Elite athletes today are bigger, stronger and can lift heavier weights than ever before. Even in the lowest weight classes, they lift …

Look at the records pre steroids and you would see what natural strength is
Thor's lift didn't count and wasn't official. Your dad can't weigh the weights.
Thats not true Thor didn't lift 500, there were no officials there and a lot of controversy after he claimed it to be, but in the end he was caught lying, he's a lair and a cheat who CLAIMED to have beaten the record but refuses to attempt it again with officials weighting the weights.
This jew trying to advocate roids for sure
Well if u are allowing me to use equipment I can tell you I can lift over 10tons on my own power.
Only weight record i will recognize is those that are completely unassisted. No equipment, nothing to help you. Just your own bones, muscles, and sinue
2:58 FEEL THOSE STEROIDS SURGING THROUGH YOUR VEINS!!
hey Dr. Mike!
25:38
30:45 that line is absolutely not what the dots look like
Eddie makes more tourqe power to weight than an average car, and he could travel further than a Tesla, true story, ask AI
Correction: Thor's "breaking" Eddie's record was not official and done without calibrated weights. He has since, so far, failed to deadlift 501KG on the elephant bar.
I only clicked for the Beast. 😅
My favorite deadlift is still Benny Magnusson's 461kg RAW deadlift.
501 was faked i think eddie said its not real since its not offical
I would love for a scientific analysis and subsequent story about how much force is put out in a collegiate / olympic wrestling match. Typically you get a huge surge of adrenaline before a match and I think both opponents tap into hysterical reserves of strength, which is partially why the sport is so tiring because it is hysterical strength vs hysterical strength.
This is just my opinion after competing for several years though, but would love to see a scientific analysis of this and if there is a way to measure it, to see if we are more capable of turning of those neurological limits when compared to other athletes
Eddie's lift is the only notable lift here.
What the heck do they eat?
Back in the day before steroid injections were mandatory…
I can get behind the idea and implementation for "open" categories around PEDs. I believe it's the only way we evolve to the point where we eventually settle down (societally) to the interest of natural talents. Let those who want to use PED use them and compete against each OTHER, not those who have tried to stay natural. I think we'll find the markets naturally when we stop pretending that there are athletes who want to use PEDs to find their physical limits. The idea of A-rod not having displaced half a dozen other 3rd basemen in MLB means there would be A market for natural baseball, and another for the PED league where he could compete. Anybody who uses PED in leagues banning such usage should be banned for life from BOTH leagues.
There, that's my idea, and my compromise on my values. I'd rather ban PEDs, but I understand the thirst of others to see records broken. I understand that without them, there will be a LONG lull period, and with that alongside the fact that everybody is getting more and more impatient thanks to technology, it would be insane to think that PEDs wouldn't eventually be allowed into major sports. I just hope that my endorsement is heeded so we can keep BOTH leagues separate. The PED crew will likely find themselves with more health issues initially, but maybe they'll push through those early deaths, and do good science to find a balance. I just hope we can have MORE options in viewership of sport. Lifting, playing, etc. these are the areas where males excel, and I hope to see them safer for all. Let's keep our skepticism, but give an alternative for those with different values. I'm older now, and open to watching both leagues. Heck. A MLB on PED vs natural MLB exhibition game would be AWESOME. Football on the otherhand… yuck.
Thank you for this interesting video around PEDs. I needed to revisit my feelings around the issue, and you provided me the time to do so.
No natty's were used in the filming of this video.
Ped's! I meant ped's!
Eddie Hall is such a sweetheart. Thanks for agreeing to the tests!
My algorithm is healing!! Love this type of content!
I would've liked to see the presenter see how much he can deadlift 😛
better "when" in fron of your cameras…
I can slightly lift and push my car around with my calves, supporting my hands on my knees.
Much of this video seems good and/or interesting, but I have to find fault with the idea of an Olympics-like competition where doping is allowed.
First, the women. Anabolic/androgenic steroids, if I am not mistaken, can harm female (to say nothing of male) fertility, and do permanent damage to certain tissues (enlarging the larynx for instance, so that a woman's voice is permanently deeper). I am against transgenderism, whether desired or as an accepted side effect of trying to win a medal.
Second, I am against transhumanism (except for life extension, where I maintain some doubt). Where does this end up? Before the technological singularity, tampering with human biology competitively is unsafe – we do not know enough, and what we do know gives us pause (testosterone, HGH, etc.). After the singularity, there are no natural limits. What happens if someone wants to compete with giant robot limbs stuck on their body, etc.? It makes no more sense than having race cars compete against rockets, and would be far more harmful.
P.S. I am against men using steroids competitively too. I don't think humans have the right to alter their own biology at risk to themselves for trivial reasons. We are ultimately stewards, rather than owners, of our bodies.
I believe that old school lifter. He was natural and really strong.
Enhanced idea, removing stigma… its all kinda silly cuz it would directly corelate to damaging their bodies.
Thor never lifted 500 kg ! so how did he lift 501 ?
For those who know, I saw The Rebbe in the background of the interviewer.
Saying 505 is almost impossible, which is definitely wrong. There's many more kilos in the tank. I'd argue Eddie could have done 520 in his prime if he wanted, and Thor also had 520 even on the day of his attempt approximately. Freaks will continue to push the boundaries both in strongman and powerlifting.
eddie is actually a beast wtaf. imagine if he was the same size as hafpor
the opening sounds so stupid but i clicked and I'm 100% here for it. almost as much as watching a huge rock fall in water or getting pushed down a hill
The answer is drugs, men have gotten stronger and bigger over time because drugs there's no need to make a whole video about it LOL but I'll watch it
1:30 that snatch is 225kg I think… insane
29:53 Israetel is a drug addict and a fraud
There werent even men at the beginning of time
thors lift was faked to eddies official setting > gyym setting with your pops – which do you think is more reliable and trustworthy
Its gonna get broken and many will follow suit. Then 510 etc.
wow cant believe you actually talked to serious people here.. what a pleasant surprise
Shtrength
What if we had an andre the giant again with steroids, training and nutrition?
Woah you guys got dr mike on here? Business insider really did their research 27:46
Great report.
'i believe all humans are enhanced' cuz…phone lol ok clown
Oh, yes, the "enhanced" (read "dies at 35) sports…
