If US didn’t restrict living standards in Cuba he wouldn’t have had to escape.
Arturo ,Maestro magnificent.
Proud of you !!! 😢
Wonderful..our beloved Diz is smiling from ABOVE..most respectfully..Vaughn
Met him for first time on the movie set … most pleasant Gent. Shared most impressive stories with us.
The on-set jam sessions with other musical greats was truly remarkable, privileged to have seen them all perform/improvise
Very Proud of this man. As a Cuban myself, thank you! For making all Cubans proud, God Bless.
When Gayle retires, I hope Adriana takes her place. Sandoval is a genius.
Ironically Obama gave him that medal…
Such a beautiful, inspiring story. 😊😊
This video is inspiring for me. It should be mandatory watching for woke idiots. Probably only a few would get it.
His version of "My Love" from A Night at Ronnie's CD is beautiful. 😊
Amazing. As a Cuban American I'm so proud. God bless. My family left Cuba like many others due to repression of freedom of expression. Bravo Arturo!
i have not seen Arturo LIVE. i was fortunate enough to see Dizzy LIVE with his band in a little Central California venue before he passed away. that is the first time i learned how a trumpeter empties saliva from the bell. the woman, Adriana Diaz, interviewing Arturo here has great energy. Like 👍
Minunat Thank you
Bravo!!! Very well done.
I met Dizzy Gillespie back in 1980 when he was visiting radio station WRVR in New York which was next door to my high school" Greater New York Academy ", I told my friend, hey thats Dizzy Gallespie and she said "who is he"? When he heard her, he smiled…put his finger over his lips and blew as if blowing into a trumpet and his cheeks filled with air. She laughed and said " oh, he's Dizzy Gillespie? I've seen him before but didn't know his name. He was so tickled and we all laughed. He seemed to have a great sense of humor. He signed my art sketch pad (which my husband mistakenly threw out while cleaning out the attic)🤬🤬🤬
Even though the book is gone, the memory of that day will be with me always. I was 18 then and 62 now but I love to tell that story often. I am forever grateful for that encounter!!!
My husband and I love Arturo Sandoval and have many of his works on CD.
This was a great interview, I wish it was longer. Stories like these are great to see.
Thank you for posting this.
Peace and love.
Laguarapachanga!! 🎉😅
Thank you for your Music
Much respect Sir ✊🏾
Jazz is no longer illegal in Cuba. Years ago it was considered imperialist music but later it came to be regarded as the "music of the oppressed US blacks:
Thank you! Arturo is the best.
