Extreme Love: Autism
Louis Theroux visits DLC Warren, an innovative school for children with autism located in New Jersey, to gain an insider’s look at the day-to-day lives and challenges faced by the autistic community and their families. Autism, a development disability characterised by a poor ability to socialise and communicate, occurs in approximately one percent of the population.
Extreme Love: Autism attempts to shed light on the lives of people faced with having to cope with extraordinary circumstances by telling their stories in a straightforward, unflinching manner. Theroux meets children of various ages, from early childhood to young adulthood, and witnesses the peculiar ways in which they perceive the word.
