‘Super-rich’ is not multi millionaires, it’s Billionaires that have mad billions via corruption.

@nomadsteve5297 April 18, 2025 - 12:12 pm

By agreeing with this caller then we must be agreeing with socialism 😮

@ebrahimgallant5095 April 18, 2025 - 12:12 pm

This guy on here is typical of those who follow the crowd….The wealthy have never used the NHS period . They go off to private hospitals and clinics. The NHS is funded by the masses for the masses and all things considered is a marvel of the world

@charliebruce592 April 18, 2025 - 12:12 pm

She’s absolutely correct most of the cabinet have off shore accounts.

@jbq259 April 18, 2025 - 12:12 pm

Scary that the same thing that happened in the US is happening in the UK and others. Same rhetoric. Trying to get you to focus on punching down instead of punching up tax the wealth. They'll still be wealthy but it's gone too far

@stevepetty7009 April 18, 2025 - 12:12 pm

There is huge wealth among the UK super rich who have benefitted enormousley during covid. So why does the UK need to rely on China for it‘s critical infrastructure investment

@snu666 April 18, 2025 - 12:12 pm

The super rich earn most of their money via passive income from assets. This passive income needs taxing.

@pm84798 April 18, 2025 - 12:12 pm

Theresa mays mate wasnt he?

@henryjohnfacey8213 April 18, 2025 - 12:12 pm

Around here it's the normal and the fashion to cheat by not pay your taxes. These are the real benefit cheats
expecting me to subsidise the society where they make their wealth. A lot of the time hidden behind the cloak of business confidentiality. Take the city of London. The Brexiteers.

@danielriley8131 April 18, 2025 - 12:12 pm

Tom, have you heard of tax havens? That’s were the ultra wealthy put their money. They do not spend it on roads or the NHS. What they should be contributing in taxes pays for those.
Mate, I used to respect you. Not any more.

@amaliajarosi2018 April 18, 2025 - 12:12 pm

They don't need to "contribute" they just need to pay their fair share of taxes prortionate to their earnings. And, no insider trading and offshore skeems.

@mouwafakchourbagui8296 April 18, 2025 - 12:12 pm

It is becoming more and more evident that the "free press" is actuallt just the mouthpiece of the establishment

@davidparsons8318 April 18, 2025 - 12:12 pm

Why not start with the way tax dollars are spent and wasted. Why give more until they spend it better

@daviniarobbins9298 April 18, 2025 - 12:12 pm

She is right. If you are born poor chances are you will die poor. It is very rare to become a billionaire starting from zero.

@Will-b1l April 18, 2025 - 12:12 pm

Also well done caller you are calm cool and right. The lady talking to tom about wealth and investment. And honest practice.

@Will-b1l April 18, 2025 - 12:12 pm

I checked. Out comments after I made my comment. So I wasn't. Influenced by others. Turns out I was correct. Everyone else knows Tom. Is on another. Planet.

@Will-b1l April 18, 2025 - 12:12 pm

The interviewer. Is not listening he can't. Wait to speak. And small. Attention. Is his name tom. Get a new job.

@anthonywakefield3707 April 18, 2025 - 12:12 pm

You dont get rich by paying taxes

@Iskandar64 April 18, 2025 - 12:12 pm

Billionaires were either born into it or through privilege in some form. A few might have made it at the start through their own graft, but for a millionaire to become a billionaire has to be achieved through the work of others. Not enough of that earned wealth is going to employees or being paid in tax. She is basically right.

@DunnCarnage April 18, 2025 - 12:12 pm

Pretty clear that at least one oerson in this chat understands how capitalism works and it isn't the radio host.

@lajollapowell4068 April 18, 2025 - 12:12 pm

I’m confused Britain’s epitomises generational wealth and them not having to pay their fair share of taxes – look at our head of state – we have always given them a free ride – they are considered our betters – when we say wealthy we always talk about institutions from somewhere else – we have lots of home grown ones as well – we can’t keep saying yeah but…

@MaybeLater82 April 18, 2025 - 12:12 pm

…yep, every single multimillionaire has achieved their success off the back of others. They don't print their own money….they take it from other people, that's the nature of commerce. Let's take a look at the richest man in the world….he inherited his financial start from a man who ran an opal mine in south Africa during the apartheid. Bezos wants his staff to wake up terrified. She's correct, and while not all millionaires are inherently bad, I have never met one that was sqeeky clean, and as a restauranteur I met a few….

@martinrooms3084 April 18, 2025 - 12:12 pm

I'm disappointed with you tom move over

@ABO-Destiny April 18, 2025 - 12:12 pm

Super richness even if that wealth had come through honest means which inside any long standing capitalist system will be foolish to accept anyway will also be a hotspot for divisions inside any society and over multiple generations inside any non equalising capitalist system that division will only increase.

@AdamClarke1 April 18, 2025 - 12:12 pm

Tennis is highly nuanced. Both can be correct. It's also not the fault or those that inherited money or are self made for the loopholes that exist. Until this is a global tax system and loopholes are closed, this will happen forever.

@jillageinthevillage8481 April 18, 2025 - 12:12 pm

I haven't found one comment on here who disagrees with the caller..

@lynnejamieson2063 April 18, 2025 - 12:12 pm

The caller is completely correct. The UK is know as a tax haven because of all the loopholes that are available to the most wealthy. Which enables them to pay effectively a lower rate of tax than those in minimum wage jobs and by exploiting employment laws that enable them to pay wages that the government then has to top up with Universal Credit. Anyone who thinks that the most wealthy in our society got there through hard work and benevolence, deserve to be sold as many chocolate teapots as they encounter.

@EwonneStrand April 18, 2025 - 12:12 pm

The old times rich did let money drop down to the society for there's own interests and because they intelligent and decent.

The billioner's nowadays do as she told you.

@teryd5672n April 18, 2025 - 12:12 pm

The politics of envy. Most wealth is the result of hard work, risk taking and enterprise. Tiny minority inherit vast wealth.

@kingdong2484 April 18, 2025 - 12:12 pm

I don't think we have an NHS worth talking about and it doesn't matter who pays into it because the fat cats at the top hoard most of the money and trickle a little down.
