Such a sad story, your daughter is the doubie of her grandmother so beautiful, stay strong sending love 🙏🏽❤️💛💚
I'm sure the reason the detective did not believe Reginald Senior was innocent is because of one moment: 11:28–11:34. The look he gave his son and "vice versa" followed with the question, "Everybody?".
The thumbnail made me think this was a case about a wrongful arrest. I would’ve watched this sooner, not that I’m against wrongful arrest cases but they’re really heavy and I need time to prepare myself emotionally.
I’m so sorry to Reggie jr, he’s mother’s life was taken while he was so young. May Selona rest in peace 🪦 🕊️
Sad that Reggie junior don't dont have a good relationship with his aunt. Solonias sister. 😢
That video of Reggie as a scared 6 yr old broke me 😢
That poor man has lived with this pain his entire life.
Sadly, I feel like Jimmy Ray murdered that beautiful lady. But I also believe that Reginald put him up to it. 💔
Stories like this break your heart before they ever try to scare you. It’s not just about what happened — it’s about the silence that followed.
The pain of not knowing, of waking up every day without answers… that’s the kind of horror that stays with a family forever.
48 Hours tells these stories with the care and weight they deserve — a reminder that true crime is never just entertainment. 🕯💔
She and her sister have beautiful bright eyes
Omggg this is 💔I hate Reggie(son)had to go through this😓Despite his woes, u can tell Reggie is a good man, he’s gracious, resilient, and is the epitome of fortitude 💙R.I.P Selonia 🌹 Omggg she was nothing less than gorgeous 🥺❣️
She and her sister have beautiful bright eyes
so the only evidence they had was a clean house, the fact that the family took out life insurance, and the word of a criminal and very likely suspect. i hope there was more evidence than what they showed, because thats hardly enough to convict a man, especially when your witness could easily have done it, and is trying to shift blame.
She was a beautiful young lady
He provided for the son with the blood money from killing his mother.
The defense attorneys werle correct. There isn't a rife of information 😮 towards the brothers. What it appears, is she went out to confront ❤ an abuser, a stalk8r, and that's why🎉 no one knew anything about it. She bought her child a chocolate chip cookie, smoothed his hair, and promised she'd be back
His father may not have done this. Yet, you play with other people's lives, 😢 best believe there will be repurcussions.
Heartbreaking for her son he's clearly still greiving
I did a double take when I heard Hammond, LA ! I wonder if they had enough resources then (or now) to investigate. If body was staged wouldn’t there be trace DNA on the clothes, under her fingernails? Who drove if she was in the passenger seat? Was the SA staged…no DNA? Did they luminol the house? Did they track the insurance payouts? What were the twins alibis? There’s a lot of holes in the report. PLENTY of men cherish their kid but loathe the woman they married. 6yr old memory is tricky. Little Reggie’s world crashed and his self preservation kicked in. Maybe he knew something didn’t seem right that night (or after) but his mind wouldn’t let itself process such horrific ideas. In that interview I see a boy that didn’t want to contradict his father; maybe he didn’t want to lie or say the things he was told to say, “I don’t want to talk!” How did his dad/family explain his mother’s death at the time? Peace to everyone that loves Solonia.
Window shoplifting
What a great son. His mom would be proud. He lost his mom and dad but his father killed her. The life insurance policy and him playing with a hackey sac while his son is crying when being interviewed by the police are major red flags
I wonder why second degree? This was planned and the life insurance he took out a month before says it’s not second degree
This is so sad. A boy growing up without his mother …all I can say is that when he refers to himself as "when I look in the mirror I see my mother" he is 100% right. Our souls are devoted to our babies, and we will stay with them their whole lives no matter where we are.
SHE WAS SO BEAUTIFUL.
So, so, so sad 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
This story is so sad. It once again proves the lifelong effect such horrendous crimes have on the poor children. It's heartbreaking to see that Reggie Jr. would rather deny his mother justice than to accept that his father is a manipulative pos and a narcissist. He's so conflicted and it's really hard to watch. Maybe Reggie Jr. should have waited until he was sure about his feelings before he wrote the book. His beautiful, loving mother deserves better than this. She deserves a son who is willing to turn over every rock on this earth to get her justice even if this means to break all ties with his father. I believe that Reggie Sr. and Jimmy were on the downlow and that's why Jimmy hated Selonia so much. I hope that monster spends the rest of his life in prison. He robbed Selonia and Reggie Jr. of so much
Brave boy grown up became a brave gentleman… Wish you a happy and long life….
I felt this. Oct 1981, my mother was brutally murdered at 28yrs old. I was 6 yrs old, my sister was 8. She laid in a cornfield wrapped in a mattress for 3 weeks and was discovered by a 12 yr old boy and his friend while riding their bicycles after school. To this day, no one has done a day in prison for her death. I'm 50 now, and I'm still angry. My heart goes out to this man.
The tears of joy I cried at the end were significantl and real. They really came when he said they decided to name his daughter after his beautiful mother who had no chance to grow. I am so glad he grew up to be such a strong responsible black man for his family. God bless him and his.
Guilty please
Ha killedher forthemoney
Well i didnt knw identicaal twins have the same DNA😮
The mom looked like Nia long
Oh my goodness, this poor man this poor baby
2nd degree? Seriously?
I'm sorry little boy but your dad did it. Rip to this beautiful woman and I'm sorry your family took so long to get justice for you.
What a nice guy !
This gentleman is making me cry. Dear God.
What a beautiful son!!!!!!
😊
God didn't let his father convicted that time bcuz he was just a small boy that needs somebody looking after him
Don't know why red flags didn't go up in that interview with dad… the lack of emotions while picking at the bean bag and your wife was just found brutally murdered is just insane!!!
Reggie, your Mother is soo very Beautiful. Im so sorry for you, a little boy
heartbreaking
Dad is a killer
