NSA Technical Director and whistleblower William Binney led a small team of expert code-breakers and surveillance professionals who had developed ThinThread, an advanced surveillance tool. Instead of embracing the innovation, the NSA opted for another programme, the Trailblazer Project, which was far more expensive than ThinThread, less effective, and lacked privacy protections for American citizens. ThinThread was cancelled just three weeks before the Sept. 11 attacks, and a later test of the program showed that it could have located the terrorists responsible before the attack.

A Good American explores both programmes, shining a light on government waste and outlining subsequent investigations into Trailblazer, which ended up costing billions whilst not properly addressing extensive United States security needs.

The film showcases archive footage across Washington, Pakistan, and the Middle East. It also features rare footage of Al-Qaeda’s training, propaganda, and suicide notes from terrorists who became suicide bombers.

The documentary is presented by a comedian, Andrew Maxwell. Maxwell subscribes to the official findings of the investigation and feels the conspiracies are utter rubbish. Accompanying him on this production are five British youths who disagree with his point of view. They examine questions surrounding the events: Did the planes really bring down the twin towers? Was there advanced knowledge of the attack? Why didn’t the American government act on this alleged intelligence?

Together, these six people will examine different aspects of the conspiracy theory regarding the events surrounding 9/11. Andrew Maxwell will attempt to challenge and debunk each facet of the conspiracy surrounding the American tragedy. They will travel to Ground Zero and through the USA to uncover the truth.

Through interviews with various witnesses and experts alongside analysis of news footage, the film seeks to prove the official version of events as false, favouring the controlled demolition theory. One of the interviewees, Dr Stephen Jones, alleges the existence of nano-thermite residues in World Trade Centers 1, 2 & 7. Another interviewee, Barry Jennings, who had been trapped in building 7 during the attacks claimed to have heard explosions in the building. The documentary notes the coincidental death of Jennings two days before the release of the report on building 7 by the National Institute of Standards and Technology, as well the fact that his testimony contradicted the official explanation. It also raises the question of why footage of the attack on the Pentagon was confiscated by the FBI from cameras on nearby buildings, alluding to a cover-up.

Loose Change 9/11 argues that various inconsistencies were put forward by the Bush Administration, challenging the official account and pointing to the idea that the attacks were a well-orchestrated event.

The documentary provides an intimately personal look at the events of that morning, with eyewitness accounts from some of the survivors who were lucky enough to escape the hotel’s collapse.

By 2002. the last remains of the hotel had been removed, and the hotel has not been rebuilt or included in the 9/11 memorial. As a result, Hotel Ground Zero feels more crucial than ever, as it tells a gripping, life-or-death story that might otherwise have faded with the hotel itself.

With its painfully human perspective on the events of September 11th, the film is an honest, unflinching examination of hope, survival, and courage.

The 9/11 Faker looks into the story of Tania Head and how she became the poster child for 9/11 survivors by speaking to survivors, the therapist who treated her, and the family of the dead hero who she claimed had saved her life.
