A gorgeous landscape, very much alive
This is just fabulous!. give us more please!
great!
Love your videos so interesting informative and breathtaking
Stunning scenery Gylfi. Your photography does your country proud. I can't wait to see it with my own eyes one day xx
Can't be sure, but the rate of uplift at Svartsengi seems to be diminishing…..
The views are memorizing !
Just breathtaking. Your documentation and photography is beautifully done — I'm really getting the geological and geographical scope of Iceland from your channel. Thank you so much Gylfi.
Beautiful landscape, thx for all your info on the fissures, eruptions ! Will be there in August ❤️🇨🇦🍁
Incredible scenery, information that's not over technical and volcanoes on the naughty list. Gylfi, your videos are a joy.
Magnificent
Six minutes in looks like Allum bay on the Isle of White.
Wow. That place is absolutely stunning….. and fascinating. Looking forward to learning more about it with you.
Wow. No words adequately describe this scenery. Magnificent, amazing, glorious.
Thank you for taking the time to show us your beautiful country.
What fabulous scenery, and all those beautiful little lakes! But I'm a bit doubtful about "the eruption of your delicious system", as the subtitles would have it!
this reminds me of the ''story'' about yellowstone
no matter where the geologists looked in yellowstone they found signs of a volcano but they couldnt find the source and there were no volcanoes nearby that could produce the amounts of ash and devastation they were finding.
and it was only when a geologist hired a plane to try and get a better overview and to try and work out what had happened in the area did he realise that the whole of yellowstone was the volcano.
if the story is true , for a geologist that must have been a squeaky bum moment when you realise that you have found the ''missing'' volcano and its some 50 miles long and 25 miles wide !.
Some beautiful footage. Endlessly gorgeous and primal. Takk Fyrir Gylfi!
Absolutely remarkable and gorgeous. Thank you, Gylfi.
Wow, Gylfi. This landscape is spectacular.
The light is absolutely stunning on the unique landscape – the combination of scoured rock and vibrant green – wow!
Excellent Documentary, your narrative is pleasant, and informative. Thank you, and take care.
Wow! That is beautiful! You are a lucky man to live there, Gylfi.
God how I miss Iceland, so beautiful 😍
Translations from Phd to human is welcome. Thanks G.
Stunning Video, again, thank you! We'll visit Iceland first half of June, so I wouldn't bet on us getting up there, even though we have a decent (and obscenely expensive) rental car, so at least we can look at this breathtaking landscape by watching your videos! Thanx!
Another interesting video and your drone footage is so amazing. Such a beautiful and frightening place.
2:18 looks like a painting
These are stunningly beautiful images! Like a dream or a painting. Unbelievable.
Wow, this is absolutely stunning! It's a dream to visit Iceland one day – I don't know if it will become true.
I love the colors of Iceland. Such beautiful footage. ❤️✌️👍
The colours and textures in the landscape are quite fantastic, very beautiful. Thank you for showing us.
The sound volume (loudness) of narrator's voice is unusually weak here. I checked it for example against this older one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2zSjB8D5sgA. The old one is much easier to listen to, same playback settings.
Did your mic or your audio settings change? Not the first time I noticed weak sound, but this one is bad enough to complain about.
Best regards.
Your videos are perfect. Clear explanations of scientific gobbledygook for us non-boffins, but also explanations that assume your viewers have intelligence. No talking-down, no 'flannel' or hyperbole. Then there's the astounding drone footage of your incrediblly beautiful island. Thank you, Glyfi ❤
It is encouraging that there are places on our planet that are so extraordinary that even the most advanced AI system could not improve them.
Also, the clarity of the air sometimes is so good on your island.
Thanks Gylfi – can't wait for your next film 🙂
What size eruption makes craters like this VEI 9?
Just Icelandic, 4:50: -Hrafntinnuhraun.
Me: -Gesundheit!
Another world, thank you for sharing with us.greetings from Svitzerland
Tank you!
Hi Gylfi,
What a fantastic landscape. They would have to drag me from there because I only would be taking pictures there and would not want to leave.
The problem for me would be that everywhere on Iceland I didn’t want to leave because of the beauty.
Stay safe.
Iceland is full of remarkable landscapes….that's for sure. So beautiful, but it can be disastrous.
We really are insignificant compared to what these volcanoes can do! We humans can do nothing except prepare, and watch the activity of these larger caldera's in their growth stages! Thank you Gylfi, much appreciated for showing us viewers the views!!
I'm back again. I love these videos. Who woulda thunk that is a volcano? but the Degassing vents widely spread point to something big underneath. Heartfelt gratitude Gylfi~ You alway present the most gorgeous shots of your country. I hope you get to the highlands soon. I'm selfish and greedy. 😉
Thankyou for yje update Gylfi
Very neat view of that lava flow that went into the lake at about 5:30 in the video. It looks like there might have been a landslide first, followed by a lava flow. This is definitely a candy store video for professional geologists and geology lovers!
