All Democrats need to vote NO

@davidgifford8011 March 13, 2025 - 9:37 am

Don't just avoid a shutdown; write a bill that covers things all Repubs can agree on. Don't do a CR with Biden's priorities. Write a budget bill WITHOUT deficit spending. Don't scream "emergency" when you have a mandate!!! Don't let Biden continue to be a lame duck; let him go.

@Muhfreedum-g3g March 13, 2025 - 9:37 am

Democrats had better not help the Republicans in any way shape or form. Shut it down!!

@sherridoty4000 March 13, 2025 - 9:37 am

Lies, lies and more lies!!!!

@FarmToMarketRoad March 13, 2025 - 9:37 am

Shut down DOGE

@jefferylorance7988 March 13, 2025 - 9:37 am

50% of taxes collected is from individuals..cut the billionaires taxes is .reducing money collection…NOT A GOOD IDEA!

A person who believes these cuts is beneficial? Is not aware of the huge cost in the end…slow downs of pubic services, less enforcement of regulations, less healthcare, less safety, less of everything..
Hawaii has coffee trees with two major diseases, they just Cut 6 agriculture specialists who are trying to save Hawaii’s coffee trees – GONE…

@Chris-j5g7w March 13, 2025 - 9:37 am

The plan is to cause chaos and discord 😢.

@rvandagriff3520 March 13, 2025 - 9:37 am

They’ll pass it. They only need 7 democrats votes 😊

@mark-u4r6n March 13, 2025 - 9:37 am

Are people buying this crap? It's an annual scam to pile on more debt, which we end up paying for. I guess $36 trillion in debt just isn't enough. Come on, CBS, aren't you embarrassed reporting this bull?!

@SierraGuru March 13, 2025 - 9:37 am

I think Democrats should vote against this. Johnson's job is to build consensus and he's not even talking to the Democrats. He has enough people to pass it if he can unite his people. It's Johnson's job to make it work. The Democrats aren't required to roll over just because Johnson thinks he can blame them if he fails.

@MESO3030-2 March 13, 2025 - 9:37 am

Trump survived his previous 35 days of govt shutdown, the same budget of tax the poor and reward the rich. This time, make it permanent

@Heylivecoconuggets March 13, 2025 - 9:37 am

NO BILLIONAIRE TAX CUT. IF THEY DO THE ENTIRE COUNTRY WILL RIOT!!!

@devi6501 March 13, 2025 - 9:37 am

Shut it Down

@RoyJohnson-p6m March 13, 2025 - 9:37 am

If any Democrat comes forth and votes for that budget you know their own by the billionaires and you watch the ones who come forth will put out and within two or three weeks later a month later I'm resigned and I ain't going to run for reelection because they know why they sold their souls for the damn greedy rich

@RoyJohnson-p6m March 13, 2025 - 9:37 am

Do you know how quiet the media has been the billionaire own media they don't want to say anything about rich tax cuts and trillions on the debt they just stay real quiet and you notice if they can get two or three or four people to go to the other side oh it was a bipartisan Bill a bipartisan bill should be at least 45% of the other side and then you can call it by pardon billionaire on media it's not bipartisan it's your six little billionaire own puppet politicians coming to your side inside and not one damn Democrat butter even before this budget it's a republican slit throat cut the average American people out of just about everything let them they voted in their Rich tax cuts and had a trillions to our debt there is no reason they all can't come together to do their own little budget cuts

@lsherb8949 March 13, 2025 - 9:37 am

President Trump is Breaking the Law

Just weeks in, the Trump administration has violated rules, laws, and the Constitution.
Over and over, their actions violate the law — either the Constitution, or statutes, or both. Some moves may be designed to

dare the courts to sanction these power grabs. More likely, it seems increasingly clear, they don’t care. Trump needs to be IM PEACHED! Tax cuts are only for the rich people.

Courts need to IMPEACH Trump A.S.A.P.

@RealTalkWithGaryM March 13, 2025 - 9:37 am

This has been Nancy Pelosi budget for the past 3 years under the Republican party.

@dustinandrews3223 March 13, 2025 - 9:37 am

If the repubs can do it without Dems then I think this is all theater. If they actually need dem support than maybe there will be a shutdown.

@Bilbo_Schwaggins March 13, 2025 - 9:37 am

SHUT IT DOWN. They're dismanting our government anyway.

@johnwood211 March 13, 2025 - 9:37 am

20 years and no real budget. The US is a ponzi scheme right now.

@Gary-ow9he March 13, 2025 - 9:37 am

Shut it down! Censure that!

@kylesmith9573 March 13, 2025 - 9:37 am

Why is a shady businessman who was voted in by absolutely zero people making government decisions? Doesn't musk being there breach like 500 American laws? We already know his plans violate the constitution, but regardless, pretty sure business owners aren't supposed to be making laws. Kinda a huge security breach and conflict of interest

@AuralDeviation March 13, 2025 - 9:37 am

Honestly I wouldnt mind if this government shut down permanently.

@0098Elaine March 13, 2025 - 9:37 am

Gee all these departments being cut, isn't that shutting the govt down?

@eddie_alabama7997 March 13, 2025 - 9:37 am

Make Elon Musk Great Again!

@Dave-zl2ky March 13, 2025 - 9:37 am

Let's see. Johnson and Trump have treated every Democrat like crap, but now they need at least some of them. The word punt comes to mind.

@billwilson6826 March 13, 2025 - 9:37 am

Scott is cool. He’s always great.

@tinasimkins8006 March 13, 2025 - 9:37 am

Now they care if Congress signs off on DOGE's actions? Why, after a month and a half do they care now? And farmers are already being impacted with nowhere to sell their crops. There are some crops that have no U.S. market and were grown to go overseas, but that won't happen now that USAID was shut down.

@joleneb7182 March 13, 2025 - 9:37 am

If they pass the budget that Mike Johnson wants it will defund Medicaid. This is a non-starter for me. They are all doing illegal actions to subvert our laws. 🐱

@darrylbrown8253 March 13, 2025 - 9:37 am

Trump Sandwich: White bread, full of bologna, Russian dressing, and a very SMALL pickle on the side.

@bshwin March 13, 2025 - 9:37 am

Donald Trump and Elon Musk are treating Americans as disposable trash!

@chrisoneill3999 March 13, 2025 - 9:37 am

They have a concept of a plan?

@Bellmere March 13, 2025 - 9:37 am

Why is Congress even involved on budgetary matters anymore? Trump does whatever he wants regarding spending, cutting programs, and imposition of taxes (sales tax disguised as tariffs) unless delayed (not stopped) by the Supreme Court. Talking about debt limits is a joke. Trump will slash revenues through tax cuts and crank up spending and as the Master of Debt will push the U.S. into bankruptcy. Familiar territory for him.

@gwenratcliffe3815 March 13, 2025 - 9:37 am

I don't care what that smarmy faced Republican, mike Johnson has to say. CBS, if your news doesn't get a lot cheerier here in a short while, I will remove your subscription from my account along with the others I've already removed. These cancellations will even include the subscription to the whitehouse.

@charlessmyth March 13, 2025 - 9:37 am

When literacy and STEM rankings remain some of the lowest in the developed world, they won't have the DOE to blame 🙂

@loyisires1438 March 13, 2025 - 9:37 am

CBS News shamelessly

@wmryan9646 March 13, 2025 - 9:37 am

Democrats will definitely have a government shutdown to distract their upcoming DOJ investigations and prosecutions for money laundering , fraud, embezzlement and of course Corruption.

@DanielleDewitt-e6j March 13, 2025 - 9:37 am

No, PLEASE DO NOT GIVE BILLIONAIRES/MILLIONAIRES HUGE TAX CUTS.

@jamesliddell9095 March 13, 2025 - 9:37 am

Democracy is Dying in America

@jamesliddell9095 March 13, 2025 - 9:37 am

Welcome to the new US-USSR..

@timothysteadham331 March 13, 2025 - 9:37 am

I think the GOP wants a shutdown. They want to have an exciting why they need/should to cut federal workforce because most people won’t see any change if govt shuts down. At least not in short term. The problem is when you do need the services we provide then you’ll be affected.

@WakeUp-s5z March 13, 2025 - 9:37 am

If your leaders continue to follow your Orange demigod, you are done as a free country

@craigrussell7542 March 13, 2025 - 9:37 am

With the loonie party in charge a permanent shutdown is a good bet.

@MrLeftfootlouie March 13, 2025 - 9:37 am

Lord Farquaad, tiny Mike Johnson. Big man in the Heritage Foundation and Project 2025.
Speak like a dragon boy.

@seoulglo1999 March 13, 2025 - 9:37 am

If they're dismantling the government and firing staff to save money, why do they care if the government shuts down? Make it make sense!
