The chinese found out that most of USA infrastructure doesn't work. Government run projects turn to junk.
I remember saying to be cautious about this in the 1990's and early 2000's, our leaders didn't want to hear it. Our universities didn't want to hear it. Everyone was saying that China would want to become part of the West, and we were going to gain access to a "1 billion person market."
Our own politicians and corporate leaders built China, one decision at a time. China now has the manufacturing capacity of USA, Japan, and Germany combined. We gave them 150 years of technological progress. They make all the luxury goods. They make many of our most advanced parts, and they are very good at all these things. We educated their students for fifty years at our best schools.
Congrats to the Chinese – they now have a 21 trillion dollar economy made from real goods.
