There are few whose opinions i trust but Rory stewart's opinion i trust fully🎉

@will27ns April 22, 2025 - 12:16 pm

Bannon is a grifter and a nutcase. It's terrifying to think people like this are influencing Trump's policies.

@stevensinger9645 April 22, 2025 - 12:16 pm

A bit rich for Campbell to criticize Trump as undemocratic. He was the man who called for the reversal of the Brexit vote. Seems he only likes the outcome of a vote if it goes his way.

@user-fj6il3pp9t April 22, 2025 - 12:16 pm

Rory. China does not have anywhere near $7 trillion, not even a trillion, in US treasuries. Show is great w/o need for such wild exaggeration.

@quacker944 April 22, 2025 - 12:16 pm

The whole US government has been gutted by doge, tens of thousands have been fired for cause, decades of important data is being deliberately destroyed, universities and professors and students under attack – it’s a complete far right Christian fascist oligarchic tech bro take over. Just wait until they trash social security and the ada – the administration is obviously fishing for violence so they can declare martial law ( and crash the dollar)
We’re in for a bumpy ride

@quacker944 April 22, 2025 - 12:16 pm

Trump himself has talked about deporting US felons to foreign jails – so far 5 citizens have been.

Anything that Trump says should definitely be filed under his favourite statement “ FAKE NEWS”.

@omegaman4153 April 22, 2025 - 12:16 pm

VW, BMW and MBs are overpriced.

@omegaman4153 April 22, 2025 - 12:16 pm

The interviews are on fox, because fox will sell their lies, never actually question any statements. Just promote fascist crap.

@billfinn7751 April 22, 2025 - 12:16 pm

Rory – Gaza medics were not "killed" they were deliberately targeted by the IDF & murdered ….most of the media ..the BBC being a particularly heinous complicit news outlet ….are still avoiding the words war crimes in a scale we have only known from Assad …arguably Israel is worse than Assad if for no other reason than they are an ally of the UK. It has taken a lot for you 2 to finally say what thousands of us have been saying for months & months

@janegriffin2646 April 22, 2025 - 12:16 pm

Lets get this correct, A is left, and Rory is right, they are both academic, their cv s, and past careers are impressive, they have life experience and an astonishing contact list. Whether you agree or not is another thing because they are allowed to say what they want, oh, and you are allowed to stop the video.

Thank you for doing what you are doing. It is fantastic to hear two intelligent, informed, level headed people discuss this mess. I'm getting by because I get to watch. By the way, you guys are struggling with all of this – try living here.

@laogong52 April 22, 2025 - 12:16 pm

Rory hasn't a clue about China.

The far right are far more active on social media than normal people. Its the only place where they can easily find like minded people.

@edmundschubert4963 April 22, 2025 - 12:16 pm

“The question is whether or not they’ve got any guts…”. Republicans answered that question a long time ago with a deafening “NO.”

@martinhayes9294 April 22, 2025 - 12:16 pm

Gentleman we seem to be crossing many of the rules against humanity that we thought were forbidden in the bad times of the last century this needs a massive response against to show a common responce before it is too late ,

Yes. Wake up, world. In a nutshell 47:0048:25.

@timakey4678 April 22, 2025 - 12:16 pm

How far? The Supreme Court is corrupt. The House and Senate are paralyzed. The military is now under the command of MAGA senior officers who will (and likely already have) betray their oath to support and defend the Constitution. Twenty two states are MAGA states. There are 1000+ armed Nazi brown shirts (Proud Boys and Oath Keepers) lurking, waiting to be called to action by tRump. People are already being “disappeared” and sent to foreign prisons. It is past “how far” to “what comes after? I don’t know what kind of country I am living in now. But it is not a democracy. All the major branches of government are corrupt and compromised. Free speech is under attack. Religious fundamentalist’s rule is growing exponentially. The economy is crashing. Shooting wars loom on several different fronts. It is getting ever harder to trust anyone. (I’m even growing shy of leaving negative opinions like this one and will likely, soon, disconnect from any and all forms of social media.) America is way past the point of no return.

@oldasrocks9121 April 22, 2025 - 12:16 pm

Would not all of this make more sense if he was in fact working for the Kremlin?

@hgwjtube April 22, 2025 - 12:16 pm

Depresses me too. Here we have some representatives of the metropolitan elite. A pair of bitter, whining, lefty, remoaners spouting one-sided, groundless twaddle – each simpering over the other's pontifications. Their back-slapping banter and self-regard explains much about the insidious, far left, tyranny now clouding the skies of the UK.

@jameslonsdale6113 April 22, 2025 - 12:16 pm

The world has gone!! We have an elected (my god you lot are worse than I thought) as president. You supported the IRA when they were bombing us every week, you back Israel because the own the banks, you back Russia because well god knows. I’d hate to American but even more so right now. You haven’t even got a party to hold his lies to account!!!

@paulcasey5204 April 22, 2025 - 12:16 pm

How long until Rory is detained at the border? Refused entry or even arrested?

@adcaptandumvulgus4252 April 22, 2025 - 12:16 pm

It might be his version of a debt jubilee but I could be wrong

@marknewton7212 April 22, 2025 - 12:16 pm

8:27 😂 Great sum up Campbell, Trump is the proverbial showrunner, producer and leading actor of the Trump Legacy. An unprecedented TV series, compiling Tariff Wars, European Conflicts and the continued fight against the US Secret State.

@SomeRandomBod April 22, 2025 - 12:16 pm

Rory needs to watch his words, he could end up in El Salvador if he’s not careful.

@Eind_hoven April 22, 2025 - 12:16 pm

Funny, basically the you are the same as your conservative party in the UK. And correct me if I'm wrong, but you wer part of the Conservatives party, right?

@tombei4388 April 22, 2025 - 12:16 pm

Thank you for your sanity. ❤

@linmorell1813 April 22, 2025 - 12:16 pm

I disagree with Rory in that the only thing that matters is Trump and his cronies are out to make themselves richer. The rest is a mechanism to do it. I never thought I would support China, but it looks as if they will stand up to these Republicans. Keep taxing penguins 😮

@GraemeSutton-q5d April 22, 2025 - 12:16 pm

Wanted to leave this on a more recent video although it pertains to something Rory said in a discussion about Japan and British trade unionists in British politics. Rory's observation that British politicians are increasingly 'in the family buisiness' was absolutely spot on. Although Alistair batted this point away I honestly belive that when politics run in the family (as it does in my own) it also breeds a nerdy technocratic myopia which IS the reason why westminster politicians fail to connect with the majority of the electorate. More dangerously this lack of scope in career politicians is what creates the space for nasty ghastly charismatic extremists to optimise public disatisfacton for their own ends. Should we talk about the Westminster bubble as having less to do with a background of private education and more to do with any circumstance which breeds a detached administrative approach to governing for the people.

@jamesgeorge8915 April 22, 2025 - 12:16 pm

What we need to understand is Trump and bannon consider everyone the enemy and they have declared an economic war. We need to understand we are now at war with USA, don't underestimate their intentions. This is literally a WAR! Mental isn't it.

@fabius5366 April 22, 2025 - 12:16 pm

Is China that vulnerable?
I do not know.
As far as I know, their export to the US amounts to 15% of its total export and only less than 3% of GDP

@tigers456 April 22, 2025 - 12:16 pm

When the economy tanks the rich get relatively richer. Doesn’t help inequality.

@NicolasMogensen April 22, 2025 - 12:16 pm

Nobody really likes him deep down. It's always been like that and he knows it. People surround him because they smell money but he was never accepted by the 'old money' of New York, knowing his father was a slumlord, fraudster and investor in shady deals. He's always had a chip on his shoulder and an axe to grind because of that. Add that he's charmless, witless and humourless and you have the Trump of 2025. Even his family has stepped back and doing the absolute minimum only to stay in line for the inheritance. Where is Ivanka? Kushner? Even Melania has refused to live with him in the White House.

@ivanopinion8238 April 22, 2025 - 12:16 pm

The two dumbest people in politics. Both architects of the Iraq fiasco – that 2 trillion disaster that cost millions of lives. Tariffs on imports from China are a completely appropriate and proportional response to the egregious breaches of IP protection, labour rights and environmental standards.

@TheFlaneur-up1ft April 22, 2025 - 12:16 pm

If you look at King Trump and really look at what he’s done & doing, I do believe he’s the biggest Terrorist the world has ever seen.

@florenceleroy4449 April 22, 2025 - 12:16 pm

Could Trump be doing it to essentially enrich himself?.. It's chaos, the financial markets go up and down following his tweets, which allows him to predict when to invest and buy? Him and his cronies… yes, I know how it sounds… it's crude. But it's Trump . The guy who goes through life evading all…And the fact that the media all around the world are just waiting for his every words, it's a showman dream… I don't think honestly, it goes further than that for Trump's brain.

Trust in America has totally gone. A broken teapot can be glued back together again but will forever be a broken teapot.
