    1. Who's to say they don't go after the other religions and their corrupt violence too?
Personally I think they are all as bad as each other.
      There. Happy now.

    2. Who's to say they don't go after the other religions and their corrupt violence too?
Personally I think they are all as bad as each other.
      There. Happy now.

  49. "my Kingdom is not of this world"( Jesus Christ, AD 0031") was the response to those who wanted Christ to do exactly what PHC is attempting to do--and in Christs' name.

"Salt and Light" to the world? I see nothing in scripture to suggest that individual Christians, apart from the Church, are to conspire ways and means to eventually become the salt and light-or to completely skip over that part and implement a faster and more effective means of providing the attributes of Salt and Light-which is the pattern I detect. It's like an electrical short-circuit--whether by accident or intent, the result of a "short-circuit" can be tragic and the result of PHC and its future is out of line with the intent of Christianity--and it doesn't matter how sincere everyone is or appears to be. Anyone can be grossly wrong and entirely sincere at the same time.

Within a hundred years I expect PHC will either be no different from what any other ivy league college presently is. They might be packaged differently and there will be divisions, disputes and splits throughout its history.
If that doesn't occur its history will be very short. That's the example provided by history.

  50. The following amplifies what Jefferson TRULY meant in the excerpt given above:

"We have solved....the great and interesting question whether
freedom of religion is compatible with order in government, and obedience to the laws, And we have experienced the quiet as well as the comfort which results from leaving every one to profess freely and openly those principles of religion which are the inductions of his own reason, and the serious convictions of his own inquiries."

    - Thomas Jefferson to Virginia Baptists, 1808.

"I consider the government of the United States as interdicted by the Constitution from intermeddling in religious institutions, their doctrines, discipline, or exercises."

    - Thomas Jefferson to Samuel Miller, 1808

"Religion is a subject on which I have ever been most scrupulously reserved. I have considered it as a matter between every man and his Maker, in which no other, and far less the public, had a right to intermeddle."

    - Thomas Jefferson to Richard Rush, 1813

"The clergy, by getting themselves established by law, and
ingrafted into the machine of government, have been a very
formidable engine against the civil and religious rights of man."

    - Thomas Jefferson to Jeremiah Moor, 1800

"I am for freedom of religion, and against all maneuvers to bring about a legal ascendency of one sect over another."

    - Thomas Jefferson to Elbridge Gerry, 1799

"To compel a man to furnish contributions of money for the
propagation of opinions which he disbelieves and abhors, is sinful and tyrannical."

    - Thomas Jefferson: Statute of Religious Freedom, 1779

Our founders didn't want a corrupt government using the "church", or visa-versa, to enforce tyranny. As had been the case for CENTURIES in Europe. Most of the U.S. educational systems have perverted and subverted the ACTUAL meaning of what was INTENDED by the founders.

  51. "...Though the separation of church and state is enshrined in the US Constitution...."

That is a most INCORRECT statement. The notion about "the separation of church and state" came from a Jan. 1st, 1802 letter from Thomas Jefferson to "To Messrs. Nehimiah Dodge, Ephraim Robbins and Stephen S. Nelson, a committee of the
Danbury Baptist Association in the state of Connecticut."

The U.S. Constitution actually DECLARES that we are a CHRISTIAN country:

"...The Ratification of the Conventions of nine States, shall be sufficient for the Establishment of this Constitution between the States so ratifying the Same. Done in Convention by the Unanimous Consent of the States present the Seventeenth Day of September

    >>>IN THE YEAR OF OUR LORD<<<

one thousand seven hundred and Eighty seven and of the Independence of the United States of America the
Twelfth. In Witness whereof We have hereunto subscribed our Names...."

And there is a HUGE amount of information in the founding period and after which supports that contention CONCLUSIVELY. Including Congressional investigations, Treaties, AND United States Supreme Court cases.

  52. God's nxt army...What a tittle. If you are at all religious I think you would agree that this infers a large group of people who's intentions and actions ultimately reflect the will of God. If you believe in God and his word as stated in, for instance, The King James Version of the Bible, you might also believe that this is an excellent foundation on which to build. In theory, with this Believe. My problem though is that I have seen those words of God twisted and misrepresented by people much more learned than myself, in such a way as to mislead many a person for personal gain...this is sad and scary.Especially if you are vurnerable...whether you belive your self to be or not. Also there are many different people who worship devoutly in many different ways...are they wrong or are you right...says who? God made Humans...many different, in many ways, but humans neveertheless just as the birds, fish, animals, and insect...trees and plants...That says to me in my opinion that God in his wisdom enjoys variety...He has found a way to make this variety co=exist and this we must also find a way to emulate...our greatest downfall being that regardless we all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God...I believe that God believes we are still worthy of his mercy which is why were above all others made in his likeness. If it is true that all things are for the good and glory of God...you can't appreciate heat without having been cold, light without dark, Good without bad then at the very lest in my opinion these brothers and sisters will serve as a wake up for a country that is so lost in materilism...capitolism that it is ashamed. Maybe we'll be reminded that Gods will is first...Love thy neighbor as thy self!

  53. @A. T.

I was with you on the "sickening" part, but you lost me on the:

"why pray and wait, when you can think and do?"

Wait, do you mean, they are forcing their ideas of prophecy onto the world?

If that is what you meant, then YES, I agree, it is chilling.

They are like some James Bond villians, plotting the destruction of the world... only... where is Bond to stop them?

    We need Bond... or Batman...

  54. why pray and wait, when you can think and do?

  55. Yes, lets recreate the Dark Ages.

    This is sickening.

  56. @B.J.

I think you broke the code there...

  57. Did anyone else notice that the 'right people' are all white people?

  58. The whole thing is hauntingly similar to the Hitler Youth. The level of ignorance is astounding! Very sad, very disturbing.

  59. This is nothing new. Rich, white, sheltered Middle-American pussies with no ability to think for themselves who foreclose on the beliefs of their parents, grandparents, preachers and communities without so much as questioning these "traditional" beliefs.

I'd love nothing more than to punch every one of those little goody two-shoes in their pouty-lipped faces.

  60. @Charles B. who wrote:

"This is obviously a media bias. The constitution does not separate church and state as they would have us believe. It actually wants to stop a state-run mandated religion like the Chruch of England, not living out your Christianity in office."

Charles, this is patently false. Do you have a copy of the Constitution on hand? I do. It is the only holy book I acknowledge.

Do you have the works, (diaries, letters, other correspondences) of our Founding Fathers in your library? I do.

I can tell you, without reservation, that this country was founded on the dream that we could, somehow, dig out from under the oppression and tyranny of religion-- and christianity in particular.

Our Founders had seen the horror of christain rule first hand and risked their lives to free us from it. And you and your kind betray them.

    Sad.

  61. I think it's interesting to note that if any one group of people, training their children to take hold of the reins of power en masse, held the belief that, say, George Bush's word was ultimate and irrefutable and that it was their duty to come to power and enforce his will on the mass of people in this nation that we would call them nuts and look at them as essentially dictatorial parasites on ANY manner of republican or democratic principles. So, why then, is it ok that they hold the same views of an invisible old man with a flowing beard who lives in the sky and has wagged his finger at humanity's transgressions for five thousand years? There is NO semblance whatsoever of democratic tradition inherent in Christianity. There is ONLY dictatorial power that they understand.

What scares me most of all is that their plans are secret. What do they plan to do with us non-Christians? A tax? Concentration camps? And what does re-Christianizing America mean? Public trials and executions for non-believers? Massive government conversion squads?

But I don't think that we need to be afraid of them. There is a MASSIVE ground swell of disenfranchisement and anger toward the governments, state and local, in this county. I'm not even talking about the Tea Party movement but real anger and genuine feeling of the lack of power that will, if we continue on the course we're on now, is going to EXPLODE and manifest itself in widespread violence on the part of their people against their government. I feel that when that happens, if these children are where their plan places them in a decade or so, THEY will be the ones being dragged out of the offices of power and subject to the justice of the people whose power they have taken away.

I just hope they never, ever, ever get to control the destinies of myself, my family and my neighbors who don't believe their warped version of Christianity.

  62. I seriously fear for this country. Bring the country back to God? The common misconception is that the founding fathers of America were Christian, when in fact they are quoted as saying that the world would be better of without religion! This country was started to *escape* government centralized intolerant religion! If the pilgrims could see us today, they would weep. To think they worked so hard for us to turn into the way England used to be... I'm moving to Japan.

  63. @puppets & muppets

Maybe if you just try the one God; he'll just knock you off your feet with His grace & love. He does it for me everyday. LOL

What you quote in regards to "eye for an eye" law is not completely accurate; though I COMPLETELY understand the confusion.

In Leviticus, yes - it does state eye for an eye, people shouldn't eat of the flesh of hoofed animals, women on their cycle are unclean, etc...

Historically, the Leviticus Book of Law was the legal & ethical religious text for post Egypt Israelites. And was followed rigorously. Apart of the Old Testament in the Christian Bible, it is still referenced as religious text by followers of Judaism as it is a part of the Torah (Hebrew Bible). The New Testament chronicles the life right before the birth of Christ & and life after His death. The Old & New Testament make up the Christian Bible.
Now, as Christians believed Jesus died on the cross for the salvation of mankind; people (known as Christians) prayed to Jesus Christ, their eternal sacrificial animal, for forgiveness of sins rather than literally slaughter an animal.
Furthermore, Christians (most) do not have the "eye for an eye" mentality because our faith teaches us that Jesus is the vindicator of all. Thus we don't chop off the hand of a person who steals from us. Or at least we shouldn't. We believe God to be ultimate judge of justice for all. Kinda like a celestial Judge Judy. LOL.
I can understand how that can seem a bit overwhelming, but I would encourage you to at least research somethings. I recommend reading (at least Leviticus)the Bible as a history book. It's really pretty interesting - good stories

  64. @Anyone in general with love...

Living principles of love creates a better nation, a better world. It's the foundation of Christianity. How dare I love my God and hate my Brother? How dare I give God all of me and never extend myself to my Sister? Who am I to proclaim myself as a follower Christ but literally turn my nose to those deemed "moral decay"?

"For if I have faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing." 1st Corinth 13:2

It saddens me, yes - the downward spiral of morality, but more so the apathetic attitude from those who claim to be religious towards, How they say? - oh yes, societal decay.

Enough of my rant, pretty interesting school or documentary rather; I'd never heard of PHC before this. I would just caution PHC students (and everyone else)to be aware of who they're working for here on earth & divinely. Many use Christianity as a campaign peg and could careless about really following Christ. Which is really sad, because His love is so amazing.

So, I'll end on this note, literally. LOL

I wanted to included a lyric from poem and I hope ya'll dig - 'cause it really makes me think, especially in regards to what I just watched. Mr. Kweli speak to 'em....

    "They're looking for absolution
    Living in mass confusion
In a induced psychopath to create
    a last solution
Based on their interpretation of what
    the Bibles' saying
Looking to do the work of God but end
up doing the work of Satan...."

Ya'll can google search the whole thing. Pretty powerful words. "Hell" by Talib Kweli.

    Peace & Blessings ya'll....

  65. oh dear magical man in the sky, they teach creationism in science class? How is this not against the law?

  66. "When you have homosexual marriage, you have a deviation of those Christian morals and it is unproductive for our society as a whole"

    what a dumb bitc*.

I have never seen more self-centered, self-obsessed, arrogrant pricks as I do here. It's all "God did this for me", "God has a plan for me"...me me me meeeeeeee. Yea, I'm sure your god has nothing better to do than help you get an A in class.

This is both funny and scary. More the latter.

  67. I completely agree that these guys are dangerouse but you aint seen nothing yet. I live in the bible belt see North Alabama to be exact. I am from Chicago but had to move here to take care of my parents in thier old age. High schools -heck elementary schools start the indoctrination of Christianity here as soon as they get the child. This is then reinforced all the way through college and beyond if you stay here. It is truly scary, these are the children that will assume control around here as soon as they are old enough. See around here you know who will grow up to be in charge cause it's the same last names that where in charge in the 1800's. This small majority uses religion and patriotism to keep the masses ignorant and under paid. This in turn keeps them busy with the small neccessities in life like earning enough to pay the bills and eat. We have an 80% poverty rate and 40% unemployment. This will never change as any new employers coming in are scrutinized by the local city councils- they have to O.K. any business within the city limits. These city councils are made up of the same people they have been for decades, they own all present businesses and most real estate in the Tri-county area. It is in thier interest that things stay as they are. I know that one company that is now operating here was offering to pay three dollarrs an hour more than thier present top salary. The city council told them they would pay what they said or not open a business here. Of course if they had paid what they wanted the people that worked for the guys on the council would have quit and went to the new jobs. So insted of increasing thier top pay to meet current industry standards they had the new business pay no more than them, keeps every thing more simple you see. If any one local starts making money and maybe finds away to get a real education they might realize they where getting screwed and they can't have that. They run the educational system, the utility system, right down to the penial system. You really can't speak up about it because if you do where will you work and live.- they will make life hell for you trust me. They pull you over constantly, screw up any chance of getting a job, start crazy rumours about you- you can't get a place to rent even. I just keep my mouth shut and wait for the day when i can move back up north.

  68. The Army is aware of the other religions and other Gods I hope.
Just knowing others out there may extremely hate your believe. Does that not raise a grammar school question about an authentic religion, having around the planet all these other Gods? It's perhaps all ready too late if these religion victims all force baptized before the age of consent, or read, or understand what baptism means. No changing God's now (he says)! I'm no expert but since the real God never steped up in three worls wars- maybe hold a World raffle for the real Mr Big. Or just scratch em' all and start over with the sun again, stars, etc....

  69. Ok, just watched it. I agree it is highly reminiscent of 'Jesus Camp' (and would not be surprised if some of those children now attend this 'University'), however I would maintain that 'Jesus Camp' is still the more disturbing of the two documentaries... if only because we were privy to the extreme indoctrination of those young children. However, these poor students, only a couple of years younger than myself, have been seriously deprived of basic human freedoms... priory to free speech comes free thought, and this has been methodically removed from their pool of abilities. It's cruel. While some of the morals put forth by various religions are noble and, well, common sense, religion myths as a whole are so obviously fictitious that it is abhorrent to think such a high percentage of a supposedly 'civilized' nation adhere to such literal translations of these myths. I wish them all well in their lives. I hope many of them are able to overcome the obstacles to their happiness and success that have been thrust in their path. For those that are unable to do so... I feel terribly for their future children...

  70. I just finished watching the BBC documentary, God’s Next Army. I was not surprised that Patrick Henry College reinvents Biology to fit their erroneous notion that the Bible is inerrant; however, I was very surprised by the way Patrick Henry College contorts the meaning of Biblical scriptures to support the big business agenda of the Republican Party.

For example, what part of the Bible tells us to privatize social security, repeal the estate tax and reject a compensation fund for asbestos victims that would be primarily financed by the manufacturers of this hazardous material? The 24th Psalm is cited; however, that really seems like one is stretching the meaning way beyond authorial intent.

  71. dear americans...not that my country is significantly better off but i fear for you guys. many people in your current and past administrations came out of biblical and evangelical colleges, (and law schools, yeesh!).

The entrenchment of low key zealots throughout your government are the very reason that these kids can get internships. i believe that the majority of politicians currently in power in your country will say whatever suits them at the time, however these people as a demographic are being pandered too and they have a certain amount of power in the polls.

the fact that they are rich organizations with well funded lobbyists is terrifying to those of us, regardless of spiritual beliefs, who watch the erosion of hard won freedoms in the country that fancies itself the model of democracy.

enforcing a specifically religious agenda without regard for the rights of others to pursue happiness and freedom on their own terms is what so many find offensive. god is not the issue. the belief that one specific group has a right above all others to determine the points of the moral compass, with regards to marriage, sexuality, knowledge, worship, clothing, music, literature and so on is heinously undemocratic and decidedly un-american. may we all be protected from those who would presume to tell us how to exist in the world. by all means send the poor kids to the indoctrination mills, that is your right, but stay out of our right to think and learn and know differently than you "true believers". hopefully democracy can save america from a narrow interpretation of god.

  72. On average home schooled children do better academically then children taught via the public school system. The problem isn't with where they are taught, with the kids in this doc, it's what they are taught.

On another note, I agree watching this film was very disturbing but I hope others don't hold these kids responsible for what they say as they are as brainwashed as one could be. Let's just hope that the light of reason while shine upon them sometime in the future.

Until then and always be sure to get out and vote for any reasonable person who is running in opposition to those with this type of mindset.

  73. Silly evangelicals. Favorite Quote: "Because Christianity is one of the oldest religions..." I can tell someone was home schooled...

  74. my pagans gods are more peacefull than all your oneless dumb god that teached blood for blood and an eyes for eyes
what kind insane god teach like this ?

  75. Hmmm Religious zealots. Seeing as we're dropping scary religious propaganda, I'll just leave this here. Nothing like a justification for murdering doctors to brighten up your morning... This is from the Army of God's terror manual.

After praying, fasting, and making continual supplication to God for your pagan, heathen, infidel souls, we then peacefully, passively presented our bodies in front of your death camps, begging you to stop the mass murdering of infants. Yet you hardened your already blackened, jaded hearts. We quietly accepted the resulting imprisonment and suffering of our passive resistance. Yet you mocked God and continued the Holocaust. No longer! All of the options have expired. Our Most Dread Sovereign Lord God requires that whosoever sheds man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed. Not out of hatred of you, but out of love for the persons you exterminate, we are forced to take arms against you

  76. They said they want to make this country Christian again. What do they plan to do with Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, Atheists, etc?

Hmmm, maybe these verses in the Bible gives us a hint:

    Deuteronomy
13:6 "If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which is as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers; 13:7 Namely, of the gods of the people which are round about you, nigh unto thee, or far off from thee, from the one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth; 13:8 Thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him: 13:9 But thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people."

  77. The Republicans aren't in charge anymore! I had planned to vote against the Democrats in the next election, but now I'm not sure. These Republican Fundamentalist Christians are darn scary!

Look out! Here comes America's version of the Taliban!!!

  78. Very similar to Jesus Camp, but at a much more haunting level. This movie really shows the quasi-intellectual side of the Born-Again belief system. I really hope for all these kids' sake that they come to grips with reality and realize that the true problems of the world are much more than gay marriage, abortion, gun rights and big government. If these kids end up running Washington we will really be in for dark days.

P.S. Creationism in a biology class? And that explanation of geological stratification; absolute bollocks.

  79. Let me preface my comments by saying that I'm an atheist and my political views lean towards Ron Paul-style libertarianism, so I basically think both sides of the US political spectrum are full of cr^p.

This film is somewhere between hilarious and terrifying. It embarrasses me to be associated with this institution, its teachers, and its students as fellow Americans. The "education" this "university" offers is a joke and their political agenda is rather sinister and frighteningly narrow-minded.

Particularly loltastic was the bio teacher:

"I think that understanding the difference between good science and bad science is incredibly important..."

Followed (almost in the same breath) by:

"I personally think the key to understanding geologic observation is the flood of Genesis..."

    LOL ok lady.

  80. PHC represents a dangerous threat America's liberal republic. Its mission is to train young Evangalist Christians take hold of the levers of Government power at the highest levels in order to "Re-Christianize" the US. Anyone who isn't Born Again better be damn scared! Separation of Church and State?!? Not in their eyes. They want the laws of our country to reflect the teachings of the Bible as they understand it in their own narrow reactionary way.
As usual, they're obsessed with homosexuality. One kid says he would like to see not only the Estate Tax repealed, but all property taxes. Why? Because the Bible says the land belongs to God, not the state. Well, logic like this can't be debated, because there isn't any to debate. Apparently, Evangelicals would also like to rid our country of the scourge of Social Security. I'm firmly convinced they'd actually like to dismantle any and all social safety nets. Why? Because the poor and desperate, the elderly and disabled will have little choice but to come to the Church for private charity. How glorious! A growing captive audience for your Christ Cult.
If only the Liberal Left were 1/100th as organized and radicalized...

  81. This is the first time I'm hearing about this college. I'm so glad for these kids. Most of all, I'm glad these kids have the guts to get in the face of secular relativism. I applaud them.
Hope to see them lead this country!! Down with the ACLU. They have done us no good at all.

  82. i pity this kids..sheep

  83. I hope these kids never gain any power. To run our country on a book of lies is scary "crap".

I swear I'm tellin people im russain...

  84. If they are working hard to become tomorrows "good christian leaders" and they are studying under the pretense that the United States is a Christian nation, I would like to know what those students' opinions are with regard to people who are not Christian.

And what happened to the "separation of church and state?"

This documentary made me very uncomfortable.

  85. Nate - Right on, excellent story.

Charles B. Who are you trying to convince? It seems to be yourself.

John, a truly awesome Benjamin Franklin quote, among many a wise word from the maestro.

Capricious - Charles is not ignorant. He is just in a power struggle with himself. He needs to defend the word of his God to justify his existence. If he knew God existed, he would have no need to justify it. Deep down he knows this. If he didn't, the word "faith" would become meaningless. That is something Christians can't do, no matter how born again they are. That is their eternal psychological conclusion.

As for the film, none of them look as sharp as Ivy league students, and sound much less so, as almost all educational subjects are totally at odds with the existence of a god or the literal word of the bible. Indeed, the dean says that "we do not need knowledge of the outside world". How can they compete with Ivy league educational establishments?

Also, Ivy league colleges are not named after just one man, as only religion and its arrogance that it knows better than you, can come up with such egotistical propositions.

  86. Charles B, how do you watch so many documentaries and yet, are still are so unbelievably ignorant?

Separation of church and state isn't what "everyone thinks it is"? Have you ever read the freaking bill of rights? I'm guessing you haven't as it is spelled out VERY clearly, and even using a VERY digestible vocabulary. You simply try and make a twisted interpretation of it, that, I'm guessing, you probably got from some creationist. You certainly couldn't read the actual bill of rights and come to such an ignorant conclusion. It is not in place JUST to protect us from Church of England type organizations - it is in place to protect us from zealots and fanatics of all flavors. It is simply unconstitutional for a public servant to act solely to behest his religious views. If you think otherwise, you're simply wrong. I'd paste the exact sentences from the BofR but I honestly couldn't expect you to learn anything, so I'm not going to bother. Look it up.

"The bible says..." The bible also says it's okay to rape a woman as long as you marry her afterwards. Some book! Don't quote mine your disgusting desert fairy tale as if its some sort of judicial literature. Just because children and the supremely naive fall for such a foolish gimmick doesn't validate it or bolster your argument whatsoever.

The bible says... jeez. On this site too?? You gotta be kidding me man. It's a shame how polluted some peoples minds truly are.

"The learned corruption of learning - THAT'S what makes people stupid." - from Definition of Stupidity.

I'm sorry, but if in this day and age, if you still honestly believe the bible to be "the work of god", you deserve absolutely no respect on an intellectual level and you should be publicly debased at every opportunity. Eventually, with any luck and a no-bullshit-attitude, we'll finally rid our planet of the perverse psychological virus known as religion.

I apologize for my tone to some degree, but that ignorant comment really ticked me off.

  87. The danger here is that we could make the same mistake as Nazi Germany before WWII. The Nazi came to power on a platform of condemning social ills, poverty and other things while claiming to be for God and Christian. Today many rightly believe that the government has swung to far to the left. The danger is when the opposing party develops and cultivates a ground swell of support to take back the high ground and swing the pendelum to the right. How far to the right will it swing? Nazi Germany found out the hard way. Their leaders claimed to be Christian yet a close look at their leaders theology practices and believes tells us they were bad fruit.
Dominionism theology and Joels Army theology and Kingdom Now theology is creeping into many churchs. People do not read their Bible for their selves. Jesus did not tell us to conquer the World. He told us to spread His Gospel to all nations by our words not swords. Many people are decieved by this theology today.

Many people blindly followed Hitler and his leaders in a passionate way and thought they were doing right. There is nothing wrong with stopping and critically thinking about what your doing and believeing. This documentary is a good example of how leaders can cherry pick scriptures totally out of context to mislead many thinking they are serving God.

Don't follow man. Don't be afraid to question motives of others. Follow Jesus Christ. Know those who labor amoung you.

  88. An insightful film into the Republican fundamentalist movement.

The indoctrination of do your masters bidding (not Gods, but your employers), is the arms length distance that allows for over zealous actions to happen, while those in power to aviod blame.

I can't remeber seeing any African-Americans in the film, which is odd because Patrick Henry owned 300, the same number as the student body.

  89. I wonder where are all the minorities that live in America??
Also they remind me of a taliban madrassa

  90. "When a Religion is good, I conceive it will support itself; and when it does not support itself, and God does not take care to support it so that its Professors are obliged to call for help of the Civil Power, it is a sign, I apprehend, of its being a bad one." - Benjamin Franklin (from a letter to Richard Price, October 9, 1780)

  91. Wow! This was a great documentary! I didn't know of Patrick Henry College before this documentary. Thanks Vlatko.

I support these young people 100%. A very wise move to better our country.

    The documentary summery says:

"Though the separation of church and state is enshrined in the US Constitution, with financial backing from the evangelical community the college aims to ‘rechristianise’ America; to ‘preserve the world from the sinfulness of man'".

This is obviously a media bias. The constitution does not separate church and state as they would have us believe. It actually wants to stop a state-run mandated religion like the Chruch of England, not living out your Christianity in office.

As the Bible says: "When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan." (Proverbs 29:2).

"Father, from the White House to my house, Lord, let our nation honor and serve You yet again."

    1. As the Bible says: "When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan." (Proverbs 29:2). IF we're using this as a measure of whether or not a leader is "righteous," well...the groaning under trumpf is deafening. #voteblue

  92. The only thing I thought worthwhile watching and funny, in this holier than thou, brainwashing, goody two shoes doc. Was the gross commercial.
1 minute 48 sec. in, about a extremely fat guy jiggling his whale fat about, while weighing himself!

There is nothing else for me to comment on about religion, that people have not heard before!

  93. I had a friend who went to PHC for a year before transferring. He was a homeschooled conservative evangelical. I guess you might say that he had a sheltered upbringing from hearing that, but he did have the fortune of being able to travel to Europe a couple of times so he wasn't totally ignorant of the world around him. Anyway, at some point his BS detector got set off and I got to watch his transformation into one of the more liberal people I've ever met. Granted, being from Oklahoma that might not be saying much.

    I know, cool story bro.

  94. Their science department is contemptible! What a dangerous group these children will become if they ever achieve any significant power. In some ways this reminds of the way the Hitler Youth were indoctrinated.

  95. What a horrible place...a veritable camp of brainwashing.

  96. These poor children. A heartbreaking documentary.
