Philippine Ex-President Duterte Is Arrested Over an ICC Warrant Over His Deadly Drug War

This is politically motivated. Marcos courted Sarah to be his running mate in the last election to secure his victory. Sarah agreed, believing that Marcos was good who would continue what FPRRD (Sarah's father) started, despite her father's (FPRRD) rejection of Marcos and even calling Marcos a "weak leader". Ar first, their tandem seemed promising, but later, Marcos and Romualdez (Marcos's cousin) attempted to use Sarah for their corrupt activities. Instead of complying, she exposed them. Sarah could have been the president now if she had chosen to run for President in the last election. I voted for Marcos because of Sarah. Now, Marcos has betrayed Duterte's and is doing everything to destroy them to stay in power. However, this will not happen as long as the Duterte's remain, especially since Filipinos are urging Sarah to run for President in 2028. The more Marcos oppresses the Duterte's, the more the Filipino people show their love and support for them. The Duterte's are true servants of the Filipino people, which is why they are deeply loved by Filipinos.

a fact that anyone knows how good of a presedent former presedent rodrigo duterte is and he is the first presedent in this modern times where the one who genuinely realy cares for safety and wellfare for his country men in the philippines. majority shows the arrest is a politically driven move. the people who are against duterte is either payed, corrupt, addicts or frog in the well who dont realy knows whats happening. the masses voice will be heard some day and it will be the masses of good knowing people who support rodrigo duterte. i can say all of this because im a proud filipino and as a filipino, im proud of our former president rodrigo duterte.

He was not arrested. He was kidnapped by the Marcos Administration and brought him to the Hague without affording him due process available to him at the local courts. The irony is that Duterte is accused of the allegation that he has caused the killing of 48 alleged drug lords in 8years (2 years as mayor of Davao City and 6years as President).Isn't that ironic for ICC?

As Duterte said to Human Rights advocates when he was President, "Your duty is to protect human rights. My duty (as president) is to protect human lives." When he said that he will be responsible of the results of police or military operation in relation to his Drug War Policy, what he meant is that he is responsible for the consequences of all legitimate police or military acts or operations in pursuit of his policy on war against drug.

Duterte obtained the presidency with an overwhelming votes of over 16million, the highest votes for President in the Philippines. And, the number 1 item of his platform is War against Drug. All through out his administration to date, the trust rating of Duterte has remained over 80%. No official of the Philippines has reached such high trust rating.

When he left Office, his daughter, now sitting President, garnered a vote of over 32Million, the highest votes that an elected official has ever obtained. VP Sarah, despite of her by being impeached by the House of Representatives, has retained her trust rating above 65% a lot higher than Marcos with only 24%.

That 32M votes for Sarah Duterte doubled the votes his father had. That is a manifestation of approval, confirmation and gratitude of most Filipinos for having experienced safe on the streets and secure in their homes even at the darkness of the night. Unsef his 6 years of Presidency,, most Filipinos, back home and abroad, felt safe and secured.

Duterte is the only Presidebt who visited the major countries of all continents to visit their head of states to ensure that Filipinos overseas workers are treated well before he talks about investment and partnership.

Duterte is well loved by most Filipinos because of his policies, "Filipino First. Focus on the Children. More for the poor. Health is wealth. Peace for all." But, the traditional politicians in the Philippines hate him, especially his guts to perform what he promised to do.

I am proud to be Filipino if you have a strong leader in the country like Duterte. Others say he killed thousands but they did not know that he saved million Filipinos.

He is not arrested, He is Kidnapped by our own government in the ICC😡

Our former President Duterte (who will respectfully and figuratively call Tatay Digong or Father Digong) was KIDNAPPED.

Upon arrival from Hongkong, he was informed of his arrest by showing an EMAIL not a warrant of arrest.

He was illegally taken against his will from the airport to Villamor Air Base, which violates ICC Rome Statute Article 59 (it applies even if the Philippines is no longer a member state)

On VAB, he was read his Miranda rights by Police General Torre, who repeatedly violated his Miranda rights. Torre repeatedly denied access to a counsel of former President Duterte's choice as shown on videos. Torre obstructed lawyers by dragging them away, violating Philippine local laws.

Torre repeatedly denied him access to medical care given his age and known medical condition which led to former President Duterte's blood sugar rising up.

Torre denied former President Duterte of the right to validate the warrant and to apply for interim release, violating Rome Statute Article 59 and local laws.

Torre whisked away former President Duterte on a private jet used previously by Bongbong Marcos, proving this was a state-sponsored kidnapping. DILG Secretary Jonvic Remulla later admitted that this was all planned by Bongbong Marcos.

Former President Duterte was denied of a diplomatic courtesy befitting a former President and a common courtesy of a senior citizen of our country.

Bongbong Marcos betrayed the public trust and should be impeached for lying about not cooperating ICC and planning this kidnapping.

Is ICC willing to be forever remembered as a court who will as far as kidnapping to bring the accused (innocent until proven guilty) to their court?

We love President Duterte, he is the best Philippine President so far because he protected us from criminals and drug addicts. With the war of drugs, all of those drug users were given a chance to enroll in community or facility based rehabilitation so they can have a chance to live a clean and drug free life. This is all political done by the Marcos Camp. We the majority of the Filipinos don’t agree with this. See the Philippines now, we go to prayer rallies and motorcades to condemn this ICC Trial. We are not part of the ICC since 2019.
