The only wealth they are bringing back is going to the billionares. Tarrifs are taxes, and we are going to pay. The rich are getting the tax breaks, read the House budget framework, $4.5 trillion in increased debt over 10 years, the same amount as the cost to extend 2017 cuts. No tax breaks for the middle class, no DOGE checks.
They love deregulation. The regulations they want to get rid of protect our health, clean air and water. They want to pollute, and everyday Americans are going to get sick and die. They want to cut regulations on the banking industry, which will create the same conditions that led up to 2007-2009.

Trump’s plan is not sound. If you place high tariffs on businesses to encourage them to build plants in the U.S., they may do it, but that will require a substantial cash outlay, then they’ll have to raise prices on goods due to the higher employee costs. If Trump tried to offset those costs with tax breaks, that will not be a short term solution because the government needs tax revenue to function. Once Trump leaves office, businesses will lobby like hell to get those tariffs removed so they can go back to offshoring because the input cost of U.S. wages is a huge expense. Obviously everyone wants manufacturing to return, but this isn’t the 1950s. We now have competition. Countries across the world have manufacturing capabilities and to much cheaper labor than is available in the U.S. Businesses will always try to cut their expenses. Trump’s tariffs are a market distortion that will be long term enough to cause disruption to businesses and the U.S. economy, but they produce the sustained U.S. manufacturing riding boom that Trump hopes to accomplish. There will be no additional American prosperity as a result of this economic plan.
