Murderball
Murderball focuses on physically disabled athletes who play for a wheelchair rugby team in a sport known as Quad Rugby. It follows the team as they discuss sports, life and how they ended up in wheelchairs as they play their way to the 2004 Athens Paralympic . The film is a peek into the everyday lives of these young men, most of whom have spinal injuries, as they candidly discuss their story, the love of the game, competitiveness, sex lives and feelings. Quad Rugby is a rough sport, and the players are more like seated gladiators.
Murderball is more than just a documentary about a single sport. It not only pays tribute to the players but also sheds light on the challenges faced by quadriplegics. It showcases courage and determination of the players battling against the odds to live life to its full potential.
