Lot of SRV behind him, not complaining, love SRV, love Jason 😉
he is familiar with a guitar
YOU ARE MY HERO JASON!!
What a great clip
Amazing how many people nurtured & influenced Jason at such a young age, from his father & his cool music teacher who he credited here & I’ve heard him give acknowledgements to others elsewhere for fostering his interest in music early on in his life.
Wonderful that he is humble & appreciates the time & energy that others have poured into him over the years,
Makes me wonder how much talent in many areas goes unrealized,
Because parents & teachers don’t give needed encouragement along the way.
Mike Nix sounds like the Don Strike of Northern Alabama. Don Strike was a big band guitarist and later music teacher in Bournemouth, England in the '50s and '60s. He taught, among others, Andy Summers, Greg Lake, Robert Fripp, John Wetton, and Gordon Haskell.
O, how we all miss Mr. Nix…
It looks like he's playing a D28 Authentic in this video… Nice.
RIP Mike Nix.
