David Irvine's heart was in the right place.He had great courage too.Its important to laud all the other great people,who took the guns out of politics,and ultimately landed the great prize of PEACE.

God Bless You David Ervine, RIP May peace be upon this island of Ireland.

@Kazby78 April 26, 2025 - 5:54 pm

David's dad telling paisley to F off says it all. 👌

@Albert_O_Balsam April 26, 2025 - 5:54 pm

David Ervine came from the other side of the political divide to me, but even as a youngster that didn't full understand the gravity of the troubles during the early 90s, he always seemed to be honest, intelligent and genuinely progressive in his views for the country, never resorted to rabble rousing sectarian soundbites in interviews and always eschewing violence or the very mention of it.

He was a great loss to our political landscape.

@stephensmith4480 April 26, 2025 - 5:54 pm

The World needs more people like David Ervine. It was a sad day when he left Northern Ireland, far to soon in my opinion. RIP David 🙏

@edwardodonnell6857 April 26, 2025 - 5:54 pm

His heart changed from killer to politician he gave everything he could as a human being to make peace,.

@sonnyirish3678 April 26, 2025 - 5:54 pm

Sadly Mr Ervine did not see the "multiculturalism " was a disaster.Unionist politicians just did not see what was happening in Britain by inviting in millions of non natives.

@GlentoranMark April 26, 2025 - 5:54 pm

I had a pee with him at the Glentoran match on the Saturday when he took ill. He spoke to me about the game as if we had been friends for years even though I'd never spoke to him before,.

A great man, much missed.
