Coal remains a significant source of energy globally, contributing 26% of the world's energy in 2023, more than all non-fossil fuel sources combined

those of us that have watched the rail lines continue to move coal via raillines over the years know that coal operations never really ceased anyway

I live on the east coast mid Atlantic. I just saw two fifty to one hundred car trains filled with coal, how is the USA using all that coal. How will the electric company use coal to generate electricity? Will coal power up all the solar panels the electric company now uses to generate electricity?Who are we exporting it to? What US factories use coal to power their equipment? Are we moving forward or backward? Can the miners be trained in another field ? When I travel west in my state I see deserted mining towns, people without basic services and without work. So we see the mile long trains loaded with coal, but we don’t see the benefits of all that mining going to the people who work those mines.

"They have more practice lifting things, but they're great people!" So people who do labor need a "but." This dude is a joke. "Ah yeah, my buddy is a laborer, but he's a good person!" My goodness. How are so many people unable to see what this man is?

Coal can be environmentally friendly if CO2 and harmful gases are captured from the exhaust which can be done easily.

@CuriousMind477 April 16, 2025 - 4:56 pm

So as the world moves away from coal (for obvious reasons) Trump moves us backwards. "Moving the US backwards" seems to be the main theme of his presidency so far
